I had an excellent experience at this surgery. The doctor I saw was incredibly helpful and attentive, though they were unable to resolve my issue directly. They promptly referred me to a nurse, and I was able to be seen immediately. I have nothing but positive things to say about the care and service provided by this practice.

Unhelpful staff didn't listen to my concerns

I had a very negative experience at this practice. I felt the clinical staff lacked understanding of my situation and needs. In particular, I was disappointed when I wasn't provided with the prescription support I had been receiving previously, and instead felt directed toward alternative options. Over the course of more than a year, I did not feel my health concerns were adequately addressed. I would recommend considering other practices if you are seeking comprehensive treatment and support.

Reception attitude varies significantly at this practice

I have been attending this medical centre for a couple of years and aside from the lengthy waiting times to see a clinician, my experience has generally been satisfactory. However, there is one member of the reception team whose approach I find particularly problematic. This individual comes across as dismissive, discourteous, impatient, abrupt, lacking in empathy and unhelpful, and I often end the call when they answer the phone. In contrast, the other receptionists are wonderful, genuinely kind and eager to assist. The problematic staff member gives the impression of being disengaged and reluctant to provide support. Every interaction seems to be treated as an inconvenience. It appears from feedback that others have noticed this pattern, yet there seems to be no change. When you are unwell and distressed, it is disheartening to be told nothing can be done and to call back the next day, only to find that when you do ring back shortly after, another team member resolves the matter promptly and efficiently. Being met with unhelpfulness during a time of vulnerability feels particularly unkind. Were it not for the compassionate and caring approach of the other staff members, I would consider changing practices. Instead, I will continue to disconnect calls when this person answers. The service would benefit from improvement in this area.

Impossible to book appointments here

I would rate this practice much lower if possible. I found it to be a deeply unsatisfactory experience. Obtaining an appointment proved extremely difficult, with availability seemingly restricted unless the situation was classified as urgent, even when seeking care for children. During a consultation, I was uncomfortable with the language used in front of my children on multiple occasions. Additionally, I was advised to source a particular medication online for my child rather than receiving a prescription, which I found concerning. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your healthcare needs.

This practice has been a significant disappointment. The reception team came across as unwelcoming and seemed to emphasise lengthy waiting times for appointments, with only emergency cases being prioritised differently. Once an appointment was eventually secured, communication with the clinical staff proved challenging due to language barriers, making it difficult to explain health concerns effectively. After a decade as a patient here, I feel compelled to seek care elsewhere. I'm grateful to have private medical insurance as an alternative option.

Reception staff were dismissive and curt

I transferred from this practice to another surgery because I had negative experiences with the reception team, who I found to be unwelcoming and unhelpful. During one visit, when I requested to book an appointment, I was instructed to leave and call back instead. When I pointed out that I was already present at the surgery, I was told I would need to wait. More recently, my wife called requesting a repeat prescription and was spoken to in a sharp manner, being informed that calls needed to be made before 3pm and that her prescription would not be available until Monday. This was particularly frustrating given that my wife had made the effort to call despite being unwell and hospitalised for the week, which she had explained to the staff. There is no justification for speaking curtly to patients, and it is especially inappropriate when someone is dealing with illness.

Reception staff went above and beyond to help

My child has been experiencing ongoing difficulties with a foot issue for several months, causing considerable discomfort. I have contacted the practice multiple times, and each time I have been assisted by a receptionist who has been both courteous and compassionate. This staff member has consistently arranged appointments at the earliest available opportunity and has demonstrated genuine effort to provide support beyond standard assistance. I am very appreciative of the care and attention received. Thank you.

Reception staff made me feel genuinely understood

This is simply the best GP practice around. I've been registered here for many years and always had excellent care, support and advice. The reception staff are understanding, compassionate and friendly. The clinical staff are all great and particularly approachable, I actually look forward to my appointments, they're relaxed and help me feel at ease and I always have answers or a resolution. The nursing team also follow the same ethos. It's a shame all GP surgeries don't operate this way!!
