Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reflects a mixed experience with significant variation in service quality across different areas of the practice. While many patients praise the compassionate care, professional medical staff, and supportive nursing team, substantial concerns emerge around appointment availability and booking processes. Multiple patients report difficulty accessing phone lines, with complaints about lengthy automated messages, unanswered calls, and a chaotic 8am booking window that creates barriers for those unable to call at that specific time. Reception experience is inconsistent, with some patients describing courteous and helpful staff while others report dismissive or discourteous interactions.

Communication failures and responsiveness issues appear throughout the feedback, including delayed callbacks, incomplete administrative processes, and insufficient attention to patient concerns. Several patients describe challenges with continuity of care, difficulty reaching regular physicians, and reliance on locum or trainee doctors. Waiting times for appointments and diagnostic procedures are frequently cited as problematic, with some patients reporting delays of several weeks. The practice environment and accessibility for patients with mobility needs receive positive mentions, though care quality consistency remains a concern, with some patients reporting diagnostic errors or inadequate clinical assessments.

Patients with chronic conditions and those requiring routine rather than emergency appointments appear particularly affected by current booking arrangements. While the practice demonstrates capability in emergency response and compassionate care delivery in many cases, systemic issues with appointment access, communication, and administrative efficiency create unnecessary barriers to essential medical services and contribute to patient frustration and loss of confidence in the service.

Bad!

Frustrating medical service with zero accessibility

Trying to contact this medical practice is a nightmare. When they eventually pick up, it's either fully booked or a staff member with a terrible demeanor answers. To make matters worse, I haven't been able to see my regular physician or any competent doctor for months, as they're perpetually absent. I've got no issue with trainees, but I'm not paying for a consultation where someone is just going to speculate about my health. I can do random guesswork for free at home...

Exceptional healthcare experience at my local surgery

In all my two decades residing in the United Kingdom, I can confidently say this medical practice stands out as the absolute pinnacle of healthcare I've experienced. Every single staff member, starting from the welcoming reception team to the incredibly compassionate physicians, demonstrated exceptional attentiveness and warmth. Their professionalism and genuine care were remarkable. I cannot possibly endorse this surgery more enthusiastically. My deepest gratitude to everyone involved.

Painless procedure with caring and supportive staff

I accompanied my spouse during his vasectomy at this clinic, and the experience was exceptional. The medical team allowed me to be present in the room, which helped him feel supported during the procedure. He was made to feel completely at ease, despite the potentially uncomfortable situation. Everything went smoothly, and he was in good spirits afterward, which speaks volumes about the quality of care. The entire staff was incredibly kind and hospitable, creating a welcoming environment that put us both at ease ☺️

Compassionate care that truly makes a difference

My spouse has merely been a patient for a fortnight and has already received two home consultations due to his limited mobility. I cannot express enough gratitude to the medical staff, and I want to give special recognition to Debbie and Jane, the two receptionists I've interacted with, who have been absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much xx

Worst medical experience ever painful procedure nightmare

I brought my partner to this clinic for a vasectomy, and they performed the procedure without any pain management or numbing. He's now experiencing excruciating pain and was fully conscious during the entire process, expressing deep regret about the decision. I strongly advise against choosing this medical facility for such a sensitive procedure.

Compassionate doctor helps autism parent find answers

Following numerous critical remarks about the medical procedure, I wanted to provide insight into my personal encounter. I had several questions concerning my autistic child, and Dr. Poitifract kindly scheduled a phone consultation. We are immensely grateful for his exceptional service—he was incredibly supportive and whenever he was uncertain about a response, he diligently researched to find the answer. He even went the extra mile and arranged a follow-up appointment to guide us further. Our sincere appreciation goes out to him.

Lifelong patient praises exceptional medical care

I've been a patient at this practice since the days of Dr. Townsend and Dr. Whitney, and my respect for the medical team has never wavered. Although my visits are infrequent, whenever I do come in, the staff is incredibly prompt and handles my care with remarkable speed and professionalism.

Terrible doctor with unprofessional and harmful behavior

Hi, if you're considering consulting Dr. Bright, I strongly advise seeing a different physician. He was extremely dismissive and provided me with inaccurate information. When patients seek medical assistance, they expect support and proper guidance, which I did not receive. Dr. Bright's bedside manner is absolutely terrible. AVOID THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Terrible service for special needs patient's blood test

I brought my autistic son with special requirements to get his blood drawn, and despite an unavoidable 12-minute delay caused by a road accident, we were turned away. The receptionist tried to help, but the nurse was completely inflexible. This is hands-down the most unprofessional medical practice I've ever encountered. The nursing staff seem lazy and overly compensated, with no consideration for patients' circumstances.

Terrible service for a worried parent's sick child

Dealing with a medical issue for my one-year-old turned into an incredibly frustrating experience. The initial phone call was met with an unhelpful and dismissive female receptionist who took an excessive amount of time to answer. At 10 am on 09/09/21, the phone queue was ridiculous. When I requested her name to file a complaint about her poor attitude, she refused to identify herself. I was flatly denied both an emergency appointment and a face-to-face consultation for my child. I was simply told I would receive a callback, which eventually came around 5 pm after waiting all day. Upon collecting the prescription, I discovered the medication dosage was inappropriate and potentially dangerous for a toddler of my son's age. The receptionist's only response was to coldly suggest I take him to the hospital. This was outrageous - unnecessarily burdening hospital resources for something that should have been easily manageable through an NHS-funded GP service. When I tried to explain that I couldn't administer the medication due to my son being bitten, and the pharmacy's refusal to dispense it, I was met with further indifference.

Frustrating healthcare maze leaves patient utterly confused

The medical staff's absence continues to frustrate me. I was sent a communication from Limes instructing me to reach out to the clinic for scheduling. However, when I attempted to do so, an automated message informed me that booking directly through the surgery is not possible. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.

Frustrating health provider booking system hurts patients

My issue revolves around the inability to schedule a routine appointment with my healthcare provider during their operational hours. Many clinics restrict booking to morning hours, which might work for urgent cases, but seems counterintuitive for patients with chronic conditions who don't require immediate attention. While it's understandable to reserve morning slots for emergencies, converting the entire booking system to morning-only creates a chaotic bottleneck of calls, making it challenging to get through, compounded by lengthy, repetitive COVID-related messages that further frustrate both patients and staff. Patients with chronic or potentially serious conditions often don't seek help immediately after experiencing symptoms, but rather after multiple recurrences. The current system is ineffective because it doesn't accommodate their specific needs, potentially causing delays in treatment as patients may hesitate to call the next morning due to uncertainty. The approach seems more focused on meeting administrative targets than providing quality healthcare, which unfairly places additional stress on reception staff who are caught in the middle of this inefficient process. It shouldn't be an unreasonable expectation to simply contact your healthcare provider and request an appointment. The current system prioritizes bureaucratic metrics over patient care and convenience, creating unnecessary barriers to accessing essential medical services.

Negligent care left my baby suffering needlessly

I brought my 10-month-old infant to the medical facility with a severe cough, audible wheezing, and congested breathing. After measuring his temperature and using a stethoscope to examine his lungs - which seemed to suggest a potential chest infection - they simply advised continuing Calpol and monitoring his condition. Subsequently, his symptoms have deteriorated, and after contacting 111, I was promised a callback from a physician. When no communication was received the following day, I am preparing to file a formal complaint with the NHS, and if my concerns are not adequately addressed, I will escalate the matter to the ombudsman.

Terrible service from unhelpful and unreachable doctors

My sister warned me that this medical practice refuses to conduct home visits due to the distance where my dad resides. This is despite him being their long-standing patient for years. I'm frustrated that he won't switch doctors, even though they seem completely uninterested in providing care when he's ill. The distance is barely 4 miles, yet they won't make the effort. I attempted to call them this evening but couldn't get through, so I contacted 111 who simply advised me to keep trying. This entire surgery is absolutely useless and ineffective.
