Reception staff accommodated me as a carer

Reception staff wouldn't listen to emergency call
I attempted to reach the practice multiple times before my call was answered. When I finally got through, I was told that no appointments were available that day. I explained that my situation was urgent, but was advised to call back the following day. I felt the staff member was dismissive and did not take time to listen to what I needed to discuss. I found this response frustrating given the circumstances.

Zero stars. The reception staff demonstrated poor conduct and consistently failed to answer telephone calls. When calls were answered, callers were informed that no appointments were available that day and were instructed to ring back at 8 o'clock. Multiple unsuccessful call attempts were made to the practice.

My mum requires a brief letter confirming she is suitable to join a gym. Given her medical conditions, the gym has requested a short note rather than extensive documentation to approve her membership. We were informed there would be a £10 charge for this letter. The reception staff member was genuinely helpful and even called back to explore alternative options. I'm puzzled by the fee for a straightforward letter confirming she can safely exercise, as I believed this type of support would be provided as part of standard care.

This decision felt unjust and has caused considerable concern, particularly regarding access to essential prescriptions and medical supplies that my parents rely on for their health and wellbeing. The situation has left them in a difficult position with their medications and necessary items now unavailable. I believe the relevant regulatory bodies should examine how this practice manages patient care and retention, as I feel the treatment of long-term, loyal patients in this instance has been wholly inappropriate. It appears that financial considerations may be prioritised over the value of patient loyalty and continuity of care.
