Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reflects a mixed experience across appointment access, communication, and clinical care. Patients consistently report significant difficulty reaching the practice by telephone, with many describing engaged lines, long wait times, and unresponsive booking systems that create substantial barriers to accessing appointments. The digital triage system receives mixed responses, with some finding it efficient and others experiencing delays or technical issues. Reception experience varies considerably, with some patients praising courteous and supportive staff while others describe dismissive attitudes and poor handling of sensitive information in public areas.

When patients do access clinical consultations, many report thorough and compassionate care from medical professionals, with particular praise for attentive listening, clear explanations, and comprehensive treatment approaches. Several patients highlight positive experiences with specific aspects of service delivery, including prompt responses to urgent requests, efficient prescription handling, and well-organised appointment processes. The practice's use of online platforms and digital systems is appreciated by those who can access them effectively.

However, systemic challenges persist around medication management, with reports of delays and administrative errors affecting continuity of care. Some patients express concern about the triage process creating barriers rather than facilitating appropriate access, particularly for vulnerable or elderly patients. The overall picture suggests capable clinical staff operating within a service experiencing significant capacity pressures, with inconsistent reception experiences and ongoing difficulties with telephone accessibility and appointment booking.

Worst medical care ever money can buy

This medical practice shows complete disregard for patient welfare, treating individuals as mere financial transactions. Their online triage system is a nightmare, effectively preventing patients from securing appointments. They frequently discourage phone contact and when you finally manage to connect with someone, you're redirected to an online system that schedules appointments weeks away at utterly inconvenient times. The facility's approach is potentially life-threatening. Once you miraculously obtain an appointment, expect to be processed like an anonymous statistic. Any attempt to discuss additional health concerns beyond your initial booking is swiftly dismissed. These physicians appear more concerned with maximizing efficiency and revenue than fulfilling their medical responsibilities. During my visit for a blood pressure check, I also wanted to discuss a concerning lump I'd discovered. Despite being a considerate patient who rarely seeks medical attention, I was abruptly dismissed after precisely ten minutes, without any meaningful examination or discussion of my additional health worry. In my view, such unprofessional and potentially dangerous medical practice warrants serious professional disciplinary action.

Terrible healthcare experience with missing medical records

Utterly appalling customer service, sent for an MRI scan, and the imaging unit claims they dispatched the findings a month prior. Mansion house staff appear clueless about the whereabouts of these results. They're either totally inept or deliberately withholding information. I've switched healthcare providers, and I strongly advise others to steer well clear of this organization.

Nightmare surgery with terrible triage and communication

To speak candidly and directly, I have encountered substantial challenges with medical practices across the region. However, my interactions with this particular surgery have been nothing short of HORRIFIC. Upon initially registering, I attempted to secure a face-to-face consultation with any physician to discuss medication management. In sheer frustration, I even resorted to paying privately for a consultation. Subsequently, additional complications with Mansion House have emerged. Never before have I experienced such difficulty scheduling a GP appointment. Their triage process is unnecessarily complex and inefficient. It begins with an intrusive interrogation by a receptionist regarding the reason for seeking medical attention (with only one displaying any semblance of compassion). I question the logic of divulging confidential medical information to an untrained administrative staff member. After enduring the receptionist's screening, you might—if fortunate—have your request reviewed by a clinician, who holds absolute power in determining the appointment's necessity. Throughout this process, no one genuinely considers you holistically, particularly challenging for patients with complex medical histories. I've reviewed my medical records, and the documented comments are deeply troubling. What makes this surgery believe their system surpasses the traditional method of simply calling at designated morning or afternoon times—a approach used by most practices, albeit imperfect, but functional? Furthermore, their repeat prescription process is fundamentally flawed, failing to ensure patients receive required medications efficiently and reliably. Legally, everyone must register with a GP, especially in areas with limited healthcare options. Current NHS guidelines essentially trap patients within potentially inadequate healthcare systems, compromising individual well-being and creating additional stress for those managing complex, life-limiting conditions. This surgery represents an uncomfortable and impractical healthcare environment, a consequence of the postcode lottery determining patient healthcare choices.

Be cautious in the parking area - if you don't register properly in their system, you'll be slapped with a hefty £60 penalty. My wife was confident she had made a booking, but there's absolutely no way to verify it. The charge is completely unreasonable.

Terrible physiotherapist dismisses patient's chronic pain

My elderly mother has been enduring persistent back and knee discomfort for years, with obvious underlying medical concerns. She consulted Russell Shill, a First Contact Physiotherapist, who dismissively claimed her pain was psychological and that treating her would be too expensive for the NHS. This is absolutely unacceptable - we contribute our taxes precisely to ensure healthcare support when needed. The fact she was essentially brushed aside and told to contact a physiotherapy helpline, which she has previously done without any pain relief, is completely inappropriate and demonstrates a shocking lack of professional care and compassion.

Dangerous gp manipulates medical records avoid

Unfortunately, this surgery lives up to the negative reputation others have described. I'm deeply disappointed to share this critical review, but it's crucial to highlight the potential risks. Mrs. Hannah Whiteley, currently employed at the surgery, appears to pose a serious threat to patient safety. My husband and I are absolutely outraged after receiving a phone call from her. Upon reviewing her consultation notes, we discovered she has documented completely fabricated information on my husband's medical record. Her actions are shockingly unprofessional. She has recorded statements he never made, demonstrating a disturbing tendency to draw her own unsubstantiated conclusions. My husband explained that he experiences daily back pain, which his current medication helps manage. He also mentioned long-standing headaches - a condition predating his current medication that would have been evident had she bothered to review his medical history. Despite this, she wrote that he "suffers headaches if he does not take this medication" and accused him of medication addiction, suggesting he needs to be weaned off. This is absolutely unacceptable! Furthermore, she demonstrates a complete inability to listen, consistently talking over patients and forming her own narrative. This GP is likely to create significant problems for the surgery. We will be filing a formal complaint, and I strongly advise against anyone consulting her. Dr. Ballinger remains the only compassionate, attentive physician at Mansion House Surgery. (Previously, I praised Mansion House Surgery and Stone Pharmacy, but as of 21/09/2023, our perspective has dramatically changed due to this staff member.) Initially, we were thoroughly impressed with the practice after moving to the area. We found both the surgery and pharmacy incredibly supportive, responsive, and compassionate. Unlike my usual approach, I felt compelled to share our positive experience to encourage others to register. Their prompt attention, especially for urgent matters, was remarkable. We enthusiastically recommended their services to anyone seeking a reliable healthcare provider.
