Incompetent admin destroys travel medication plans

Absolutely appalling administrative service. I submitted a prescription request last week, clearly specifying the items needed, delivery location, and quantity for three months (as I'm traveling and my doctor approved a 3-month supply). Upon visiting the pharmacy, I discovered they hadn't received the prescription. After contacting the surgery, I learned they'd only sent one month to the incorrect pharmacy. The receptionist advised me to submit another request for the remaining two months and promised to resend the original to the correct pharmacy. When I followed up three days later, the issue remained unresolved. They claimed they would complete it by that afternoon. With my departure from the UK imminent, I'm now forced to anxiously hope they'll follow through, requiring me to collect the prescription just before leaving. The entire situation is completely unacceptable.

Exceptional local practice with caring and efficient service

I've been a patient at this medical practice for over two decades and have consistently had a positive experience. Appointment and phone consultation wait times are minimal. The communication here is excellent. As someone who oversees care homes in the area, I can confidently say that other larger medical facilities (which shall remain nameless but are truly terrible) force patients to wait in lengthy phone queues for up to an hour. Whenever possible, I recommend this surgery for all the individuals under my care. It's a compact, welcoming general practice that also serves as a training ground for new medical professionals through Addenbrookes. If anyone encounters issues with the reception staff, I suggest bringing those concerns directly to the practice manager, who I'm confident will carefully consider and address them.

Over the past half-year, there have been three separate instances where my prescription was not forwarded to the pharmacy, which left me without critical medication. I've been attempting to contact my general practitioner multiple times over several days. For four consecutive days, the response has been a promise of a callback, yet no one has ever reached out. Yesterday and today, I experienced the exact same frustrating scenario. While I understand they're likely overwhelmed, this treatment is unacceptable. If they're unable to return calls, they should simply be upfront instead of making false promises and wasting patients' time. I'm deliberately avoiding the accident and emergency department because I recognize their current pressures, but general practitioners are meant to provide support. Instead, I'm constantly left on hold and receiving hollow commitments to call back. The situation has become completely absurd and unacceptable.

horrible disrespectful treatment towards individuals with disabilities forced me to exit the medical center today after a 30-minute wait for my scheduled appointment the facility was vacant yet they completely disregarded my presence the front desk staff were incredibly discourteous and abandoned me without the leg support pads they had initially committed to providing I wish I could rate them lower than one star considering their appalling approach to patient care they should be ashamed of themselves

I encountered numerous issues with this medical practice from the start. During my initial patient registration, they misplaced my submitted forms, causing significant delays in securing a GP consultation. After multiple frustrating phone calls, the registration was eventually resolved, but they consistently refused to set up my online access, preventing me from using essential platforms like the NHS app. Their response to my attempts to resolve this was particularly unprofessional, with staff even calling to reprimand me when I sought a solution. The GP consultations were equally disappointing. Despite having a recent specialist diagnosis from a local hospital, the GP refused to prescribe medication, instead subjecting me to an exhaustive 15-minute interrogation before admitting her lack of expertise and offering no assistance. The sole positive interaction was with an out-of-hours GP who effectively treated an infection that the Cherry Hinton Branch Surgery's GP had previously ignored—likely due to her apparent unreliability, with the receptionist having to track her down and my eventual consultation feeling rushed and perfunctory. In my opinion, this practice falls far short of acceptable medical care, and patients should seriously reconsider choosing them.

Fantastic healthcare in cambridge with caring doctors

After relocating to Cambridge last year, I've already visited the Surgery twice during the COVID period. The medical professionals demonstrated remarkable compassion, providing excellent in-person care and implementing outstanding pandemic safety protocols. One physician who examined me regarding my persistent back pain went above and beyond, offering valuable non-medical guidance about specific exercises. Following these recommendations has significantly improved my condition after years of discomfort! Interestingly, when my prescription encountered issues with my preferred pharmacy - requiring three separate visits - I creatively managed by using mild over-the-counter pain relief and continuing the suggested exercises. This approach not only saved me money but also reduced my exposure to potentially harsh medications. In total, I've encountered two wonderful doctors and a practicing medical professional at this Surgery. I sincerely hope other patients experience the same high-quality care, especially considering the diverse range of physicians available here.
