Feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment access and phone line responsiveness, with patients reporting prolonged waiting times for callbacks, difficulty reaching the practice, and extended delays between booking requests and available slots. Communication gaps are evident, including missed callback promises, lack of test result feedback, and administrative inefficiencies in the online booking system. Since the pandemic, service quality has noticeably declined according to multiple accounts, with patients noting reduced continuity of care and staffing changes that have impacted availability.
Despite these systemic issues, individual clinical interactions receive consistent praise. Patients report courteous reception staff, compassionate nursing support, and attentive physicians who demonstrate genuine concern and provide clear explanations. Same-day appointments are occasionally available through the triage system, and some patients experience responsive care when they successfully reach the practice. The nursing team and certain physicians are highlighted for their professionalism and reassuring approach.
The practice appears to operate under resource constraints that have created a gap between the quality of direct patient care and the efficiency of access systems. While clinical staff demonstrate competence and empathy, the booking experience, phone accessibility, and administrative processes require significant improvement to restore confidence in the overall service.

Having just moved to Longton Health Centre, I was a little apprehensive about my first visit. But the staff were really helpful, and quickly helped me feel relaxed.. highly recommended

Struggling to book appointments these days
Used to be the best around, but since a key staff member left you can't get an appointment no matter what you do.

Quick callbacks make all the difference here
Whenever I complete a triage form, I receive a callback with a consultation appointment very quickly. The practice in this location appears to be particularly responsive compared to other surgeries in the surrounding region, which I feel fortunate about.

Long waits and unhelpful phone booking system
The practice seems to be in quite a state at the moment. A family member contacted the surgery one afternoon when they were feeling unwell and completed an assessment form, after which they were informed someone would call them back. However, the receptionist indicated they would need to ring back the following morning instead. When they did call back, they were informed the earliest available appointment was two weeks away.

Monthly prescription chasing gets frustrating
The repeat prescription process does not reliably deliver medications to the pharmacy, requiring monthly follow-up calls to ensure prescriptions are sent through. This creates an inefficient system that could be better managed.

Frustrating healthcare system needs serious improvement
I'm constantly encountering issues accessing the triage form, and it's incredibly frustrating! For weeks now, I've been attempting to use it, and I'm desperate to avoid going to a pharmacy. My medical situation requires immediate professional medical attention from a physician.

Frustrating delays ruin patient experience at clinic
The delays at this clinic are unbearable; my scheduled visit has been rescheduled three times already, and on the actual day, I'm still waiting an hour past my appointed time with no communication. Recently, every single appointment I've had has run significantly behind schedule. I recognize the challenges of being understaffed and resource-constrained, but this treatment is unacceptable for patients. Such consistent tardiness undermines confidence in the medical practice, which is unfortunate because there are some truly excellent staff members. These persistent delays ultimately detract from the overall quality of care.

Compassionate care during difficult news
A physician made a house call to see my aging mother earlier today (23/04/2025). I was thoroughly impressed by her genuine compassion and attentiveness. She had clearly taken the time to review my correspondence beforehand and demonstrated complete understanding of our circumstances. She truly exemplifies the highest standards of healthcare professionals. My mother felt immediately at ease, and despite the challenging prognosis, the doctor's sincere empathy and thoughtful communication style considerably eased the difficult news. This exemplifies precisely the kind of approach one hopes for from someone in the medical field.

Poor service and unnecessary hospital trip
Extremely frustrated with Longton Group Practice's declining standards since the pandemic. They denied my antibiotic prescription request, abruptly terminated our call, and directed me to contact 111 instead. The subsequent 24-hour delay forced me into an unnecessary journey to Chorley hospital for a simple chest examination before finally receiving antibiotics. What should have been an 8-minute trip stretched into 2+ hours, wasting fuel and incurring parking charges. The practice's phone system is equally problematic - frequently disconnecting calls after long waits, only to be instructed to call back the following day. Are patients expected to predict illnesses in advance to secure appointments? The deterioration in service quality is truly concerning.

BadRevoked Driving Licence
I'm an in house recluse and hermit from 2/10/24 to 14/1/25. As Dr Carradus/ Dr Ansari/ Dr Farndell think mental health patients should not be allowed to drive. Apparently i'm "dissociated" and "don''t engage with mental health services" according to Dr Carrradus who has written to DVLA i am unfit to drive They gave me an appointment with Michelle Tagarma then did not show up. Then a rescheduled appointment then did not show up again. I was devastated. They gave me an appointment for after christmas deliberately then sent me no reminders so i did not go. To see two partners. They could not care less about the stress that causes me. I have not been out of my house for 3 and a half months they don't care about that. There secretaries are like wolverines. One in three people say they have mental heath at some timer. Is it the view of Longton Health Centre that 25 million people should not drive. Anyway got to dash i'm spending a 106th day indoors. Oh if only i could have my social life back. The revoked driving licence is i understand it for an indefinite time scale

Caring doctors who help with complex symptoms
I cannot express enough gratitude and admiration for Dr. Ansari and Dr. Farndell. These physicians genuinely demonstrate concern for individuals suffering from typically elusive medical conditions. Their approach significantly helps patients feel comfortable and reassured during consultations.

Dr Carradus Longton Health Centre wrote to DVLA that i was unfit to drive. The reasons she gave were i was dissociated and did not engage with mental health services. I have twarled the web for hours and hours i can find no other example of a mental health patient having there licence revoked when there has been no driving violation or accident. My social worker one of said "as soon as a staff member is not actively helping people they should be on the way out" The partners at Longton Health Centre believe the opposite. How many skeletons do they have in there 52 closets. They show zero nought compassion for other people. Zero help. Zero empathy. I need Longton Health Centre to write to DVLA to say i am fit to drive that's the only way i will get my licence back. They could not care ziltch about there patients,

Dr Ansari has an obnoxious posh voice it would be horrible to meet someone like him. Dr Carradus has personal problems and puts them onto her clients. Dr Loudonsack thinks he's an artist as he takes snaps on his opulent expensive tax payer funded holidays. I'm not even a photographer but bought some fruit and veg photographed still life's and published them in a book which can be bought on Amazon called Twirl. I don't know anything about Dr Farndell. I was reading an article in the Philosophical Review on the relationship between Emmanuel/ Jehovah and dissociation syndrome. There is something wrong with them they don't conduct themselves in normal urban sophisticated ways like doctors in Leyland or Preston would.

Went in to see Dr Carradus for DVLA assessment was articulate, friendly, communicative, connected humorous. She wrote to DVLA to say i was unfit to drive,. Now i don't go out for three or four days at a time. I have nil/no social life My neighbours wall side are aggressively banging and drilling 40 hours a week. And last night there was a motorbike revving outside my house twice. Pathways resource center say they don't know me. And Dr Iblodu would probably write me a bad report as well. That is what doctors do !!!! I've seen about 15 doctors all of them have harmed me I'm a publisher/poet with a university background. My driving is excellent an exemplary. I suffer every day. And am being harassed by my neighbours daily as i can't go out

BadDr Carradus wrote to DVLA to say i was unfit to drive
The police stopped me and said i was unfit to drive. Told by DVLA i had to be assessed by GP. My driving is excellent and i had one incident in a car park 6 years ago Attended appointment. Was on the ball witty humorous presented myself well. Was communicative and explained i am a highly successful artist with a university background. Dr Carradus wrote to DVLA to say i was unfit to drive as i refuse to regard myself as a mental health patient which i'm not. Had my licence revoked two days ago. And my life has collapsed. Can't go out as have no car except to local shops on foot She has destroyed my life, Acting on malice. And i am better educated than GP's and work in a superior job. I now may loose my house as i can't go out. I think stopping my driving will give her and the other GP's pleasure

Terrible service and attitude at this medical practice
Utterly appalling front desk staff who behave as if they're top-tier medical professionals and completely control the environment! It's unfortunate because the physicians themselves are genuinely kind once you manage to secure an appointment. The practice has significantly deteriorated in quality since the pandemic began.

Declining service quality at Longton health centre
I'm truly disappointed that Longton Health Centre has deteriorated significantly since the pandemic. Prior to COVID-19, this establishment provided exceptional care. The contrast between their service quality then and now leaves me puzzled. Recently, I developed a severe eye infection and attempted to schedule an appointment, but was unsuccessful. They merely promised someone would contact me within 72 hours - quite concerning when vision could potentially be compromised. In the pre-pandemic era, securing a consultation would have been straightforward. It's perplexing how medical professionals expect to diagnose ocular conditions through telephone conversations. I sincerely hope they'll eventually return to being the compassionate practice they once were, where patients could actually meet with physicians face-to-face.

Unacceptable wait times and poor service at NHS
The wait time I experienced was absolutely appalling. I was suffering from severe bleeding due to a urinary tract infection, yet I was told to endure a SEVEN-hour wait for medical attention despite my condition being classified as an emergency. This facility's quality of care has significantly deteriorated and is truly shameful. Additionally, when my father sought assistance, they refused to help and suggested he seek private healthcare instead. When he expressed his suffering, the receptionist dismissively said "ok bye bye" and terminated the call. We need to stop commending the NHS for inadequate service. It's not complimentary when it's funded through our taxation, yet we receive substandard care in return. I'm thoroughly disappointed and eagerly anticipate relocating from this country.

Terrible service and disrespectful staff at longton
Called, ineffective, previously required 9 days to obtain a repeated prescription. Had to battle with an incredibly discourteous triage nurse. Currently no physician available, completely booked, advised to contact 111 or visit critical care!!! What's the point of having doctors at all. I intend to file a formal complaint with authorities higher than this local surgery. Anyone seeking medical attention should avoid Longton health center. If my rating were 2.6, I'd feel utterly embarrassed!! The situation is entirely self-explanatory, isn't it?
