Patients report significant challenges accessing care at this practice, with appointment availability emerging as the most consistent concern. Phone lines experience persistent congestion, online booking systems frequently malfunction or remain unavailable during stated hours, and patients describe lengthy waits to reach reception staff. Communication failures are widespread, including delayed responses to messages, missed callbacks, and inadequate follow-up on clinical matters. Prescription processing encounters repeated delays and errors, sometimes leaving patients without essential medications for extended periods.
When contact is established, reception staff and some clinical team members receive praise for courtesy and professionalism, and individual doctors are occasionally noted as compassionate and efficient. However, these positive interactions are overshadowed by systemic access problems. Patients describe the triage system as complex and frustrating, with administrative staff sometimes making clinical judgments at reception. Several reviews reference a marked decline in service quality compared to pre-pandemic operations, with concerns about limited face-to-face consultations and reliance on telephone appointments that patients feel inadequate for proper diagnosis.
The practice appears caught between staff who demonstrate genuine care and systems that prevent effective service delivery. Patients express particular frustration with the contradiction between being advised to contact the surgery for non-emergencies while simultaneously being unable to reach anyone, and with online platforms that are either unavailable or require navigation through extensive automated menus. Multiple reviews indicate patients have transferred to alternative practices, citing the access barriers as untenable for managing ongoing health needs.

Stuck waiting with no callback help
I'm experiencing significant frustration with their triage system, which has been non-functional for the past 48 hours, apparently due to high call volume. I managed to speak with a representative who assured me she would consult a physician about my specific concern and follow up, but she has completely failed to do so. I'm left feeling completely abandoned and unsure of my next steps in resolving this matter.

Booking system frustration during morning hours
Instructed to utilize online booking within a specific time frame, but the system is shut down in the morning. What's the point of having an online booking system if it's consistently unavailable? This makes no sense and is incredibly frustrating.

Worst customer service in medical history
The personnel demonstrate an appalling lack of professionalism, dismissively disregarding the details of my concern and flatly preventing me from accessing medical consultation without any genuine attempt to understand the situation.

Dangerous delays and mixed-up care
Although the individual doctors seem competent when accessible, I'm astounded that Larwood surgery is permitted to continue operating due to numerous critical issues. Examples: - They delayed an urgent referral for essential tests by over a month, leaving me at significant risk with a blocked artery. Despite promises to investigate, nothing was ever done. - There's an excessive dependence on administrative staff for critical tasks and triage. Requests must be precisely worded, or urgent matters get dismissed by admin personnel following a rigid screening process. - They consistently prescribe medications for my son that contradict the consultant's recommendations, resulting in prolonged pain and multiple days of suffering. - The doctor repeatedly assured me I could bring my baby son for vaccinations after antibiotic treatment, yet each time the nurse confirmed he was ineligible due to being too soon after antibiotics. The practice manager claimed an investigation would occur and I'd be informed, but this never materialized. - The administrative staff range from exceptionally helpful to completely ineffective and unhelpful. - While at a distant pharmacy, the pharmacist mentioned they receive numerous complaints specifically about Larwood, which isn't typical for other GP practices. The problematic instances are seemingly endless.

Frustrating wait times for critical care
The system has completely failed me. Despite consistently contributing my fair share through taxes, I'm unable to secure a medical consultation when it's critically important. With worrying health concerns looming, I'm convinced that medical assistance will only arrive after my condition has become irreversible and potentially fatal.

Lewis and Dr ali saved the day
My recent experience with this medical practice over the past few weeks has been truly exceptional. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Lewis for his compassionate approach and comforting words. He demonstrated remarkable kindness and provided exceptional guidance while helping me arrange assistance for my mother. Lewis is an incredibly supportive individual who dedicated his time and showed remarkable patience during a challenging period - he truly is a star and an invaluable member of the team. Additionally, I must commend Dr. Ali for his outstanding bedside manner. It's been years since I've encountered a doctor who genuinely listens and takes decisive action on behalf of both myself and my mother. He has completely renewed my trust in general practitioners. My sincere thanks to everyone involved for maintaining such high standards of care, empathy, and support during times when patients most need reassurance ❤️

Urgent antibiotics delay puts health at risk
My companion visited a nurse practitioner on July 28th, 2025, at 4:15 pm for a severely infected bite that was showing signs of spreading up her arm, appearing intensely red and swollen. The healthcare provider prescribed antibiotics and assured her they would be electronically transmitted to the pharmacy. However, by 7 pm, the prescription had not been authorized by the physician, preventing the chemist from dispensing the medication. Consequently, she is now forced to delay her critical treatment until the following day, during which time her condition could potentially deteriorate. This level of service is completely unacceptable, and I am thoroughly frustrated by the lack of prompt medical attention.

Endless trouble with larwood's terrible service
Potentially the most disastrous medical facility in the United Kingdom. Here's what you can anticipate: Forgotten prescriptions. Absolute silence when errors occur (and they happen frequently). Complete unavailability. They appear to be in training 4 days per week, which is astounding as they remain incompetent in their roles. When not training, they're "only handling urgent consultations." Staff range from being incredibly warm and welcoming, to utterly indifferent individuals who clearly resent speaking with patients. These interactions seem to shift without any discernible pattern. Navigating their phone system requires enduring 8 working days of pre-recorded messages when you need to contact them. This is necessary due to the constant complications they generate. Upon finally reaching someone, their operational procedures apparently depend entirely on the individual phone operator's interpretation. Or rather, excuse me, "Super Special Sparkly Awesome Doctor Nurse Practitioner Triaging Specialist™" or whatever elaborate titles they're assigning to receptionists this week. Abysmal. I cannot emphasize this strongly enough: I genuinely believe a random pedestrian would manage my healthcare more effectively than anyone at Larwood.

Waiting weeks for test results frustration
I missed an important phone call on Friday regarding my test results. They promised to call me back on Monday, but that didn't happen. Then they said they would phone me yesterday, and again, nothing. It's now Wednesday, and I still haven't heard anything. This situation is becoming absolutely ridiculous. I'm simply desperate to learn about my test results.

Endless form drama after months of waiting
I've been waiting on a form for 4.5 months now! Despite repeatedly asking (over 15 times) and being assured it's with a doctor, I'm still without it. Yesterday morning, they claimed it was complete and in the green tray, but couldn't locate it. When I returned in the afternoon, I was forced to wait 30 minutes while they 'updated the form', only to be told it would now go to a doctor. Here I am today at 3:30 pm, and guess what? Still no form. I'm here to see a diabetic nurse and was sent a blood test form at 12:13, just 3 hours before my appointment - clearly not enough time to get results. To make matters worse, the blood test form was a duplicate from April, which the hospital rejected as it had already been used. STAY AWAY!!! Find somewhere even REMOTELY competent!!!!!!

Cruel staff ignored my painful leg
Larwood Surgery demonstrates a total lack of compassion, with staff treating patients as mere statistics and displaying zero emotional understanding of individual care requirements. I endured a six-week wait for an appointment to obtain a prescription I had to purchase, and the physician or staff member supposedly designated to contact me claimed they attempted to reach me via voicemail, despite my not having such a service activated. Upon visiting the Surgery, they remained indifferent even as I visibly suffered, weeping from leg pain, with no offer of assistance or support.

Worst care ever at this clinic
The absolute worst medical practice imaginable. Their staff - from administrators to physicians - are completely incompetent. Nobody seems motivated or professional, and they consistently ignore timelines and proper protocols. They appear to delay taking action until a patient's condition becomes critically serious, or perhaps they're simply unable to diagnose the underlying issues.

Frustrating systems at front desk
It's unfortunate that numerous negative reviews plague this practice. I'm convinced the front desk personnel are genuinely striving to manage and navigate the challenging systems imposed on them. I concur that in our era of advanced technology, the practice's processes appear neither rational nor user-friendly from a patient's perspective. The entire approach seems completely disconnected! Having previously worked in environments where customer-interface systems were woefully inadequate, often designed by teams with minimal understanding of customer service, I recognize these are straightforward issues to resolve. Just implement the necessary changes. The potential improvements could be truly remarkable.

Triage system is a total nightmare
The smart triage system they use is incredibly frustrating. Scheduling an appointment is a major challenge. Their telehealth approach is completely impractical for professionals - they assign a broad time window but can randomly contact you anytime that day, making it impossible to plan or find a quiet workspace. If alternative medical practices were available, I'd switch immediately. I deeply regret leaving my previous healthcare provider.

Compassionate doctor calmed my nerves
During my visit with Dr. Ozcelik, I found him to be exceptionally courteous and compassionate. He effectively calmed my nerves and provided a clear explanation of each step of the examination. As someone who typically experiences anxiety during medical appointments, I truly valued his gentle approach and reassuring demeanor. I hope he maintains this wonderful bedside manner that helps patients feel comfortable and understood.

Chickenpox booking nightmare with smart triage
I was trying to schedule an appointment for my daughter, who is battling a serious recurrence of chickenpox. I desperately needed confirmation for our upcoming flight to process an insurance claim. Unfortunately, the "Smart Triage" system proved to be incredibly aggravating. After meticulously entering all required information, I was halted from moving forward due to an alleged email address problem, even though I used the same email connected to my NHS app. The system demanded that I update my details and contact reception, which became yet another hurdle. When I attempted to phone in, I was forced to input my date of birth and phone number through the keypad. Despite providing accurate information, I was once again blocked because my details supposedly could not be verified—a truly maddening experience. This entire process is inefficient, exasperating, and completely unacceptable, particularly for urgent medical needs. The system desperately requires significant overhaul to ensure patients can access necessary care without unnecessary complications. At present, it seems virtually impossible to obtain assistance unless one is facing a life-threatening emergency, which is simply intolerable.
