I visited this GP practice for my initial consultation today. The physician seemed disengaged and appeared indifferent to my presence as a potential patient. This approach seems to contradict the fundamental NHS principles of equitable patient care. Despite my presenting with a chest infection, the doctor's examination was surprisingly cursory - she merely listened to my back and neglected to perform standard checks like measuring my temperature, checking oxygen levels, or conducting a comprehensive ear, nose, and throat assessment.

I was stuck as number 2 in the queue for 40 minutes without any movement. During the surgical procedure, the staff seemed more interested in casual conversation than attending to patients. When I filed a complaint, it took a staggering four months to be addressed. After an initial appointment where the doctor provided no assistance, I was forced to reschedule with another physician who ultimately resolved my issue. Prescriptions were not processed as requested. While I understand the challenges of working in a medical setting from my own experience in a GP surgery, this level of service is completely unacceptable.

I'm not certain if the staff at the front desk has been updated, but the woman who assisted me was incredibly warm and delightful to interact with. She appeared genuinely empathetic and flexible while scheduling my consultation. My physician was equally cordial and well-informed, and made me feel like I wasn't just another rushed patient. The only drawback was that blood tests couldn't be conducted during the appointment, which meant an extra trip to a walk-in clinic - hence why I'm deducting one star. However, I recognize how challenging it must be to manage their packed daily schedules and accommodate all patients.

Incompetent receptionists make booking appointments impossible

I've been let down by the receptionists twice now, who can't seem to schedule me with the right nurse for my needs. Despite multiple confirmations, they still can't book me on a day when my specific nurse is working. I took time off work, being assured this was the day my nurse would be available, only to receive a message that my appointment was rescheduled with the wrong nurse. When I arrived at the surgery, I discovered she doesn't even work that day. The receptionist's response was a mere shrug when I asked about a solution, given they were the ones who failed to inform me about the nurse's unavailability, even though they had confirmed her availability when I booked last week. They suggested I speak to the pharmacy across the road, who practically laughed when I relayed the receptionist's recommendation. I'm eagerly looking forward to changing surgeries, and if you're searching for a GP, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere.

Dr. Barrett, Dr. McDell, and Dr. Gohill are exceptional physicians, and if I could always be treated by any of these three, I would. In a separate incident, when I was experiencing severe pain, the staff member dismissively suggested I take over-the-counter pain medication and informed me that a doctor consultation was unavailable for a month. Their attitude is shockingly unprofessional and dismissive, displaying a complete lack of understanding that individuals seeking medical advice are likely dealing with genuine health issues.

awful wait of 49 minutes stuck first in line, my father has been awaiting a doctor's visit for an entire twelve-month period - and YES, that's ONE FULL YEAR.
