Feedback on this GP practice reveals a deeply divided patient experience, with significant operational challenges overshadowing pockets of clinical excellence. The most consistent concern across reviews is appointment access, with patients reporting difficulty reaching the practice by phone, booking system failures, and extended waiting times for consultations. The online booking platform and Ask My GP service are frequently described as unreliable and prone to crashing, leaving patients unable to secure timely appointments. Reception experience emerges as a particular pain point, with multiple accounts of unhelpful, dismissive, or discourteous interactions that compound frustration with access difficulties.
Communication breakdowns are widely reported, including delayed callbacks, prescription processing failures, and poor coordination between the practice and pharmacy. Several patients describe feeling unsupported when seeking urgent care or follow-up on medical concerns. However, individual doctors and nursing staff receive consistent praise for compassionate care, attentiveness, and professional expertise. Patients highlight specific clinicians who demonstrated genuine concern for their wellbeing and provided thorough, supportive consultations.
The contrast between clinical care quality and systemic service failures suggests that while medical professionals at the practice are capable and caring, organisational issues around appointment availability, booking systems, reception courtesy, and communication responsiveness require urgent attention to improve the overall patient experience.

Frustrating healthcare system wastes my time
They advise consulting your general practitioner, but it's unavailable, and they just send you on a wild goose chase. These individuals deserve to be reported to the Care Quality Commission for their substandard approach.

Terrible healthcare that left me misdiagnosed and suffering
This medical practice is a complete disappointment of incompetent staff who seem indifferent to patient health. I've visited multiple times, always leaving without proper medical assessment. Their standard response is dismissing everything as a viral infection, recommending only paracetamol and hydration. After three unsuccessful attempts to receive care, I developed severe sinusitis and ultimately required antibiotics from a private physician at my own expense. I lost three weeks of unpaid work and remain unwell due to their lack of understanding about my condition. They refused an in-person consultation, casually suggesting it was just a virus that would resolve in weeks. A private specialist warned that further delay could lead to potentially life-threatening sepsis. Another instance involved my iron and vitamin D deficiency, which they repeatedly tested and claimed was normal, despite my private test results proving otherwise. When I presented evidence, the doctor repeatedly questioned my mental health, attempting to suggest my concerns were psychological simply because I sought proper medical attention. To add insult to injury, I requested name corrections from their reception multiple times over two years, yet they never resolved this basic administrative error.

Great!
Reliable healthcare with minor booking frustrations
I've been a patient at this practice for two years, requiring appointments about twice monthly due to ongoing undiagnosed health concerns. Their AskMyGp service consistently provides same-day appointments and prescriptions, with only a couple of exceptions during late summer/autumn 2022. While I'm not fond of seeing a different doctor each visit, each physician has been compassionate, welcoming, and committed to finding an appropriate solution for me. I recognize there are numerous negative reviews, and certain organizational aspects—like only being able to schedule appointments at 8am—can be frustrating. It's particularly challenging when I must await a callback at an unpredictable time, especially since my work prevents me from using my phone, often causing me to miss medical consultations. Nevertheless, the standard of care is outstanding. Physicians frequently follow up with calls or texts after appointments to provide additional information or elaborate on questions raised during our consultation. They're also proactive about tracking hospital referrals on my behalf, saving me considerable administrative effort. Ultimately, I'm very satisfied with the care at Limelight, though I believe their booking system could definitely use some improvement.

Carol, the manager, is excellent and supportive, but some of the staff seem lacking in experience and unsure of their responsibilities.

Frustrating medical communication nightmare with limelight
Utterly frustrating. I underwent 24-hour heart rate and blood pressure monitoring at Trafford General (TG) last October. Limelight claimed they didn't receive BP results and texted me to follow up myself! After countless attempts leaving voicemails, I finally reached a human today! TG insists they sent all results to Limelight back in November and I shouldn't have been tasked with tracking them down. TG cannot directly send me the results; they must go through Limelight. They say they've resent the results today. So we're essentially back to square one. This represents one of the most absurd instances in a long series of Limelight's incompetencies and has finally pushed me to share my experience. Steer clear if possible.

Worst medical service ever encountered in my life
THIS MEDICAL PRACTICE IS A COMPLETE DISASTER!!! The reception staff are incredibly discourteous beyond belief. Whenever you contact the clinic, you have a genuine concern, yet their standard response is always "call back at 8am tomorrow" . When I explained - "I've been suffering for over a week, I've already tried self-medication, rest, and followed NHS guidance and need urgent medical advice" - their shocking reply was simply "call 999 then". My astonishment doesn't even begin to describe how appalling their service is. They're so terrible that they make a zero-star rating look generous. ❌👎🏽❌👎🏽❌👎🏽❌👎🏽❌👎🏽❌👎🏽❌👎🏽❌

Terrible service at local charging station nightmare
This establishment is a complete embarrassment. I reside nearby and have a charging point installed by my car charging service, for which I pay a subscription. I called to confirm usage and was initially directed to return the following day, only to be confronted by an incredibly discourteous staff member who flatly denied my access. Some "local hub" this is - absolutely no understanding of community spirit whatsoever.

Excellent!
Rough start but now truly caring healthcare team
Initially, I gave a one-star rating because, especially for someone relocating to Manchester, medical records often seemed to get misplaced. The physicians were initially unclear about my situation, making the first year with this GP practice incredibly challenging as I wrongly assumed my medical history was properly transferred. Despite early difficulties, I can't criticize them, particularly the female doctors. COVID-19 significantly complicated their work, but when I finally got an appointment and expressed my frustration—which many patients share—they didn't just offer empty apologies. They took concrete action. I've been appropriately referred to necessary specialists, received numerous follow-up calls and messages, even when my own communication has been limited due to illness. I now genuinely feel these doctors truly care about my well-being. They've thoroughly examined my case, provided support for both my physical and mental health, and even assisted me through the PIP application process by helping gather essential evidence. While imperfections remain, the improvements since COVID are remarkable, and I commend the entire team for their dedication.

Bad!
Worst medical practice ever with unhelpful staff
I'm awarding one star, and that's only because Google doesn't permit a lower rating. This is arguably the most frustrating, inefficient, and indifferent service imaginable, particularly regarding the reception staff. Every single call I make results in being bounced around, instructed to email, use their app, etc., which frequently fails or doesn't even display the doctor's name I'm attempting to contact. When I highlight these issues to the receptionist, she casually suggests trying again later, as if I have unlimited time to waste attempting to schedule an appointment for a condition causing me extreme discomfort. I then request a simple repeat medication prescription for a treatment I've been on for years; she again dismisses me, insisting I use their app. I explain my previous app struggles that left me without crucial medication for an extended period due to inexplicable request failures: she claims complete helplessness. Numerous instances exist where I've been completely mishandled, waiting MONTHS for repeat medications because of receptionists' blatant incompetence - whether through deliberate delays, pure forgetfulness, or outright ignoring my prescription requests. Hospital appointment delays have been equally ridiculous, with messages consistently failing to reach doctors. The service is so poor that you'd receive more professional treatment from a cut-rate fast-food joint. If possible, STEER CLEAR!!

Disappointing surgery with multiple communication issues
I found this medical experience unsatisfactory. The telephone prescription repeatedly failed to reach the pharmacy, causing multiple issues. I was compelled to seek a private consultation, including an MRI and blood work. While they conducted tests beyond my vitamin D deficiency concern, I remain quite unwell today. Unable to secure an appointment, I was forced to contact NHS directly. After receiving a call from my GP, I've marginally improved my overall rating to a 3.

Frustrating gp service with unreliable online booking
The practice promotes their askmygp platform for scheduling consultations with doctors, but the service is frequently unavailable, even during their advertised operating hours. It's actually more straightforward to sit in the emergency department than to attempt contacting a GP who might potentially conduct an in-person examination.

Nurse Liz saved the day with exceptional care
Nurse Liz deserves a perfect rating. Her exceptional care and warmth always made me feel comfortable during my visits. She was incredibly courteous and attentive, going above and beyond by quickly scheduling an urgent appointment to address my surgical wound dressing. Her professionalism and compassion were so remarkable that I would give her more than the maximum rating if possible. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the other staff, as the general practitioners and reception team seemed somewhat discourteous.

Worst medical experience ever avoid this place
This place is utterly disappointing and will only bring frustration. They deserve absolutely zero stars. You'd have better luck seeking medical advice from a spiritual healer or traditional practitioner. If any alternative treatment option exists, take it immediately. The medical staff seems like inexperienced trainees conducting reckless experiments, with emphasis on the failures. Steer clear of this facility at all expenses!!!

Absolutely terrible general practitioner! What's the use of having a GP if they're perpetually unavailable? The reception staff are completely useless, and I'm eager to find a new medical practice as soon as possible!

Terrible service from uncaring and unhelpful gp practice
I've encountered the most ineffective general practitioner imaginable, who demonstrates zero concern for their patients' well-being. Getting in touch with this practice has been an absolute nightmare, and their online consultation system is utterly pointless. They consistently fail to follow through on any medical concerns, leaving patients like myself completely abandoned. I'm experiencing significant health challenges, and I genuinely feel entirely unsupported by this medical practice.
