Locked Doors at 19:45 Left Me Stranded

On March 16th, 2023, I received an urgent after-hours GP appointment scheduled for 7:45 PM from the receptionist at Trentham Mews medical centre. To my utter dismay, upon arriving at the specified time, the surgery was completely shut down. I patiently waited an additional 15 minutes, yet no medical staff appeared. It's absolutely disgraceful that a patient who went to the trouble of hiring a private taxi for an emergency medical consultation was left stranded with locked doors. I am profoundly disappointed and emotionally devastated by this unacceptable experience 😔 😪

Late Evening Appointment at Longton Hall Surgery

I called my doctor's office to schedule an appointment but was too late, so the receptionist arranged an emergency slot at Longton Hall Surgery for 6:45pm. The receptionist was incredibly kind, and when I arrived, she explained that the doctor was running behind, which I didn't mind since I was grateful to have secured an appointment, as they can be challenging to obtain. The GP I saw - I regret not catching his name - was wonderful. He was welcoming, put me at ease, and was incredibly friendly. He carefully explained everything, ensuring I fully understood, and even managed to make me smile despite feeling unwell. His approach was both professional and humorous. He prescribed medication, which I'm thankful for, as I'm now feeling significantly better. If I ever consider changing medical practices, I would definitely choose this one. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and I truly appreciate their care. Thank you.

MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE perfectly captures their callous treatment. That's precisely what transpired today. Another key word for them: LAWYER. Frustrating sick note mix-up at the clinic

I reached out to the medical practice to extend a medical certificate that had expired, requesting it to be backdated to the end of the previous document. Upon picking it up, I discovered the physician had not applied the backdating as requested. Now I'm forced to wait once more for the doctor to rectify this and, fingers crossed, complete the task correctly this time around!!!

Rude Receptionists Blocking My Medical Care

I cannot endorse this medical practice. Securing an appointment is incredibly difficult, even when calling immediately at opening hours. The reception staff are appalling - two are consistently discourteous, and one actively gatekeeps appointments by arbitrarily deciding whether you're worthy of seeing a doctor, essentially diagnosing and prescribing without medical qualification. Previously, I appreciated the physicians, but recent budget constraints have seemingly compromised patient care. I'm now unable to obtain full medication prescriptions for my chronic condition, despite being legally entitled. Over-the-counter alternatives exist, but are financially out of reach. Moreover, attempting to explain appointment needs to the reception staff is futile, as they consistently fail to communicate messages accurately to the medical team.

Nurse guilt-tripped me in the snow

I've had no problems with quick phone support, and the ability to send secure photos while on the call with nurses is excellent. However, I'm extremely frustrated after my baby's vaccination appointment. The nurse was unnecessarily harsh, attempting to make me feel guilty by claiming I was delaying the next patient in the cold. In reality, I arrived 3 minutes before my scheduled time, rang the bell (which took 5-10 minutes to be answered), and then waited another 5 minutes outside in the snow with my infant. The treatment I received was completely unacceptable. I'm also perplexed why they won't allow vulnerable patients, such as elderly individuals or young children, to use the waiting room while maintaining social distancing. Today, an elderly woman was forced to wait outside who clearly should not have been exposed to the cold. UPDATE: I'm revising my review because now appointments are only available same-day. You can spend an hour on hold, navigate through the queue, only to be told no appointments are left and to try again tomorrow - and this was for a child's medical needs. Additionally, I've experienced difficulties getting a child's prescription processed, as it wasn't properly transmitted to the pharmacy.

Doctors in Tracksuits Didn't Take Me Seriously

When they promise to contact you in the morning, expect a call around mid-afternoon. I discussed my ongoing joint problems with a physician, who, despite my being on codeine for a quarter of a year, bizarrely prescribed paracetamol and ibuprofen. Inexplicably, the doctor diverted our conversation to irrelevant topics like my gym routine and vacation destinations, all while wearing what appeared to be athletic loungewear. The entire interaction felt thoroughly unprofessional. The front desk staff demonstrate complete indifference, leaving patients to languish in line regardless of their position in the queue.

Receptionist Ruined My Doctor's Visit

The reception team is hands down the most terrible I've encountered. While the medical professionals are exceptional, the front desk staff are abrupt, cold, and consistently discourteous. They provide minimal assistance, lack empathy, and seem disinterested in offering helpful guidance or solutions. Their attitude is so off-putting that I feel genuinely insulted by my interactions with them. I absolutely cannot suggest this practice to anyone due to their receptionist's conduct.
