Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a practice with significant operational challenges alongside pockets of clinical excellence. The medical staff, particularly physicians, consistently receive praise for professionalism, compassion, and clinical competence, with several patients reporting long-term satisfaction spanning a decade or more. However, this strength is substantially undermined by widespread difficulties in access and communication. Appointment availability remains a persistent concern, with patients struggling to secure timely slots and facing restrictive same-day booking policies that limit advance planning. Phone responsiveness is a critical issue, with multiple reports of prolonged hold times, unanswered calls despite queue indicators, and lack of follow-up on promised callbacks.

Administrative and reception service presents the most serious problems. Patients report document misplacement during registration, prescription delays and communication failures to pharmacies, and unresponsive handling of refill requests. Reception staff conduct is frequently cited as problematic, ranging from dismissive attitudes toward urgent medical concerns to perceived lack of courtesy. Several patients describe a notable decline in service quality compared to earlier years, suggesting deterioration in operational standards. While some long-term patients remain satisfied with the clinical care, the combination of poor appointment access, weak phone communication, administrative errors, and reception difficulties creates substantial barriers to accessing that care.

Long wait times drove me crazy

Utterly frustrated with the general practice's phone service and communication. I attempted to contact them twice, spending more than 10 minutes on hold each time, despite being told I was next in line. No staff member ever picked up the call. This persistent issue has been a long-standing challenge that severely hampers patients' ability to access medical support.

Rude receptionists ruined my medical visit

The front desk staff are absolutely terrible, causing immense distress to patients. It's incomprehensible how they continue to operate this way, and one would think the doctor must be cognizant of their appalling behavior.

Frustrating wait for a simple callback

I phoned early Friday to seek medical consultation, feeling terrible and desperately needing a straightforward medication. After enduring an hour of constant redial and being on hold, the reception finally answered, promising a doctor would return my call that same day... Predictably, no call came, and even more frustrating was discovering my online scheduling system falsely indicated the appointment had occurred... Now I'm left suffering intense discomfort and pain until Monday, when I can only hope someone will finally pay attention to my medical needs. It's truly disappointing - a decade ago, this medical practice was exceptional: with warm, dependable receptionists, compassionate nurses, and genuinely professional, attentive physicians. Now it seems none of the staff demonstrate any genuine concern for their patients' well-being. What a decline.

Bad!

Rude reception staff ignored urgent medical need

The reception's handling of customer concerns is utterly deplorable. When reporting a critical medical situation where someone is struggling to breathe, their response is shockingly callous, questioning why the call wasn't made earlier in the day. This demonstrates an appalling lack of professionalism and basic human compassion. The staff's dismissive attitude towards an urgent health emergency is completely unacceptable and reflects a deeply flawed customer service approach.

Helpful docs, frustrating booking system

The medical staff are excellent, but the front desk communication is challenging. Their appointment scheduling system is restrictive, as they only allow bookings on the same day, which creates significant inconvenience for patients trying to plan ahead.

Dangerous medical record mix-up at practice

The administrative incompetence at this medical practice is utterly appalling, with doctors clearly neglecting to review patients' comprehensive medical histories. After 14 years, I discovered a horrifying error: when I registered in 2011, someone mistakenly attached another patient's malignant cervical neoplasia result to my medical record! This shocking revelation only came to light when my current GP practice referred me to hospital, revealing an alleged malignancy from 2011! I sincerely hope the individual whose result was incorrectly placed on my record is safe and healthy, but what's equally disturbing is that no physician at Knightsbridge Medical Practice ever questioned this anomaly. Why did no one investigate why I wasn't receiving corresponding treatment? Why was I never informed about this erroneous result? This aligns with another medical oversight - a H.Pylori test result reported as negative in 2013, which I later learned was actually positive. Consequently, I've endured years of constant stomach ulcers, severe reflux, and even risked transmitting H.Pylori to my child during pregnancy - all because reception staff incorrectly stated my result was negative, and no doctor bothered to review the original positive test. I've suffered needlessly throughout this entire period. Shame on KMC! This practice deserves to be permanently closed down.

Horrible appalling practice

Always new doctors there, now wonder how bad they are, always scared to give you medicine or to admit you have a medical issues, it took them 4 years to tell me what kind of thyroid problem I have. I have been shouted at by one of the seniors doctors because I have asked to have an appointment with him by name, how did I dare to choose my Dr!!! Anyway, they are useless, I am changing my GP now. I was blaming it on NHS, but no, it is the horrible practice. Avoid like Plague. It is like they are forced to have us on NHS, they prefer their paying private customers, I have seen how private patients are treated there compared to us on the NHS. Disgracefulness and hypocrisy is the big title there.

Terrible phone service at the surgery

Communication with this medical practice is extremely frustrating. Their telephone responsiveness is abysmal. I've personally been forced to shuttle between the hospital and their surgery location due to their poor contact methods. Repeatedly, I've experienced situations where the phone queue indicates I'm 4th or 9th in line, only to be met with complete silence and no resolution. Scheduling an appointment is consistently challenging, with success being the exception rather than the rule. The sole bright spot is that the physicians themselves are generally amiable and professional.
