Patient Experience Summary

Feedback across the file reveals significant and persistent challenges with appointment access, with patients consistently reporting difficulties securing consultations through both phone and online booking systems. Long waiting times feature prominently, including extended hold periods when calling and delays for scheduled appointments. Reception experience emerges as a major concern, with multiple accounts of discourteous and dismissive staff interactions, alongside broader communication failures and lack of responsiveness to patient requests.

Care quality concerns are evident throughout, with patients describing rushed consultations, inadequate clinical assessments, and instances where medical advice appeared dismissive of their health needs. Staff courtesy and respect are frequently questioned, with reports of hostile or indifferent interactions during vulnerable moments. A small number of reviews acknowledge positive experiences, noting welcoming atmospheres and supportive staff, though these are substantially outweighed by negative feedback.

Patients report the practice has deteriorated over time, with organisation and efficiency issues affecting multiple service areas including prescription handling, referral processes, and administrative procedures. The combination of access difficulties, waiting experience challenges, and concerns about professional communication and respect has led many to seek alternative providers or consider private healthcare options.

Terrible service and impossible to book appointments

This medical practice is absolutely terrible. Scheduling an appointment is an exercise in frustration. The only way to book is by calling precisely at 8:30am on the same day, with no alternative booking methods. Their phone system is a nightmare - constant busy signals, then a 30-minute hold time that typically ends with the call dropping unexpectedly. The receptionists show zero follow-up or customer service, never attempting to reconnect or help. I've wasted countless hours trying to secure an appointment, and after months of unsuccessful attempts, I'm finally done. They used to be a top-tier surgery in Luton when I first joined in 2009, but have dramatically declined in quality and professionalism over the years. I'm officially switching providers after over a decade of loyalty.

Avoid this terrible medical practice at all costs

Absolutely dreadful medical practice. Booking an appointment is practically impossible. Constant delays and tardiness. The physicians consistently refuse to provide hospital referrals. The quality has dramatically declined since Dr Odong's retirement. I frequently end up seeking medical attention at the private clinic nearby. If you value your mental well-being, steer clear of this practice when searching for a GP surgery.

Terrible service and uncaring doctors at nhs surgery

I'm frustrated with this medical practice's complete lack of responsiveness. Getting an appointment seems impossible, and the doctor appears disinterested in comprehensive care, focusing narrowly on isolated symptoms instead of understanding how my health issues interconnect. Every day, I spend hours on the phone, only to be told to call back the next day and check for availability. This endless cycle is exhausting and disheartening. I implore the NHS to reevaluate their approach and prioritize patient well-being - people's lives are at stake, and this current system is unacceptable.

Terrible medical care at this disappointing surgery

Absolutely dreadful medical experience at this facility. The staff's attitude is appalling, and the physicians are dismissive and uncaring. I deeply miss the days when Odong worked here, as the current doctors show zero interest in understanding or addressing patient concerns, quickly brushing off any issues raised.

Terrible gp with no care for patient needs

I've encountered an absolutely dreadful medical practice that fails miserably at basic patient care. Their communication is appalling, with zero responsiveness to urgent requests. Getting a timely appointment seems impossible, and their staff's interpersonal skills are non-existent. When you're suffering in extreme pain, no one even bothers to answer the phone. They'll schedule appointments and then mysteriously vanish, completely abandoning their patients without a trace. The entire experience is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. I'm actively seeking a new GP who actually understands how to care for and support their patients. My strong advice is to absolutely avoid this terrible Lister house GP in Dunstable - it will be the most disappointing healthcare experience you could imagine!!! 👩‍🏫

Worst medical practice ever avoid at all costs

Utterly appalling medical practice. Securing an appointment is practically impossible. Whenever you attempt to book or visit the clinic, they consistently claim no availability and instruct you to call back the following morning at 8 AM. Even then, appointments remain nonexistent. The surgery's sole focus appears to be financial gain, with zero consideration for patient care. They're now reduced to a single doctor, as all others have wisely departed - and frankly, it's hardly surprising given the abysmal working conditions. Attempting to reach the practice manager is futile, as they're perpetually "on holiday". The entire operation is an absolute mockery of healthcare.

Worst medical practice with terrible time management

Their punctuality is absolutely abysmal! I arrived precisely at 15:25 for my scheduled 15:30 appointment, yet the nurse was inexplicably 20 minutes behind. The delay was so significant that I was forced to depart! Not a single staff member bothered to communicate the substantial wait time! This seems to be standard procedure at Lister house. The facility's quality has noticeably deteriorated since Dr Odong's exit.
