Disappointing ear wax removal with poor communication
I scheduled an ear wax irrigation appointment, but upon arrival, I was informed that only one ear could be treated at a time - something that was not communicated during the initial booking, which left me quite dissatisfied. The procedure itself was extremely uncomfortable because the water used was very cold. I repeatedly mentioned the water temperature to the practitioner - three times, in fact - but my concerns were completely disregarded. From previous experiences, I knew warmer water was typically used. The practitioner claimed she could not see any wax being removed and suggested I visit the pharmacy. I explained that the pharmacy would only provide ear drops, which I had already purchased, and that ear wax removal would be challenging due to my narrow ear canal. I recommended a referral to the hospital for a more thorough procedure. She stated she would consult with my GP and that I should await a referral. I hope these observations will help your practice improve its service and patient care.

I'm not one to typically post public reviews, but as someone who relies on and trusts online feedback, I feel compelled to share my experience with Littleton Surgery. After recently relocating to Esher, I was seeking a new local GP. I selected Littleton based on glowing reviews highlighting their friendly staff, convenient booking process, and welcoming atmosphere. Regrettably, my experience has been utterly disheartening. My initial contact with Littleton began after discovering my pregnancy. Being a first-time expectant mother, new to the area, and in the process of transferring medical records, I sought guidance from the practice. The initial phone interaction was shockingly impersonal. Upon explaining my pregnant status and seeking direction, the receptionist was abrupt and unhelpful. She offered no congratulations or support, simply stating they couldn't assist due to incomplete records. Consequently, I consulted my previous GP, who suggested self-referral to a hospital. I independently researched and arranged this, simultaneously submitting a pregnancy notification through Littleton's online portal. Two days later, reception curtly instructed me to self-refer to Kingston Hospital. Within ten days, I was emergency hospitalized experiencing a miscarriage. Attempting to connect with a doctor afterward proved frustratingly difficult. Despite requesting medical consultation, I waited over 24 hours for a response. A promised callback within a specific timeframe never materialized. Visiting the practice in person, I shared my traumatic experience. The reception staff displayed remarkable emotional detachment—neither acknowledging my loss, apologizing for missed communication, nor offering supportive follow-up. They merely mentioned potential GP appointments could take weeks. Unsurprisingly, I will not continue as their patient and caution others considering this practice. Prospective patients should approach with significant skepticism.
