Home visit led to swift specialist referral

Excellent service. Two specialist nursing staff members visited my home and following a standard assessment, an appointment was arranged within three days. I was seen by a clinician who referred me to a local hospital accident and emergency department for a scan. The same clinician subsequently called me at home and arranged a follow-up scan a week later at another facility. Everything was coordinated through the integrated care pathway system, which worked very effectively.

Long-term patient appreciates attentive care throughout

I have been a patient with this medical group since its establishment and previously with the practitioners involved in its formation over more than five decades. Throughout this period I have visited the surgery for various health concerns, but most recently following blood test findings that required urgent care at two local hospital facilities. The clinical team provided me with outstanding care and support during this time. Based on my own experience, I can only express my gratitude and recommend this practice to others.

Reception dismissed concerns without proper investigation

Following a concerning visit to this practice, I felt compelled to share my experience. During an appointment, I had concerns about the clinician's state and the quality of the examination provided, which I felt caused additional problems. When I left a review reflecting this experience, I received a letter warning that further comments of this nature could result in my removal from the practice. This was particularly disappointing given my long-standing relationship with the clinic, which had previously been positive. Upon contacting the practice to discuss my concerns, I spoke with a staff member who dismissed my account and suggested I had been disruptive during the appointment. Given what I observed during my visit and the subsequent examination issues I experienced, I felt it was important to document my experience on this platform. I would hope that others do not find themselves in a similar situation. It appears that raising concerns about care at this practice may result in formal warnings and potential removal from the patient list, which understandably makes patients hesitant to provide honest feedback about their experiences.

Receptionist helped arrange quick pharmacist appointment

I felt unwell over the weekend and telephoned NHS 111 for advice. A healthcare professional rang me, followed by another clinician with guidance. My condition did not require hospital admission. At the end of the conversation, I indicated that I would contact my medical practice when it reopened. The next working day, I telephoned my practice and a very helpful receptionist assured me that a clinician would return my call. A doctor rang me shortly after who arranged an appointment with a clinical pharmacist later that morning. Following an examination and discussion, I am pleased to say that I have made a full recovery. Thank you to NHS 111 and to my medical practice for their patient-friendly and prompt service.

Switched practices after unhelpful and dismissive appointments

I switched to this practice based on its positive online ratings, but I found this to be misleading. Throughout my time here, I received treatment for mental health concerns, yet each visit resulted in the same unhelpful and vague guidance that made no real difference to my situation. The clinician appeared unfamiliar with many of the issues I presented and seemed to rely on looking up information during appointments rather than drawing on existing knowledge. I was advised to independently research medication options as they were uncertain about recommendations. When I requested a referral to a specialist, the appointment took six months to arrive. On another occasion, when I expressed a desire to change my medication, I was instead prescribed multiple quantities of the medication I specifically did not want. A subsequent appointment with a different clinician was scheduled for an examination that ultimately never took place. During a third visit, I felt the clinician was dismissive and displayed an impatient manner. The appointment ended abruptly with repeated questioning that I later understood was their way of indicating the session had concluded, rather than genuine engagement with my concerns. This clinician also appeared unable to address longstanding health issues I have experienced for many years. Following these disappointing experiences, I have decided to return to my previous practice, where I received appropriate guidance and the care I actually needed when I required it.
