Malzard road gp service disappoints and frustrates

Since moving to Luton and registering at Malzard Road, I've consistently experienced frustration with the GP practice's customer service. The staff's communication lacks basic politeness - no greetings, no warmth, and an overall rude demeanor. When I needed an interpreter for my dad, the reception staff bluntly stated they don't provide that service, which is completely inconvenient. During my visits, I've been pressured to make quick decisions while simultaneously being forced to wait excessively long periods. On one occasion, I waited an hour just to interact with staff, yet was still told to "hurry up" when discussing my father's medical needs. This approach makes patients feel rushed and undervalued. The telephone experience is equally disappointing. Despite the supposed new triage system, call waiting times are ridiculous. I was third in the queue and waited 50 minutes - and apparently, this is considered their "quickest" service. When someone finally answers, they immediately demand information without allowing patients to explain their concerns, cutting me off mid-sentence and abruptly requesting a date of birth. Their lack of empathy is striking. I don't feel cared for; instead, I feel like an inconvenience. Consequently, I'll be changing my GP to a practice that actually values patient experience and demonstrates basic human respect.

Terrible service at local gp practice avoid at all costs

The most incompetent general practitioner in Luton - if you were on your deathbed, they wouldn't even pick up the phone. I've attempted to contact them twice today, being first in line each time, yet waiting 15 minutes initially with no response, and now 18 minutes with still no answer. I also submitted an online form earlier and provided my contact details, but have received absolutely no callback. Completely unacceptable. Ridiculous.

Frustrating online triage system fails patients miserably

The online triage system is an absolute disaster that barely functions. I received a frustrating message from Malzeard Medical Centre claiming I completed the wrong form, despite the existing condition section being clearly marked. To make matters worse, the new condition sections are currently unavailable. This system is completely unacceptable and there must be a more efficient approach. As an educated individual, I find this incredibly exasperating - I can only imagine how challenging this must be for elderly patients or those with disabilities. Consistently, I struggle to secure an appointment, and when a GP does contact me, it's at ridiculous hours - the last call came in at 9pm. My patience has completely worn thin with this service, and I've now wasted half an hour on hold, sitting at the top of the queue. I'm bewildered by what the receptionists are actually being paid to do if they can't even answer a simple telephone call!

This isn't an isolated incident—just seven days ago, I experienced the same frustrating wait while remaining first in line. The triage explanation simply doesn't hold water anymore, as this is becoming a persistent problem. It feels like patients are being completely disregarded, and the level of organizational dysfunction is truly appalling. As an NHS employee myself, I'm well aware of the challenges healthcare settings face, but the discourteous and unprofessional attitude of the reception team is absolutely inexcusable. A small dose of politeness and basic operational competence would make an enormous difference. During one call seeking a doctor's appointment, the receptionist's dismissive advice was to take a paracetamol before abruptly ending the call, which made me feel I'd prefer hospitalization over dealing with their supposed "overwhelming busyness". Ironically, the doctors themselves are genuinely compassionate professionals who maintain a warm, welcoming demeanor. However, the receptionists' consistently unprofessional attitude has severely tarnished the clinic's reputation, to the point where multiple patients are now considering finding alternative healthcare providers due to their consistently rude interactions and aggressive communication style.

The customer service is absolutely terrible. No matter how many times I attempted to contact them through different phone lines, they never answered. I question the purpose of having customer service representatives who clearly lack the skills to handle inquiries. It's completely unacceptable.
