Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a significantly mixed experience across appointment access, waiting times, reception interactions, and clinical care quality. Appointment booking remains a persistent challenge, with patients reporting lengthy phone queues, disconnections, and difficulty securing timely slots. Once appointments are secured, waiting times frequently exceed expectations, often without explanation or acknowledgment from staff. Reception experience emerges as a key concern, with multiple patients describing dismissive, curt, or unwelcoming interactions that leave them feeling like a burden rather than valued patients. Communication breakdowns are evident across phone, email, and in-person channels, with some patients reporting unresponsive systems and lack of follow-up.

Conversely, clinical care from doctors and nurses receives consistent praise when patients reach consultations. Patients highlight compassionate listening, thorough assessments, attentive explanations, and genuine concern from medical professionals. Several reviews specifically commend the professionalism and dedication of individual clinicians. The contrast between positive clinical experiences and negative administrative interactions suggests systemic organisational challenges rather than widespread clinical failings.

Patients express frustration that service improvements have not kept pace with demand, particularly regarding appointment availability and reception courtesy. While some acknowledge broader NHS pressures, others feel the practice could better manage patient expectations and communication. Those who have experienced responsive, efficient booking and welcoming reception staff report significantly higher satisfaction, indicating that service improvements in these areas would meaningfully enhance overall patient experience.

Dangerous Medical Negligence Nearly Killed My Partner

Absolute bottom of the barrel service here. My partner nearly suffered a cardiac event because of their complete incompetence. Their promises are pure fiction, and it's crystal clear they have zero genuine concern for their clients.

Impossible to Get an Appointment Here

During my time with this medical practice (18 months now), I've experienced zero communication or follow-up. When called in for a blood pressure screening, I was informed about my outdated smear test from 9 years prior. I scheduled an appointment, but on the day, a nurse called to contradict their earlier statement, claiming my last test was just 4 years ago and advising me not to come. I've still not managed to see a single doctor, only encountering one nurse. Securing an appointment here seems more challenging than arranging a royal audience! The front desk staff are dismissive and appear completely indifferent to patient needs.

Long Wait, No Appointment at This Clinic

Steer clear of this medical practice! Getting past the front desk is a nightmare, with wait times stretching to 30 minutes despite being first in line. Upon arrival for a scheduled visit, they claim no knowledge of my appointment. The reception staff range from dismissive to condescending. After two years as a patient, I've yet to actually consult with a physician due to their disorganization and poor communication.

Endless Wait on Customer Support Line

Every single time, they claim I'm top of the queue, but still make me wait around 20 to 30 minutes just to get connected, and then I don't even get to speak with anyone. Complete nonsense, if I'm being completely straight with you.

Caring Doctors, Rude Receptionists

The medical practitioners are truly exceptional, demonstrating genuine empathy and understanding, yet this praise doesn't extend to certain (not all) front desk staff who consistently display demeaning, patronizing, discourteous, and inappropriate behavior. I'm relieved that all interactions are documented! This appears to be a recurring theme, as numerous acquaintances and professional contacts who utilize this medical facility echo similar concerns. Simply show some basic human decency - we're all in this shared experience together. Extending compassion to individuals seeking medical support will have a more profound impact than you might realize!

Endless Wait for Asthma Appointment Drove Me Away

Attempting to schedule an appointment is an utter nightmare. I had a scheduled asthma check today, and the check-in screen immediately indicated a 30-minute setback. After waiting in the reception area for half an hour, a nurse emerged to announce yet another 30 to 40-minute postponement. This is completely unacceptable. I promptly cancelled my appointment and left. I'm thoroughly frustrated and have reached my limit with their incompetence.

Caring Doctors Helped Mum Reach 90

Despite any critical feedback, we recently said goodbye to our beloved Mother at 90 years old - a milestone she would not have reached without the exceptional medical professionals at Mytton Oak. The doctors, nurses, and reception staff provided truly remarkable support throughout her journey. We extend our deepest gratitude for their continuous compassion and expert care. Our family is sincerely thankful. Special recognition goes to Dr. Price and Dr. Bennett, who were absolutely phenomenal in their treatment and dedication.

Dr Bram Helped Me Through Vertigo Recovery

I've been in contact with the surgery multiple times regarding a severe, debilitating balance and vertigo condition. Dr Bram… has been exceptionally supportive and incredibly helpful with recommendations to assist my gradual recovery. THANK YOU. Yes, appointment scheduling can be challenging with lengthy wait times and testing (though it's crucial to consider the broader context: COVID-19, extensive backlogs, aging population, funding constraints, and the significant expansion of housing and patient population - all substantially impacting the surgery's operations). During urgent situations, I've always been heard, or directed to 111/A & E when appropriate. I'm genuinely appreciative of the care we receive, even if current circumstances aren't ideal. I'm hopeful that appointment availability and services will improve nationwide, ensuring that both the outstanding doctors/staff and patients receive the timely care we all merit.

My Doctor's Office: Always There for Me

I'm puzzled by the critical online comments given my long-standing experience with this medical practice. Throughout the years, including during the pandemic, I've consistently found the staff to be incredibly supportive. As I've grown older and developed multiple health challenges, I've needed to access medical care more often and sometimes quite urgently, yet I can only offer glowing commendation for their service. Certainly, the automated phone system was initially frustrating, but it has notably improved since the Covid situation has stabilized, now offering a more streamlined approach to scheduling appointments based on medical urgency. The telephone consultations are particularly impressive, and when a physical examination is necessary, patients are promptly called in for an in-person assessment.

Frustrating Appointment Booking at Reception Desk

The administrative side of this practice is seriously lacking. I wasted nearly three-quarters of an hour attempting to schedule an appointment without success. Pro tip: avoid calling during lunch hours - it's impossible to get through. They bizarrely lack an email contact, which is particularly frustrating when my GP specifically suggested emailing a test result. I couldn't even find a way to leave a message anywhere. However, once I actually managed to connect with them in person, the experience improved dramatically - the receptionist was helpful and the GP during my eventual telephone consultation was excellent.

Doctor's Callous Care Left Me Suffering

An absolutely appalling healthcare professional who demonstrated complete disregard for a cancer patient. Following hemotherapy, the patient endured two months of continuous pain, with the doctor consistently dismissing their suffering and refusing pain management. During a final desperate call, the physician claimed to have no availability. After persistent complaints, multiple attempts to seek assistance, and even traveling 200 miles to an old practice, the doctor eventually responded in an extremely discourteous manner, reluctantly ordering some tests and prescribing pain medication. This individual has clearly abandoned the fundamental ethical principles of medical practice, completely neglecting the Hippocratic oath and the compassion essential to this profession.

Long Wait, No Real Help for My Shoulder Pain

I scheduled an appointment three weeks out, but my shoulder pain is unbearable. Today, I sought an urgent slot, and they offered me an afternoon appointment. Despite arriving punctually, I endured nearly a 40-minute wait, only to have a different physician handle my consultation (with no acknowledgment or apology for the delay). The doctor referred me to a physiotherapist without conducting any imaging or diagnostic tests for my pain. It's disappointing that I've been dealing with this tendon issue through the NHS since 2017.

Terrible Service at This Heartless Medical Practice

I wouldn't recommend this medical practice even to my most despised adversary!! The medical receptionists display absolutely no compassion or understanding whatsoever. A temporary GP should face serious consequences for her appalling treatment of me. Never in my entire life have I encountered such unprofessional conduct, to the point where I have now completely abandoned this practice. After examining other patient reviews, I am utterly bewildered why this surgery continues to ignore their patients' concerns!! Prior to posting this review, I have already engaged with the practice manager and the most senior physician, yet nothing has been resolved, which has ultimately led to my decision to seek medical care elsewhere.
