Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a sharply divided experience at this practice, with reception and administrative processes emerging as consistent pain points. Many patients report difficulties with appointment booking, lengthy waiting times, and reception staff rudeness, alongside complaints about outdated communication methods and poor phone accessibility. Administrative inefficiency, including repeated requests for previously submitted documentation and problematic prescription renewal processes, features prominently across reviews.

Conversely, several patients praise the medical professionals for compassionate care, thorough examinations, and responsive service, with some highlighting quick appointment access and efficient test coordination. The practice demonstrates notable inconsistency: while some patients report receiving same-day responses through the e-consult system and appointments within days, others describe being unable to reach the surgery by phone or facing multi-week waiting periods. Communication barriers and access difficulties appear particularly acute for vulnerable patients, including those with digital literacy challenges or complex health needs. A subset of patients expresses strong satisfaction with clinical care quality and staff courtesy, suggesting service quality varies significantly depending on individual circumstances and which staff members patients interact with.

Frustrating Appointment System in Amersham

The medical staff here are delightful, but only if you can manage to actually communicate with them. Their appointment scheduling system is incredibly frustrating. You're limited to either receiving a physical letter through your letterbox - which is absurd given my location in Amersham - or using their so-called 'econsult' system, which is completely useless. It bombards you with countless unnecessary questions, and after laboriously completing the form, you're expected to wait up to 48 hours before receiving any response. Whatever happened to simply calling and booking an appointment? What purpose do the receptionists even serve? And when you do attempt to call, they dismissively tell you to ring precisely at 8:30 when they open, which is ridiculous since not everyone needs medical attention first thing in the morning. It's no surprise the hospitals are overcrowded with such a dysfunctional approach to patient care.

Frustrating Care at Little Chalfont Surgery

As a professional in the health and digital health sector, I find Little Chalfont surgery consistently underwhelming and deeply troubling. Having been a patient here and attempting to assist family members managing chronic conditions, I've encountered significant obstacles. The digital barriers, exclusionary practices, staff attitudes, and poor interpersonal skills have been a source of ongoing frustration. I intend to formally address these concerns with the surgery's management. (I urge readers to reflect on the challenges faced by elderly community members who lack digital literacy or access, rendering them unable to effectively communicate the difficulties they experience when seeking medical care at this facility.)

Dr. Bajwa Great, But Receptionists Are Awful

The medical professionals at this clinic are quite decent (Dr. Bajwa stands out as particularly supportive), but the reception team is a significant drawback. They consistently demonstrate an unacceptable level of rudeness, disrespect, and indifference. Multiple times, I've experienced being talked down to by employees who seem more interested in chatting among themselves over coffee than providing proper customer service. It's truly disappointing, especially given the compassionate care I've previously received from the doctors. 😔

Frustrating and Outdated Medical Practice

These reviews are absolutely abysmal. If this were an educational institution, it would undoubtedly prompt an immediate inspection. Why hasn't a similar evaluation taken place here? Moreover, when attempting to contact them, the initial greeting is a distinctly unwelcoming 'Due to government restrictions...' I was certain that all Covid-related government restrictions had been abolished quite a while back. The community of Little Chalfont unquestionably merits a significantly superior healthcare service.

Doctors Are Good, But Communication Is Terrible

Superb medical professionals, provided you actually manage to see them. Their communication skills, however, are abysmal, particularly when attempting to reach out. As others have noted, their handwritten/manually mailed correspondence during the COVID period perfectly illustrates their antiquated communication approach! (One receptionist even proudly proclaimed her ineptitude with 'contemporary technology'.) Currently, the sole after-hours contact method is an 'e-consult' system that—you guessed it—is unavailable outside of business hours. Simply outstanding.

Frustrating doctor's surgery with medieval prescription system

Attempted to book a medical appointment at this practice - what a nightmare. Their prescription renewal process is absurdly outdated: you're expected to handwrite a letter, physically print it, and then manually deliver it to their office. It's like they're living in the dark ages. The clinic operates with an antiquated approach, staffed by completely unhelpful personnel, and seems perpetually closed. Utterly frustrating experience.

Frustrating Surgery Care Since Covid Began

Since the pandemic, this medical practice has been completely ineffective, and getting an appointment remains incredibly challenging. They never reached out about vaccinations, so I booked both my husband's and my own through the NHS website. I contracted covid in July. I received my flu shot four weeks ago at Boots instead of waiting for the surgery to potentially contact me. I've been experiencing a persistent cough since the flu jab and attempted to consult a doctor. I've confirmed I don't have covid via a lateral flow test, but the surgery insists I must obtain a PCR test before seeing a physician, which means I now have to wait two additional days for results. As a result, I am actively seeking a new medical practice.

Receptionist Killed My Appointment and Attitude

Steer clear of scheduling a visit since they'll claim no record of your appointment upon arrival. The front desk staff is hands-down the most unprofessional and inept individual you'll encounter. You'd be wise to seek out a genuine medical professional who actually cares about patient service.

Rude Receptionist Botched My COVID Vaccine Booking

Negligence and incompetence - completely unacceptable service The medical practice was tasked with coordinating my COVID vaccinations. As an individual over 50, when the recommended interval between doses was reduced to 8 weeks, no one reached out to me. After 9 weeks of silence, I initiated contact. The receptionist was possibly the most discourteous, callous, and obstructive staff member one could encounter. The reality emerged that they had experienced a systemic breakdown and were no longer managing vaccination scheduling. What was their plan for informing patients who were anticipating notification? They proved incapable of securing a second vaccine dose within the NHS's 12-week window. Absolutely staggering.

Unethical Clinic Wrongly Reported Me to Police

STAY AWAY !!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE, THEY WON'T HELP YOU !!!!! The medical facility prescribed me incorrect medication, resulting in a seizure disorder, and now they refuse to provide treatment. Despite repeatedly calling throughout the pandemic and explaining my vulnerable status, I requested a phone consultation with Dr. R S Bajwa, but they insisted I could only communicate by physically delivering a handwritten note - an impossible option for me. Their staff were incredibly dismissive and completely disregarded my mental health challenges. Then, shockingly, the police suddenly appeared at my home. They filed harassment reports and even claimed I threatened to bomb the building - an absolutely false accusation that is deeply offensive, especially as someone from South Africa with a family history impacted by terrorist bombings in the 1980s. They have now terminated my medical care and are providing zero assistance with my transition, as evidenced by their extreme action of involving law enforcement.

Frustrating Covid-Era Communication Nightmare

This medical practice used to be reliable, but since the pandemic, their patient support has drastically declined. They consistently redirect patients to e-consult when called, and after multiple attempts over two days, no meaningful response was received. The GP surgery refuses email communication, insisting patients must physically visit and submit written requests - an approach that seems completely unreasonable, especially during a health crisis. Their communication strategy appears deliberately designed to deter patients from seeking medical assistance. The lack of accessible and responsive healthcare is unacceptable. I strongly advise avoiding this surgery and recommend finding an alternative healthcare provider.
