Patient feedback reveals a practice with significant access challenges alongside pockets of positive service delivery. A consistent concern across multiple reviews involves difficulty reaching the practice by phone, with patients reporting unanswered calls and lengthy wait times. Appointment availability presents another major barrier, with patients describing impossible booking experiences through both online systems and phone contact. Several reviewers noted that when appointments could be secured, they were often delayed or unavailable at short notice, creating frustration for those with urgent healthcare needs.
Where patients have successfully accessed care, reception staff and clinical teams have generally demonstrated courtesy and professionalism. The online booking platform receives praise when functional, with some patients appreciating the user-friendly interface and ability to arrange same-day appointments. Communication responsiveness has been noted positively by patients who managed to reach the practice, with staff described as attentive and helpful.
Continuity of care emerges as a concern, with some long-term patients reporting lack of ongoing support and follow-up for chronic conditions. The practice appears to operate with capacity constraints that limit appointment availability, particularly during peak demand periods. Overall, the feedback suggests a practice struggling with access infrastructure and phone systems, though individual interactions with staff members who are reached tend to be professional and courteous.

This practice has fallen so low, I only use it if I am desperate, using a pharmacy for possible treatment as I trust them more. When I first joined this practice there were four doctors. They appeared to always be caring and I had no complaints. Now they have one doctor and one part time doctor. They disrespect the patient taking no heed of your requests. They have absolutely no empathy. If you want to complain don’t bother with telling them, they are very one sided. Please make sure you take your complaint further as the authorities should be aware of their practices. Don’t be too trusting, they appear very good when advertising their surgery but it does not match reality.

After being sick and a very high temperature during the night- shaking uncontrollably and not able to take any more Paracetamol that 24 hours - next morning at 8 am could not book an appointment as they were "full capacity" that day advised to go to urgent care at Louth or they could ring back with telephone appointment later at 8 pm!!! Useless!

Positive first experience at Merton Lodge Surgery
I recently became a patient at Merton Lodge Surgery and had my initial interaction with them. Their website's online inquiry form was remarkably user-friendly and straightforward. Shortly after submitting my request, I received a call from one of their reception staff members. The individual I spoke with was exceptionally courteous, accommodating, and warm in their demeanor. Overall, my experience with the practice has been overwhelmingly positive thus far.

Improved care: A patient's journey to satisfaction
Several years ago, I left a scathing one-star review for this medical practice, but I've since retracted it. I must acknowledge the significant progress they've made, prompting me to upgrade my rating to four stars. Dr. Raj, a recent addition to their team, has particularly impressed me. If feasible, I'd recommend securing his services on a permanent basis. Additionally, Will proves to be invaluable in the mental health department. Both professionals exhibit empathy, truly listen to patients, and maintain a calm, confident, and courteous demeanor. While there's still room for improvement, credit must be given where it's due. Over the past three years since I moved here, I've observed positive changes not only in this practice but also in the pharmacy across the street. Some areas still require attention, such as communication issues and lengthy phone wait times. Nevertheless, I commend the practice for its notable advancements. My upgraded rating reflects solely my personal experience of improved service.

Incompetent clinic fails patients in need
Despite their compact nature, this establishment proves utterly ineffective. The leadership demonstrates a staggering level of incompetence, allowing phones to ring incessantly without response. It's yet another farcical, cold-hearted NHS operation, seemingly engineered to neglect those in dire need of medical assistance. This outfit embodies a callous disregard for patient welfare, leaving one to question its very purpose in healthcare provision.

Disastrous medical service: Urgent care nightmare
If I could rate this practice lower than zero stars, I would. The level of care and service here is abysmal. I was informed that I needed to see a doctor urgently, yet I spent an excruciating hour and a half on hold this morning without any success in getting through. On previous occasions when I've managed to secure an appointment, I wasn't even seen by a proper doctor. Instead, I was attended to by someone who lacked the necessary expertise to help me. They recklessly prescribed medication without even understanding my condition. The overall service is utterly deplorable. The staff seem more interested in taking smoke breaks outside the surgery than answering phones or attending to patients. Their rudeness is appalling, and there's a complete lack of privacy in the facility. This place is so poorly run that it ought to be shut down immediately. It's a disgrace to healthcare and a danger to patients who genuinely need medical attention.

Positive review of medical practice services
The staff's attentiveness to inquiries is consistently commendable. Both the reception and pharmacy personnel exhibit exceptional professionalism. The physicians and nursing team provide top-notch care, demonstrating a keen ability to listen attentively. It would be beneficial to see a minor expansion in the treatment offerings. One suggestion would be the inclusion of Warfarin monitoring services on-site. Despite the challenges of current times, the overall service remains robust and reliable. - P. Webb, OBE

Frustrating appointment system and unresponsive care
Scheduling appointments through SystemOnline has been an exercise in frustration. The platform consistently shows no available slots, leaving patients in limbo. I was forced to seek a private consultation elsewhere, costing me a hefty £280 out of pocket. Despite adding notes to my repeat prescription request, my concerns went unaddressed. The entire experience has been nothing short of a time-consuming and ineffective ordeal.

Prompt and professional care at new surgery
We recently became patients at this medical practice, and our experience has been nothing short of exceptional. I've had to reach out to them on three separate occasions - twice via their online platform and once over the phone. Each interaction was met with swift attention and handled with utmost professionalism. The promptness and efficiency of their responses were truly impressive. We're thoroughly pleased with the level of care and service provided. It's refreshing to find a surgery that consistently delivers such outstanding support. We're genuinely grateful for their dedication and commitment to patient care. Kudos to the entire team for maintaining such high standards!

Unreachable company: Phone calls go unanswered
Reaching these folks is like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands. The phone rings endlessly into the void, never to be answered by a living soul. It's as if they've mastered the art of invisibility, leaving customers stranded in a communication desert. One might have better luck sending a message in a bottle than getting through to this elusive bunch.

Frustrated patient slams inaccessible clinic
The level of incompetence at this practice is beyond belief. I'm forced to give one star, but they don't deserve even that. It's painfully obvious that the glowing reviews here are fabricated by staff or physicians, as you can't rate without being seen. Securing an appointment? Forget about it. They've switched to an online-only booking system, which conveniently shuts down for days at a time. As of today, Friday, it's closed until Monday morning. This practice needs a thorough investigation by the authorities; the entire staff should be dismissed for their blatant dereliction of duty. Phone calls? Expect to wait an eternity for someone to pick up. I suspect they're drowning in complaints rather than actual patient care, given that you can't book by phone and prescription renewals don't justify such delays. The whole operation is an absolute disgrace.

Swift and efficient: Same-day dental service
I appreciate your exceptional service! I reached out in the morning and secured an appointment for the same day. The staff consistently demonstrates helpfulness and courtesy. If only all practices adopted this efficient system - no more frustrating waits in phone queues or unnecessary stress. Your approach is truly commendable, and I'm genuinely grateful for the experience.

This surgery never answers their phone so unless you actually walk in you've no chance of seeing anyone. They don't carry out reviews of chronic conditions as they should and it's proven impossible to ever see an actual GP. They seem completely unaware of the condition of the patients as they do their level best to avoid seeing them.

Frustrated patient's 4-year struggle with NHS clinic
I've been a patient at this medical practice for over four years, and I'm utterly disappointed with their service. Despite my repeated requests, I've never managed to secure a face-to-face appointment. They consistently refuse, no matter how much I insist. When I finally saw a consultant about my osteoarthritis, he was astonished I could still walk - those were his exact words. Even after undergoing surgery, I'm left without any support from the practice. They've simply passed me off to another department, washing their hands of my care. If you care about your well-being, I strongly advise you to seek registration elsewhere if possible. This establishment is an embarrassment to the NHS and fails to provide even the most basic level of care.

Urgent care nightmare: Hospital stays and medication woes
Securing a doctor's appointment proved impossible. Persistent illness led me to consult 111, who directed me to Boston hospital for evaluation. I endured a four-week hospitalization, only to be discharged with lactose to stimulate bowel movements and dihydrocodeine for pain relief. Shockingly, this regimen caused my system to shut down, resulting in another four-week stint at Boston hospital. The entire ordeal was nothing short of a nightmare.
