Appointment access remains the dominant concern across feedback, with patients reporting persistent difficulties reaching the practice by phone, lengthy waiting periods to connect, and rapid depletion of available slots. Phone lines are frequently described as continuously busy during morning booking hours, with callers unable to secure consultations despite repeated attempts. Reception experience presents a mixed picture: while some patients praise welcoming and compassionate staff members, others report discourteous interactions and unhelpful responses to patient needs.
When appointments are eventually secured, patients generally report positive experiences with clinical care, with physicians frequently described as professional, competent, and compassionate. However, this positive clinical feedback is substantially overshadowed by systemic barriers preventing access to care. Additional concerns include delays in processing prescriptions, long waiting times once in the practice, and inconsistent communication about appointment availability and scheduling procedures. A smaller number of patients have experienced responsive communication and efficient booking, particularly when contacting the practice outside peak times or through alternative channels such as online consultations.

Terrible healthcare system fails patients and families
The appointment scheduling process here is absolutely horrendous. You're instructed to call at 8:30, but the phone lines are perpetually jammed. Even if you manage to get through after persistent attempts, all available slots are already taken! The most effective strategy is to select option 5 (for miscellaneous inquiries) and keep requesting alternative options, which ultimately connects you to the receptionists who should have initially responded on option 1 (a helpful insider tip). The problems with Laburnum's system are so numerous and complex that they're challenging to fully articulate. My mother, who has been a long-standing patient at this practice, is now compelling us to explore alternative medical facilities to guarantee she receives appropriate healthcare from her general practitioner. Avoid registering with this surgery at all costs.

Worst customer service ever avoid at all costs
Absolutely terrible customer support, I've attempted to contact them approximately 200 times and they consistently ignore my calls. I'm thoroughly frustrated and completely let down by their unprofessional behavior.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs
If I could award a rating even lower than zero, I absolutely would!!! This medical practice is an absolute embarrassment. Every single morning, I've been attempting to schedule an appointment for my daughter, making over 75 calls where the phone line remains perpetually busy from 8:45 to 9am, and when I finally manage to connect, an automated message informs me that all appointment slots are already filled. The level of care and customer service provided by this surgery is utterly unacceptable.

Frustrating service with impossible appointment booking system
For the past couple of days, I've been attempting to schedule an appointment between 8:30 and 9:00 AM, but the phone line remains consistently busy. When I finally succeeded in getting through, I discovered that all available time slots had mysteriously vanished. How can this possibly be happening? The line seems perpetually occupied, making it incredibly frustrating to book an appointment.

Frustrating experience with terrible appointment scheduling
Scheduling an appointment here is incredibly frustrating. I was instructed to call at 8:30, but the clinic doesn't even open until 8:45, and when I finally try to get through, the phone line remains constantly engaged.

Poor!
Terrible access but great doctors when you finally connect
Signed up recently and will be cancelling before ever seeing a general practitioner. It's impossible to secure an appointment or reach a live person through any means. I've been forced to seek private healthcare as a result. Avoid this practice if you're dealing with any significant medical concerns. UPDATE: After finally obtaining an appointment, I can confirm that both physicians I consulted were extremely competent and professional. The fundamental problem lies entirely with their appointment scheduling system.

Terrible healthcare service with unresponsive staff
No stars for Laburnum Health Centre. I underwent surgery on 12.10.2022 and was instructed by my doctor to visit the GP after 2 weeks to have my stitches removed. After 3 weeks, I contacted the GP, but they declined and directed me to the Walking Centre or 111. I tried calling these services, yet the Walking Centre never answered, and 111 provided no assistance. I repeatedly called the Walking Centre with no response. When I contacted the GP again, they refused to remove my stitches, claiming they had no available appointments. Despite multiple attempts to reach the Walking Centre, I received no help. One month post-surgery, I still have unremoved stitches after repeatedly being turned away by the GP. My fundamental question is: What is the purpose of a GP if they cannot provide essential services when patients need them? Why are they so indifferent to patient care? Are they merely in this profession for financial gain? My direct question to Laburnum Health Centre: How can I get my stitches removed after one month? And please do not redirect me to another medical institution. RESULTS: Following my message, the GP sent a link to immediately book a stitches removal appointment.

Mixed feelings about this medical practice
The medical professionals at this NHS surgery are truly exceptional, and I've consistently experienced high-quality care from the physicians. However, the reception staff are shockingly discourteous, pompous, and fundamentally unhelpful. While a few staff members demonstrate compassion and professionalism, others are completely unacceptable. I cannot comprehend why these individuals choose to work in healthcare when they appear to have zero interest in assisting patients with even the most basic requests. The reception team is remarkably inconsiderate and demonstrates a blatant disregard for their own established protocols and procedures.

Worst medical service ever terrible experience
I would rate this zero stars if possible. I scheduled an immunization appointment for my son a month in advance. When I called that morning to confirm the date and time, I arrived at the clinic only to be informed that my appointment was earlier and now it's too late, with the nurse no longer available. They arbitrarily shifted my appointment without any notification, then blamed me for the mix-up. The receptionist was incredibly discourteous and completely uninterested in assisting me.

Frustrating healthcare with impossible appointment system
The medical staff are truly excellent once you manage to secure a consultation, but the scheduling process is an absolute nightmare. The phone lines are perpetually busy, and by the time you actually get through, all available slots have vanished. I've been attempting to book an appointment for a week now, and the current system is completely dysfunctional. They urgently need to revert to a first-come, first-served approach that actually allows patients to see a doctor when they need medical attention.

Terrible gp service with impossible appointment booking
Getting an appointment at this GP is an absolute nightmare. Trying to book a slot by phone before they open is futile - every single time, they claim to be completely booked up. I seriously doubt they even have any doctors working there. The current NHS service feels more like a restrictive institution than a healthcare provider. It's incredibly frustrating and completely unacceptable.

Worst surgery ever terrible service and negligence
If I could rate this place lower than zero, I absolutely would. The reception team is incredibly discourteous. I've been waiting over a week for test results that were already available. Due to the severe negligence of the NHS and this specific surgery, I've nearly lost my life twice, and still nothing has changed. The extremely rude receptionist simply tells me to try again. Today, I called 328 times, constantly getting a busy signal, and when I finally get through after 30 minutes, all appointments are already gone. By my calculation, if each phone conversation takes 10 minutes, and all slots are filled in 30 minutes, they must only be working about 3 hours daily. I've been with this practice since childhood, and since Dr. Sharma's retirement, everything has fallen apart. Their new system is clearly broken, but they seem to not care and continue to destroy patients' lives. My strong advice: stay away from this surgery at all costs.

Terrible service and impossible to book appointments
I am utterly repulsed by the impossibility of scheduling a doctor's appointment. Not only am I barred from walking in, but I also can't connect via telephone! It is completely unacceptable, and as a long-time patient of this practice since childhood, I am deeply disheartened by the deteriorating quality of service. What is the purpose of having a phone line if it's perpetually engaged! They clearly require additional front desk personnel. Eventually, I was forced to utilize the 111 service to secure an appointment because of my urgent medical needs. This is not an isolated incident, and as a result, I will be transferring my medical care to another practice.

Terrible service and impossible to reach doctors
I've been a patient at this medical practice since childhood, and ever since Dr. Sharma departed, the quality has drastically declined. Their current administrative system is clearly ineffective. The phone lines are perpetually busy for half an hour, and when you finally connect, all appointment slots have mysteriously vanished. It's ridiculous - apparently they only allocate around 15 appointments per day. I underwent a blood test over three weeks ago, was informed of an issue, and have been attempting to contact them daily without success, which is completely unacceptable. If there are concerns with patient test results, the responsible approach would be for the doctor to proactively reach out. Should this turn out to be a serious medical matter, I've meticulously documented every single call attempt, including one day where I dialed 38 times, and I am prepared to pursue legal action if necessary.

Compassionate doctor goes above and beyond expectations
Securing a consultation at this medical practice is notoriously challenging, but I recently encountered an unexpectedly remarkable interaction that compels me to share my experience. During my consultation with Dr. Tommasa Palmiero, a junior physician, I received a prescription and was informed that a follow-up appointment would be scheduled for two weeks later, which was originally meant to be today. Although the appointment has been rescheduled for tomorrow, what truly impressed me was Dr. Palmiero's proactive approach—he personally called to verify the appointment's status and inquire about my well-being, noting he hadn't seen my name on the day's list. If only all medical professionals demonstrated such genuine commitment to patient care. Sincere gratitude to Dr. Tommasa Palmiero.

Frustrating experience with impossible appointment booking
It's impossible to schedule an appointment - I've been attempting to book for weeks now. Even when you manage to call early in the morning, all available time slots are already filled. They then instruct you to ring back at 1 pm after their lunch, but when you do at 1:05, they're still claiming to be closed. It's truly disappointing to witness such a reputable medical practice deteriorate to this level of inefficiency.

Terrible medical practice with frustrating appointment system
I'm utterly disgusted by this medical practice. They used to be reputable, but now they're terrible. For two weeks, I've been attempting to schedule an appointment via telephone, so I decided to visit in person, especially since their message states "Appointments for the doctor are available via telephone or face to face". On August 1st, 2022, I arrived at 8:28am and approached the desk at 8:30am. To my absolute astonishment, I was informed I must phone in and cannot book an appointment in person. How exclusionary is that?! What provisions exist for deaf individuals or those without phones?! Moreover, why does their telephone message claim appointments can be booked by phone or in-person (which I've recorded)? Even worse, I lingered and dialed multiple times between 8:30am and 8:32am, only to receive a message that the surgery is closed. Returning inside to inquire, I found staff casually chatting with no phones ringing. They insist the phone lines are open. I continued dialing until 9am, encountering only busy signals or closure messages. Observing through the glass doors, I noticed only one person occasionally answering the phone. They clearly weren't overwhelmed, which made me question their true intentions! At 9am, I finally got through, only to be told no appointments remain. They're bewildered why patients resort to A&E or hospital settings instead of attempting a GP appointment. I'll absolutely be changing practices - this is completely unacceptable!
