Mixed experience with good medical care

The GPS are outstanding and truly attentive. The nursing staff demonstrate exceptional compassion. However, this otherwise excellent medical facility is undermined by certain front desk personnel. Their demeanor borders on rudeness and I've experienced multiple instances of incorrect information being provided. Perhaps they could benefit from a customer service training workshop. I understand they encounter diverse patients, some potentially challenging, but as someone who has been consistently polite, I feel undeserving of being treated like an unwelcome interruption when asking a completely reasonable question. The medical professionals deserve a perfect 10/10 rating. It's regrettable that the reception team is diminishing the overall quality of this otherwise excellent practice.

Frustrating journey to change primary care practice

It's been three weeks since I initially reached out to this medical practice about transferring my care. My current GP is absolutely dreadful (check their reviews and you'll understand), and I thought switching practices would be straightforward. I completed the NHS website registration form, only to be told they couldn't accept me because I'm already registered elsewhere. I detailed my circumstances and was directed to contact NHS. I followed their guidance, then engaged with the health board responsible for approving such transfers, which ultimately granted permission. Upon calling the practice, I was instructed to provide written confirmation. I obtained an email that I couldn't forward because—incredibly—they lack a patient communication email address. I printed the letter, hand-delivered it to the practice, and waited several additional days. Their response? A flat denial, claiming all previous instructions were incorrect and I cannot transfer. Three weeks wasted, involving the practice manager, three NHS phone representatives, and at least five reception calls. I remain unable to consult a doctor about my health concerns. Ultimately, I'm left feeling frustrated and disappointed—accessing basic healthcare shouldn't be this complicated. It's unfortunate, as I've heard positive things about this practice.

Terrible healthcare service with zero patient support

I've got to say, this medical practice is absolutely dreadful, and I've experienced nothing but constant difficulties booking appointments for both myself and my infant. My child is now half a year old and has missed critical vaccination milestones that should have been completed at three months, purely because the surgery repeatedly cancels or changes appointment times. It's completely unacceptable, and this pattern of poor service was consistent throughout my entire pregnancy - I was perpetually unable to secure an appointment or communicate with the midwife. The front desk staff are shockingly discourteous and obstructive - I'm not typically someone who enjoys writing negative feedback, but this facility is truly abysmal.

Unprofessional nurse dismissed my nan's health concerns

My grandmother recently underwent major surgery and was unable to visit the clinic, so they kindly sent a nurse practitioner, which I appreciated (even though a doctor was originally expected). Unfortunately, when the nurse arrived, he was extremely irritable and scolded her for calling him out, claiming her concerns were unwarranted. He also instructed her to discontinue her post-surgical medication "if she didn't think it was necessary". While I understand the sentiment, he did not consult a physician, despite her not yet having her follow-up hospital appointment and being advised to continue the medication. This interaction has left her feeling anxious about contacting medical professionals, experiencing embarrassment and feeling like a burden. This is particularly concerning because after her surgery, she was explicitly warned about potentially life-threatening side effects and told to immediately report any concerns. I am deeply disappointed by how she was treated. While I appreciate the medical practice and have heard positive feedback about them overall, I am extremely unhappy with how this particular staff member handled her case.

Unhelpful doctors turn away student in need

College students returning home for the summer, steer clear of attempting temporary registration at this clinic. They denied my daughter's registration, even after the receptionist initially provided a form and this being her lifelong medical practice. The Practice Manager claimed that with only one doctor available due to vacation, they couldn't accommodate her, despite our urgent need for a back-related consultation. The reception staff displayed a shockingly unhelpful demeanor. We contacted an alternative medical center, who welcomed her without hesitation and scheduled an emergency appointment the following day. Our gratitude goes to Blundellsands Surgery for their assistance.

Worst gp appointment ever terrible healthcare experience

My encounter at this GP practice was absolutely abysmal. During my inaugural consultation, the physician displayed an appalling level of rudeness and patronizing behavior. She outright dismissed my claim of waiting two months for an appointment (having registered in September and securing a slot only in November). She aggressively criticized me for wanting to discuss multiple health concerns. I became visibly distressed during the consultation, and instead of showing empathy, she blamed me for disrupting the appointment's flow. Her line of questioning about my condition was alarmingly misguided, which made me seriously doubt her professional competence. Ironically, she suggested my symptoms might stem from stress - a condition she herself was actively generating! Practitioners like her are genuinely hazardous, as their unprofessional conduct actively discourages patients from seeking necessary medical attention, particularly those struggling with mental health challenges or experiencing trauma. I am completely devoid of any confidence in this doctor and am thoroughly repulsed by her conduct.

The reception staff are welcoming and incredibly supportive.
