Phone lines constantly engaged and impossible to reach

I have had a very poor experience with this surgery. I have been attempting to contact them by phone since early morning, with the line consistently busy. When I finally managed to get through in the early afternoon, I received an automated message that prevented me from leaving a voicemail, and the call disconnected. The surgery appears to have declined in quality over recent years. The reception team in particular has been disappointing, as I feel they could benefit from improved interpersonal and communication abilities. The administrative service has been unsatisfactory overall. That said, once appointments are secured, the clinical consultations themselves are positive and professional. The clinical staff appear competent and dedicated, though they seem stretched managing the current patient load.

Extremely poor service experience. All clinical and administrative staff were unhelpful and appeared irresponsible. I am planning to switch to a different practice. I have no intention of returning.

Blocked prescription left without essential medication

I attended the practice to collect my regular respiratory medication today and discovered that my prescription had been suspended pending completion of a routine health review. With my current supply running low and the earliest available appointment more than two weeks away, I now face an extended period without access to medication I have relied upon daily for many years. I find it difficult to reconcile this approach with the principle of duty of care, as withholding essential daily medication for such a prolonged period seems counterintuitive to patient wellbeing.

Reception staff were dismissive and unhelpful

I have found the level of service at this practice to be quite disappointing. There appear to be significant difficulties with phone accessibility, and I felt that patient concerns were not being adequately addressed. It seemed as though assistance was provided selectively, with some patients appearing to receive priority over others. The reception staff interactions left me feeling unwelcome, and I noticed a disconnect between the apparent satisfaction reflected in their communications and the actual experience patients receive. I would not attribute these issues to the clinical staff. I hope improvements can be made soon.

Couldn't get through after twenty-seven calls

This has been an extremely frustrating experience. I needed to arrange an appointment following a period of absence from work, but the only way to book was through the telephone line. I made numerous attempts to get through, but was unable to reach anyone to help me with my request. This situation felt very disappointing and difficult to resolve.

Receptionists were friendly and genuinely helpful

I have been registered with this practice for over 30 years but have not attended regularly until recently following a new health diagnosis. The reception team are welcoming and supportive. The clinician I see is excellent, taking time to listen carefully and providing clear explanations. The nurse practitioner at the practice is particularly outstanding, demonstrating genuine care, a positive attitude, and a clear commitment to patient wellbeing and appropriate clinical management. Based on my experience, I believe this is a very good practice.

Reception staff dismissive when booking appointments

This practice has deteriorated since the pandemic. The level of patient care appears to have declined significantly, and obtaining an appointment has become increasingly difficult. The reception team comes across as dismissive and unhelpful when addressing patient concerns. I have attempted to contact the practice multiple times during a period when I was unwell following a medical procedure, but felt that my health needs were not treated with appropriate priority or concern.

Couldn't get appointments when really unwell

I find the experience at this practice quite frustrating. It's difficult to get appointments and when I do manage to book one, there never seems to be enough time. On one occasion, I was experiencing significant chest discomfort that had persisted for approximately two weeks and was affecting my ability to communicate. During my appointment, the clinician examined me and asked how long I had been unwell. When I explained the duration of my symptoms and that there had been no improvement, I was told that I had come too soon and was advised to return after a month had passed before further assessment could be made. I was then sent home. This has been a recurring pattern throughout my time as a patient here – whenever I attend with what I consider to be serious symptoms, I'm often told that everything appears to be fine. Overall, I'm quite disappointed with the level of care and responsiveness I've experienced at this practice.
