Frustrating medical practice with poor service

I visited the clinic seeking a prescription but was denied without an appointment. Despite being physically present, reception refused to schedule me unless I used their online system. They showed no empathy or understanding, even though they already had my details. I cannot comprehend how a medical facility can refuse to make an appointment in person. I also attempted to book an appointment by phone, but was again rejected. What about elderly patients without internet access? What if I urgently needed medical attention today? I explained I simply needed a routine prescription, as recommended by the hospital after my previous treatment. Additionally, I'm still waiting on test results from months ago. In the past, they've also forced me to travel far to collect prescriptions, despite having a nearby pharmacy, simply due to rigid policies. Shouldn't a GP consider patient convenience and preferred pharmacy location? Regarding previous complaints, I've received no responses and don't expect one now, but hope these recurring issues will be addressed. Repeatedly, my family has been inconvenienced by appointment mix-ups, requiring us to take time off work or school unnecessarily. Today, my partner waited hours due to another scheduling error. Booking urgent appointments is extremely difficult, and phone communication is challenging. While Dr. Khan is an excellent, attentive physician (5/5), the overall system has significantly deteriorated in the past six months. Despite friendly reception staff who seem inadequately trained, communication with hospitals remains poor, leading to referral and waiting time mistakes. One year ago, I would have rated this practice 4-5 stars. Now, I'm seriously considering changing healthcare providers due to ongoing disappointments.

I am thoroughly amazed by this medical practice. We successfully navigated getting my girlfriend registered, examined, and referred within a mere 48-hour window for a concerning lump. We cannot express enough gratitude to the team for their incredibly swift service. While everything fortunately turned out well, we would have been profoundly appreciative of their prompt care had the outcome been different. GP receptionists often receive criticism from the public, but in our experience, every interaction with the Maybury surgery staff has been warm and delightful. Unhelpful receptionist made my pregnancy stress worse

Regarding yesterday's inquiry about obtaining a metformin prescription, the doctor requested a hospital letter. I promptly contacted the hospital, and they emailed the document immediately. However, due to issues with the GP website, I called the reception to expedite my prescription, as I only have 3 days of medication left and cannot discontinue it without risking my child's health. Unfortunately, the receptionist was unhelpful and dismissive. She rudely stated that no one is constantly monitoring emails and suggested I call back on Friday, which is unacceptable given my situation. It is unacceptable to treat patients with such disrespect, especially when they have legitimate medical concerns. At 35 weeks pregnant, the last thing a woman needs is additional stress – she should be resting and focusing on her health, not battling uncooperative administrative staff.

This so-called medical practice is an absolute farce! They persistently refuse phone consultations, insisting on online messaging instead. Dr. Khan seems completely disinterested in prescribing medication for children, merely suggesting parents purchase treatments themselves - this is no way to handle pediatric care! The receptionist has actively discouraged me from calling or visiting. I'm baffled about how their funding is being utilized! The sole redeeming feature is the midwife. My six-week check was a mere five-minute rushed encounter, during which the GP overlooked the necessity of repeat blood tests, and she's the only physician in the entire practice! Surprisingly, I'm content with Sheerwater healthcare centre!

Diana saves the day at this medical practice

Diana, the nurse, is absolutely exceptional, and I strongly advise scheduling only with her. The doctor's availability is consistently unreliable, and even when present, offers minimal meaningful assistance. I've departed multiple appointments feeling frustrated because my core medical concern was never adequately explored, with the physician merely prescribing pain medication and sleeping pills that have proven ineffective. The front desk staff, at least, is tolerable.
