Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience with significant variation in service quality across different areas of the practice. While many patients praise the compassionate care, professional medical staff, and supportive nursing team, substantial concerns emerge around appointment availability and booking processes. Multiple patients report difficulty accessing phone lines, with complaints about lengthy automated messages, unanswered calls, and a chaotic 8am booking window that creates barriers for those unable to call at that specific time. Reception experience is inconsistent, with some patients describing courteous and helpful staff while others report dismissive or discourteous interactions.
Communication failures and responsiveness issues appear throughout the feedback, including delayed callbacks, incomplete administrative processes, and insufficient attention to patient concerns. Several patients describe challenges with continuity of care, difficulty reaching regular physicians, and reliance on locum or trainee doctors. Waiting times for appointments and diagnostic procedures are frequently cited as problematic, with some patients reporting delays of several weeks. The practice environment and accessibility for patients with mobility needs receive positive mentions, though care quality consistency remains a concern, with some patients reporting diagnostic errors or inadequate clinical assessments.
Patients with chronic conditions and those requiring routine rather than emergency appointments appear particularly affected by current booking arrangements. While the practice demonstrates capability in emergency response and compassionate care delivery in many cases, systemic issues with appointment access, communication, and administrative efficiency create unnecessary barriers to essential medical services and contribute to patient frustration and loss of confidence in the service.

Excellent!
Compassionate doctors who truly care about patients
I've relocated multiple times, and this medical practice stands out as the finest I've encountered. The reception staff are delightful, and while I acknowledge that securing appointments can be challenging, this is more a reflection of broader healthcare system constraints rather than a specific shortcoming of this practice. You can still call on the day for urgent consultations, and they're exceptionally responsive during emergencies. Moreover, the physicians are compassionate and genuinely attentive to your concerns. They truly dedicate time to understanding your medical needs. 😃

Exceptional care and compassion at medical center
I want to express my gratitude to the entire staff at Limes for their exceptional care this morning. The receptionist, nurse, and doctor were all incredibly supportive and attentive. I truly appreciate the kindness and assistance I received during my visit.

Rude receptionists make healthcare experience miserable
The staff at the front desk consistently display a lack of warmth and hospitality. Despite multiple visits, I've yet to encounter a single receptionist who demonstrates genuine friendliness. Their demeanor is far from what one would expect in a field supposedly centered on compassionate service.

Frustrating delays ruin healthcare experience for patient
Extremely unsatisfactory. In my last two scheduled visits, I experienced significant delays of 4 and 6 weeks respectively. The wait for even fundamental diagnostic procedures stretched to 4 weeks. I'm now compelled to seek private healthcare, as the National Health Service is currently unable to provide timely medical attention.

Terrible service and staff at limes medical practice
Newly added - today, 20/01/2025. Why are the staff at Limes so incredibly unprofessional towards patients? I was verbally attacked over the phone by Louise when I inquired about my missing emergency hospital referral from 8 weeks ago - apparently, Limes never submitted the referral, and they somehow blamed me for questioning this. Unbelievable! I've been with this practice for years, but this recent experience perfectly explains the numerous negative reviews. A straightforward request - a form for an organization I'm involved with - was first submitted on 20th August with a pre-addressed, stamped envelope. The form never reached its destination, and when I followed up, I received nothing but excuses about how they aren't obligated to complete forms, contradictory timelines, and a complete lack of helpfulness or proactivity. I brought in another copy of the form and was told to wait 24 hours and collect it myself. When I called to check its status, I was met with pure obstruction - I was informed the designated doctor was away for two weeks. Clearly unacceptable. After persistent pressure, I secured a promise that another doctor would complete it. This morning, I collected a sealed envelope, only to discover upon opening it that the form remained totally incomplete. Returning to the surgery, the form was taken to the 'secretaries' and returned to me with a message that the required sections were 'optional'! If I could express my frustration more strongly, I would! They hadn't even filled out the most basic section stating the condition name. This is elementary paperwork, yet seemingly impossible for these incompetent, negative staff. This delay is now directly impacting me, caused entirely by the doctors' surgery. I'm astounded at being treated with such utter contempt.

Disappointing medical care leading to patient distress
I'd rather not delve into extensive specifics, but this medical practice has significantly deteriorated over the past three years. I feel profoundly disappointed and have consequently switched healthcare providers. Throughout my experience, I've endured 3 miscarriages, repeatedly seeking support, only to be dismissed when my concerns were actually valid. I now understand these losses could have been prevented. Additionally, my 1-year-old was missed for vaccinations on two separate instances, requiring my persistent follow-up. Furthermore, my eldest son has been struggling with a medical condition for 18 months, yet I've been offered merely one in-person consultation, with the remainder being telephone interactions. The staff have also misplaced two critical forms submitted at reception, which consequently delayed crucial investigations for my child. I am seriously considering escalating these issues to the Clinical Commissioning Group. Since their merger with Blackwell, the practice seems overwhelmed, and I no longer feel confident in the care they provide.

Terrible healthcare experience with dismissive staff
I cannot endorse this medical practice. Despite the Blackwell merger supposedly addressing scheduling delays, no tangible progress has been made. Communication and appointment access remain problematic: -Telephone systems are nearly impossible to navigate -Scheduling appointments requires weeks of advance planning -Receptionist interactions are frequently confrontational and uncooperative -The medical staff displays significant bias, with most physicians dismissing patients with disabilities or chronic conditions in a deeply discriminatory manner -Primary care documentation is consistently inaccurate and incomplete

Inconsistent service and frustrating medical experience
While many of the general practitioners are supportive and kind, there are a few who display a concerning lack of professionalism. Additionally, the overall medical practice's administrative setup and patient access are significantly subpar and frustrating.

Terrible healthcare leaving patient in severe pain
Securing a GP appointment is an absolute nightmare. The recent callback I received was utterly bewildering. I detailed my 10-day struggle with intense, debilitating abdominal pain that's completely immobilizing. Their response? Diagnosing me with hip arthritis and recommending ibuprofen and paracetamol for a week. I'm intimately aware of my body, and there's absolutely no hip pain present. Even more frustrating, they provided no referral for blood tests to validate their questionable diagnosis. I'm left in agony, with my only recourse being A&E, where I'll likely be told to consult a GP as it's not an emergency. Previously, a similar situation occurred where doctors dismissed my symptoms as IBS, but I ultimately required surgery removing a cyst, ovary, and fallopian tube. With my medical history including cervical cancer and abnormal cell complications, their negligence is shocking. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this medical practice to anyone unless they're seeking potential harm. I will definitively be changing healthcare providers.

Dangerous healthcare practice with multiple serious failures
I am compelled to switch healthcare providers due to a series of unacceptable and critical mistakes by this GP Practice: 1) They lost my referral letter, causing a devastating delay in my diagnosis by almost 9 months. This negligence has directly impacted my medical treatment, with my major surgery now postponed for over 18 months, significantly extending my waiting time. 2) The practice has violated GDPR regulations by inappropriately accessing my medical records and mistakenly handling documentation belonging to another patient. 3) Chronic issues with repeat prescriptions have occurred, with staff incorrectly claiming reviews are necessary when they are not. This has resulted in both myself and my husband being left without crucial medications for serious health conditions. 4) The reception staff are consistently discourteous, demonstrating a complete lack of attentiveness to patient concerns and an extremely sluggish approach to rectifying their own errors.

Getting an appointment here is challenging at best. Called right at 8am, first in line, yet still no available slots—just one emergency phone consultation. This recurring issue is utterly ridiculous and frustrating.

Great!
Mixed feelings about my local gp practice
The medical professionals here are top-notch, provided you can secure a consultation, and the healthcare assistants and most reception staff are wonderfully compassionate. They truly deserve recognition for their efforts. While there are numerous locum and part-time physicians who are generally competent, they lack the deep patient connections established by the regular doctors. Regrettably, a few staff members demonstrate a striking inability to engage effectively with patients, potentially reflecting personal challenges. The most significant frustration is the appointment booking process, which resembles a chaotic telephone lottery at 8 am and 8:15, with success being highly improbable. One might wonder if resource allocation is equitable across practices, or if it's simply a matter of collecting fees without genuine commitment. Having been a patient here since 1984, I was thoroughly satisfied and never experienced difficulties accessing medical care until around 2019. Currently, my disappointment is profound. This four-star rating is more a testament to long-standing loyalty than a reflection of the current challenges in obtaining timely medical attention when unwell and in genuine need.

Exceptional healthcare with compassion and genuine care
I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for The Limes Surgery. Having resided and worked across multiple regions in the UK and Wales, I can confidently state that this medical practice surpasses all others we've encountered. Their service, warmth, compassion, and support are truly exceptional 👏... from the welcoming reception staff to the doctors we've consulted, and most crucially, the PHENOMENAL nursing team!!! I am immensely grateful for the incredible care provided during my medical treatment. My sincere hope is that The Limes Surgery could serve as a model for healthcare practices nationwide, demonstrating the gold standard of patient care. Congratulations 👏, a well-deserved 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Greedy doctors ruin healthcare at this practice
It's become clear that these doctors are managing multiple practices, which compromises the quality of service they provide. The practice appears more focused on GREED and extracting NHS MONEY by running numerous clinics rather than delivering proper care. Securing an appointment with your regular doctor is nearly impossible as they're constantly absent, working at other locations. This situation is unacceptable, and more patients should report this practice to the NHS regional complaints service. Diagnostic errors are frequent, along with mistakes in repeat prescriptions. The staff seem more interested in chatting in groups at the back of reception than assisting patients. They appear primarily concerned with defending the absent doctors and avoiding accountability. Their approach prioritizes phone triage with temporary TRAINEE doctors over face-to-face consultations with your usual physician. The practice was significantly better under Dr Parkin's leadership, but since his departure, the professionalism of both doctors and reception staff has deteriorated to an embarrassing level. I believe this practice is now entirely focused on operating multiple clinics for financial gain rather than providing QUALITY CARE. Phone lines frequently go unanswered, and staff do everything possible to avoid direct contact. Patients are typically assigned a trainee temporary doctor or Pontefract, who seems to be the only consistently present physician. The others are essentially AWOL. In my opinion, this practice is NO LONGER FIT FOR PURPOSE and is failing its patients dramatically. Visiting the surgery often means finding minimal or no staff present, demonstrating a complete lack of doctor attendance. Without multiple manned phone lines, it's impossible to imagine how sick patients can secure appointments during the mandatory 8 a.m. booking window. There's no consideration for shift workers or those who prefer later wake times. Ultimately, this practice PUTS PRESSURE ON A&E.
