Emergency referral wasn't sent to hospital

I attended the practice several years ago following a health concern that arose while I was away from home. I was seen urgently and underwent some diagnostic tests. I was advised that hospital assessment was necessary, but the referral process did not proceed as expected. Due to my circumstances at the time, I was unable to remain in the area and eventually had to leave. I subsequently experienced ongoing health issues and sought to understand what had happened with my hospital referral. It appeared that the hospital did not receive the referral from the practice. Despite my attempts to clarify the situation, I was unable to obtain a clear explanation for why the referral was not sent. I remain frustrated about how this matter was handled and feel it should have been managed differently.

Friendly staff who genuinely care for families

This has been an excellent GP practice for us. After relocating several times before establishing ourselves in this area many years ago, we have consistently had a positive experience here. The team members are genuinely warm and approachable, and they have provided wonderful care for my family throughout our time as patients. They consistently demonstrate a willingness to go the extra mile to assist us.

The standard of care delivered here is outstanding. It is refreshing in today's challenging circumstances to find that calls are answered promptly, with the reception team consistently demonstrating both efficiency and compassion. The clinical staff members provide a consistently high quality of service. Having relocated to this area from a larger city, I can say with confidence that accessing appointments here has been considerably more straightforward than my previous experience. It is also reassuring to receive proactive communication rather than feeling like you are navigating the system alone. I am very grateful for this experience.

The service provided was extremely disappointing. It appears the practice operates in a manner that feels counterproductive to patient care. Staff treated us as individuals, not numbers

Despite the challenges facing the health service, the clinicians at this practice are truly excellent. They consistently go the extra mile and, despite being stretched thin, they always treat patients with genuine warmth and compassion. The lengthy waiting times are not a reflection of the clinical team's efforts. The entire practice team works with impressive efficiency given the circumstances, and they all merit recognition for their dedication. Long waits for telephone appointments frustrate

Another four week delay - once more!!! And that's merely for a phone consultation. Does the entire population in this area seem to be perpetually unwell? I struggle to understand what could justify such extended waiting periods. Quite disappointing. The current GP framework really ought to be overhauled and substituted with a system that genuinely prioritises patient care.

Long waits and confusing appointment reminders

I have been unable to secure an appointment within a reasonable timeframe, and subsequently received a reminder notification for a consultation I had already completed. On one occasion, I attended reception with a significant infection concern and was advised by staff that I would require certain medications after they reviewed my medical history, however no clinician was available to see me at that time. I sought care elsewhere and found that one of the recommended treatments was not necessary. I am disappointed by the changes that appear to have taken place at this practice.

You're supposed to have doctor-patient confidentiality. So when you share concerns with a healthcare professional about your wellbeing and they subsequently contact the authorities, that feels like a breach of that confidentiality. 👏👏👏👏well done

Impossible to get appointments when you need them

The current leadership appears to lack the necessary expertise and strategic direction. Obtaining an appointment presents significant challenges, and even when access is secured, patients may find themselves referred elsewhere for further care. Remote consultations seem to be the primary method of assessment for various health concerns, and there appears to be a liberal approach to prescribing certain medications, which raises questions about promoting appropriate usage patterns. It is hoped that these practices will improve over time, and that the service will return to the standards previously experienced. There are concerns that staff may be overly cautious in their approach to patient care.
