Helpful staff who actually listen and care

I have been attending this practice for quite some time before relocating to a different one, and what a difference it has made. THIS PRACTICE IS WONDERFUL THE STAFF TRULY GO THE EXTRA MILE TO SUPPORT YOU! You don't fully appreciate how genuinely helpful, professional and compassionate they are until you experience somewhere that falls short in comparison. There are certainly other practices out there that simply don't provide the same level of care and assistance. Please don't underestimate what you have here because they really do make a difference. Turned away for being six minutes late

I received a call from reception informing me that a clinician needed to discuss some test results with me. An appointment was arranged for the following morning. I arrived a few minutes late, and unfortunately I was not seen. On previous visits to the practice, I have typically experienced waits of thirty minutes or more before being seen by a clinician. Given that this appointment had been scheduled by the practice itself and was described as urgent due to my test results, I found the situation frustrating.

Unsatisfactory experience at this practice. I experienced a lengthy wait of several weeks to see a medical professional, only to discover that my appointment had been scheduled with a nurse rather than a doctor. I was subsequently informed that the nurse was capable of providing equivalent care to a doctor.

Reception staff genuinely helpful with complex needs

My daughter has complex medical needs requiring both long term and urgent care. I find the reception staff to be extremely helpful in every way. The clinicians are excellent. I'd like to pay a special tribute to one particular clinician who recently recognised serious life threatening symptoms in my daughter and directed her urgently to the emergency department. The practice manager has also ensured that my daughter's electronic medical record highlights the significance of her health problems so that all staff both administrative and clinical can see at a glance what level of care she requires.

Receptionists go the extra mile for patients

The team at this practice demonstrate genuine helpfulness throughout. The reception staff in particular stand out for being approachable, welcoming and genuinely committed to supporting patients. Initially I wondered whether I was receiving particularly special attention given how excellent the service is. However, having needed to visit more frequently recently, I've been able to observe that this same standard of care is consistently extended to all patients. A recent example illustrates this well. While waiting to see a clinician, I witnessed another patient approach reception with a query about a medication they'd been prescribed, as the brand had changed and was causing them difficulty. Rather than asking the patient to return or endure a lengthy wait, the receptionist promptly arranged a new prescription and handed it directly to them, eliminating any further delay or hassle. This is truly an outstanding practice. The clinicians are particularly excellent and the nursing staff are absolutely outstanding as well.

Inconsistent care but felt truly listened to

I am giving a 3 star because I've had really negative, unhelpful experiences with 2 of the GPs and a locum at this practice. However, I saw a lovely clinician several weeks ago and another clinician today, both of whom I rate 5 stars. The surgery would benefit from staff being trained in compassion and listening skills and both of these clinicians demonstrated these qualities and I felt listened to. I've had dealings with the practice management team who also came across as caring and compassionate.
