Terrible healthcare delays left me permanently damaged

I endured an excruciatingly long wait of nearly two years to secure an in-person medical consultation, which ultimately proved futile. Eventually, I met with a paramedic who seemed uncertain about my condition, though they apparently referred me to the hand unit at Bognor Regis. To summarize, I underwent surgery in December 2024 but was warned that the prolonged delay in my treatment might permanently compromise sensation in my hand. Moving to January 2025, I again experienced only a brief telephone consultation with a physician. Based on my medical history, he indicated he would refer me to Worthing Colonoscopy. After waiting over six months, I was finally seen and treated, but the consultant revealed that my case should have been classified as urgent, requiring attention within 7 to 10 days. Did the doctor even bother reviewing my medical records? The healthcare service provided by Lime Tree Surgery has been nothing short of abysmal. My recommendation is simple: steer clear of this practice at all costs!

My initial online inquiry was promptly addressed, with a blood test form provided in preparation for my GP consultation, and my previous medications were seamlessly transferred. The social prescribers proactively reached out to confirm my repeat prescriptions were all in order. During my 9am appointment at the Goring site, I met Dr. Lillian, who was incredibly kind, meticulous, and empathetic. We developed a clear plan for necessary medical investigations. I also needed a follow-up blood test due to a previous raised result, which I conveniently completed at 12pm. The nurse was wonderfully compassionate and helped me feel completely at ease. As someone who struggles with anxiety, reaching out to a new medical practice can be challenging. However, Lime Tree has far surpassed my expectations in every way. The Goring site is immaculately clean and welcoming, and its beachfront location allowed me a few moments to compose myself before leaving. I wholeheartedly recommend this practice!

Frustrating delay in medical communication and care

Received a phone consultation on Friday, June 20th, supposedly from a physician but actually conducted by a nurse. I was informed that an X-ray for my neck and shoulder would be scheduled. (On Sunday, June 22nd, I suffered a severe fall, landing on my back and striking the back of my head) By Tuesday, July 1st, I had received no update. I returned to the medical practice and consulted with a courteous Receptionist. It was revealed that the referral form remains unsigned by the Doctor! I find this level of service completely unacceptable and deeply frustrating!

I visited to get ear wax removal, and I was let down by the rushed and incomplete service. Despite using ear drops for a fortnight, the cleaning was superficial and inadequate. If they had done a thorough job, I wouldn't need to repeat the entire process.

On this particular visit, the customer service fell far short of expectations. I arrived slightly ahead of schedule, only to discover my appointment was not at my regular Goring location, but instead at Findon. The text message reminder was frustratingly vague, merely mentioning Lime Tree Surgery without specifying the exact site. Consequently, I went to my registered surgery. The Goring receptionist was somewhat helpful and claimed she would contact Findon to inform them of my situation, though I cannot confirm whether this actually occurred. Upon reaching Findon, I encountered a lengthy queue and was unable to check in electronically, apparently due to my perceived lateness. I explained my predicament to the reception staff, who instructed me to wait. After another ten minutes, a receptionist emerged to announce that the nurse had decided to cancel my asthma review, and I would need to reschedule by phone. I attempted to convey the difficulty of initially booking the appointment and apologized for the mix-up, but they insisted I should have verified the location. However, I was unaware of the venue change until arriving at my usual surgery. This entire inconvenience could have been easily prevented if the text reminder had specifically stated "Lime Tree Findon" instead of the generic "Lime Tree Surgery". Frankly, the service was thoroughly unsatisfactory.
