Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a significantly divided experience at this practice, with stark contrasts between clinical and administrative services. Medical staff, nursing teams, and clinical procedures consistently receive praise for professionalism, compassion, and clinical competence. However, appointment access and reception experience emerge as persistent problem areas, with patients reporting prolonged waiting times on phone lines, difficulty securing consultations, and inconsistent courtesy from front desk staff. The booking system presents particular challenges, with complaints about limited availability, inflexible scheduling that disadvantages working professionals, and unreliable online platforms. Communication gaps between departments and delayed prescription processing have also been noted across multiple reviews.

When patients successfully access clinical care, they frequently describe positive interactions with doctors and nursing staff who demonstrate attentiveness and genuine concern. Several reviews highlight efficient procedures, thorough assessments, and supportive team approaches during consultations. The practice environment itself is often described as clean and well-maintained. However, the difficulty in reaching appointments and variable reception courtesy create a significant barrier to care that undermines otherwise strong clinical service delivery. This disparity suggests that operational and administrative improvements could substantially enhance the overall patient experience without compromising the quality of clinical care already being provided.

Frustrating medical nightmare with zero patient support

I've been attempting to schedule an antidepressant medication review for more than a week. Currently, I'm without my medication and cannot be prescribed a refill until the review is completed. On Monday the 5th, I tried to book an appointment, but the doctor called while I was working, making it impossible to answer. When I called back on Wednesday, no appointments were available. Friday, I received a message to contact the practice, which I did immediately after work at 5pm. I explained to the receptionist that my 9-5 work schedule prevents phone access, and she assured me she'd book me for 5:20pm on Tuesday. Tuesday arrived, and the doctor called me at 1:30pm and 3:30pm - times I'd explicitly stated I couldn't answer - and rang my landlines, knowing full well I was at work. At 5:20pm, no call came, leaving me absolutely furious. I rang the surgery and was left on hold for 46 minutes before giving up in frustration. I've called EVERY SINGLE day seeking another appointment, constantly being told to try again tomorrow, while my medication supply steadily decreases. I've now been without antidepressants for 3 days. Fortunately, this isn't life-critical medication. This morning, I called the practice FORTY-FIVE times. Eventually getting through, I attempted to schedule a post-work appointment when I'm available. The receptionist informed me they don't offer appointments after 5pm, contradicting last week's booking. She suggested Tuesday, which would mean a week without medication. This practice is completely disorganized. The merger with Harwood Close was a mistake - you're overwhelmed with patients for your operating hours. I'll definitely be seeking a new medical practice.

Terrible service from an unhelpful front desk

Subpar front desk service with an incredibly discourteous staff member. While I acknowledge not all receptionists are identical and have previously encountered a pleasant interaction, today's representative was appallingly unprofessional. Her approach toward individuals with mental health challenges was shockingly insensitive. She desperately requires training on compassionate patient communication. It's no surprise that such treatment could potentially push vulnerable people toward destructive behaviors.

Terrible medical practice with zero customer support

Utterly abysmal customer support at the front desk. Endlessly stuck in phone queue limbo, only to have the call summarily terminated. Your reception telephone operations desperately require a comprehensive overhaul. It seems I'll be handling my own medical sutures and actively seeking an alternative healthcare provider.

Worst medical experience ever terrible customer service

Extremely discourteous and pompous front desk staff who show zero empathy for patients. After being a loyal client for seven years, I was abruptly dismissed simply because my residential address had changed - and this occurred during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. What a valuable life lesson this has been. I'm fully aware that voicing my complaint will make no difference, as these self-important individuals will undoubtedly retain their positions.

Horrible customer service at medical reception desk

I called to seek guidance on a medical concern, and the receptionist's demeanor was shockingly inappropriate and completely unprofessional. Her attitude was appalling, and I received zero helpful advice. She abruptly terminated the call, leaving me utterly frustrated and dismayed by the abysmal customer service.

Frustrating healthcare experience with terrible communication

Absolutely frustrating trying to contact this medical practice for an appointment - it's impossible to get through. I submitted my blood pressure medication request Thursday morning, and by Monday evening at the chemist, it still hadn't been processed. After multiple attempts to reach reception, I'm still without my medication. The practice used to be reliable before Harwood closed, but standards have seriously declined since then. Completely unsatisfactory service.

Frustrating healthcare experience with terrible booking system

Spent two grueling hours attempting to secure an appointment, repeatedly dialing while navigating my morning commute. Finally connected, only to be told to have someone else call back tomorrow - as if everyone doesn't have work commitments. This medical practice has consistently let me down, and today is no exception to their pattern of frustrating service.

Frustrating healthcare experience with impossible appointment system

Attempting to connect with this service is an exercise in futility. Call at 8:29 and you're instructed to ring back at 8:30. So you do, calling at 8:31, only to finally get through at 9:30 and be informed that no appointments remain. To make matters worse, you're penalized for not canceling appointments, yet get disconnected when trying to do so. People question why primary care is overwhelmed - well, this is exactly why! To be fair, once you actually manage to see a healthcare professional, they are genuinely compassionate, kind, and helpful. The real issue lies in the arduous process of simply gaining access to their services.

Outstanding care from start to finish

Charlotte demonstrated professionalism and compassion while drawing my husband's blood during his recent visit. The entire medical practice team, from front desk staff to healthcare professionals, provides outstanding service. I'm equally appreciative of the behind-the-scenes personnel - including the Prescription Team, Housekeeping staff, Secretarial support, Practice Manager, and Assistant - who collectively ensure a seamless and welcoming healthcare experience for patients.

Terrible healthcare with uncaring staff and delays

The quality of service has deteriorated dramatically. I'm on the verge of seeking alternative healthcare providers following another frustrating incident. I called to inquire about my overdue prescription - now 4 weeks late - and was dismissively told I had sufficient medication, which was completely untrue. 😠 The receptionists are consistently unhelpful, and scheduling an appointment seems nearly impossible. When I occasionally manage to secure a consultation, the doctor appears disinterested and hurries through the appointment, making me feel unvalued. The only bright spot is the nursing staff, who remain professional and compassionate.

Frustrating wait for a simple medical appointment

What a complete farce! Their scheduling process is totally broken. I wasted 45 minutes waiting on hold just to be told to call back the next day, assuming anyone even picks up the phone! I've been struggling for more than a week just to secure an appointment. Despite all this frustration, I must say the medical staff themselves are absolutely fantastic when you finally get to see them.

Terrible phone service from rude receptionist nightmare

The receptionist was incredibly discourteous on the phone! After waiting endlessly with no response, she finally answered and after a few brief questions, all I received was a curt "Thank you Thank you Bye..." They abruptly hung up, showing they clearly don't care! The receptionist seems to think she's so qualified that she can arbitrarily decide who deserves an appointment over the phone. In all my years of using the NHS, I've never encountered someone so negative and unprofessional! If you dislike your job, you should never take that frustration out on patients. If you're unable to walk and have no one to help you get an appointment, you're essentially out of luck. There appears to be only one doctor willing to actually order tests instead of just prescribing painkillers until you're practically dead. The receptionist working on 27/08/2010 should be thoroughly investigated and absolutely prevented from interacting with patients due to her appalling attitude. Absolutely shameful!!!
