Patient Experience Summary

Feedback across the file reveals significant and persistent challenges with appointment access, with patients consistently reporting difficulties securing consultations through both phone and online booking systems. Long waiting times feature prominently, including extended hold periods when calling and delays for scheduled appointments. Reception experience emerges as a major concern, with multiple accounts of discourteous and dismissive staff interactions, alongside broader communication failures and lack of responsiveness to patient requests.

Care quality concerns are evident throughout, with patients describing rushed consultations, inadequate clinical assessments, and instances where medical advice appeared dismissive of their health needs. Staff courtesy and respect are frequently questioned, with reports of hostile or indifferent interactions during vulnerable moments. A small number of reviews acknowledge positive experiences, noting welcoming atmospheres and supportive staff, though these are substantially outweighed by negative feedback.

Patients report the practice has deteriorated over time, with organisation and efficiency issues affecting multiple service areas including prescription handling, referral processes, and administrative procedures. The combination of access difficulties, waiting experience challenges, and concerns about professional communication and respect has led many to seek alternative providers or consider private healthcare options.

Unprofessional and unhelpful medical consultation nightmare

I underwent a phone consultation where the physician only attempted to contact me twice, which was insufficient time for me to respond. Upon calling the following morning and describing the situation to the receptionist, detailing the poor service, she claimed the doctor had left me a voicemail and then mockingly remarked, 'how terrible is our service, and if the doctor had time to leave a voicemail, you could have answered the phone.' When I checked my messages, there was absolutely nothing. Appalling, truly abysmal service - I'm baffled how this establishment continues to operate.

Terrible service and endless waiting at surgery

The absolute bottom of the barrel when it comes to medical care in Luton. My son's been waiting three weeks just to get an appointment and a prescription refill, despite the receptionist promising to consult the doctor - which never happened. I've personally been attempting to secure a GP appointment for over a month - yes, a full month! Despite being a loyal patient at this practice for more than two decades, I've reached my breaking point and can't tolerate this level of incompetence any longer.

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs

Completely terrible general practitioner. Zero compassion whatsoever. Getting referrals for your kids is practically unattainable. You're forced into extreme lengths just to secure a referral. Booking appointments is a nightmare. On the rare occasion you actually see a doctor, they're brusque and emotionally detached. The surgery always appears deserted, with zero interest in patient care. The Practice Manager is an absolute farce, seemingly non-existent during certain periods. When you attempt to contact them, you're informed they have 28 days to address your concerns - which is utterly ridiculous. Steer clear of this medical practice at all costs.

Terrible Medical Procedure!! The physicians were disrespectful, and when I attempted to schedule a consultation, I discovered my medical history was completely missing. I'm baffled by how they could have deleted my information. The practice seems completely unprofessional and chaotic.

Dangerous mistake leads to unnecessary stress and medication

Following my medical appointment, I received a text from Lister House Surgery instructing me to collect antibiotics from the pharmacy. However, no explanation was provided about my test results, leaving me completely in the dark about why these medications were necessary. Overwhelmed with fear and anxiety, I collected and started taking the antibiotics. I attempted to contact the receptionist multiple times, but she consistently refused to help me get information from the doctors about my test results. My attempts on Monday were equally unsuccessful. Ultimately, I was forced to call 111 to request a doctor's callback. Between Friday and Tuesday, I remained completely uninformed about my medical condition, experiencing constant worry and anxiety, especially given that two different medication sets had been issued. On Tuesday, the doctor finally called to inform me that the text message was a mistake and I should not have been taking the antibiotics. By this point, I had already consumed both medication packs for several days. The antibiotics additionally caused significant nausea. When I sought a refund or compensation for the stress, the doctor flatly refused. As a result, I will be escalating this matter to the Ombudsman service. In my view, this represents the worst GP practice in Luton and poses a genuine threat to patient safety.

Worst medical service ever experienced in my life

Complete garbage, I've tolerated this medical practice for over two decades, yet I can't secure an appointment for the past three weeks. Booking at the front desk is forbidden; you must phone, but when you do, they claim no slots are available. This surgery is so incompetent they don't even merit a single star rating.

Horrible healthcare experience with zero customer service

I'd rate this establishment at absolute rock bottom, delivering the most abysmal service imaginable. Despite navigating their supposedly helpful 111 system, it still took a staggering two full days before receiving any callback from the general practitioner! Their communication channels are severely limited - no online request options, no patient portal whatsoever... and their customer approach is utterly reprehensible.

Worst medical practice ever terrible customer service

Utterly appalling! With each encounter, they manage to sink lower than before. Scheduling an appointment is a nightmare, and the personnel consistently display a lack of helpfulness and expertise. Prescription handling is a complete lottery - occasionally sent to the surgery, sometimes inexplicably retained, and they've even been known to misplace critical medical documents. What was once a stellar healthcare provider has now devolved into an absolute travesty!

Utterly appalling experience at the medical practice. I attempted to schedule an appointment while physically present in the surgery and was instructed to telephone instead.
