Feedback reveals a stark divide in patient experience, with clinical care consistently praised but appointment access presenting severe challenges. Patients report exceptional surgical procedures, compassionate medical professionals, and supportive healthcare teams. However, booking systems create substantial barriers, with patients describing impossible phone access, extended waiting periods, and limited appointment availability. The phone system generates particular frustration, with callers unable to connect during designated booking times, forcing repeated attempts across multiple days. Reception staff interactions are mixed, with some patients noting courteous and helpful service whilst others report dismissive and unprofessional conduct.
Appointment availability emerges as the dominant concern, with patients unable to secure consultations beyond same-day slots and facing weeks-long delays for non-urgent care. Communication gaps compound these issues, including cancelled appointments with minimal notice and unclear information about availability. Patients express particular frustration with the contrast between the quality of clinical care once accessed and the difficulty in obtaining that care, describing the booking experience as chaotic and inequitable.
Whilst some patients report smooth recent experiences and appreciation for staff efforts within constraints, the overall pattern indicates systemic access problems that undermine confidence in the service despite recognition of clinical competence and professional dedication.

Impossible to get doctor appointment nightmare system
The appointment booking process is absolutely dreadful. Attempting to call at 8 am is a joke - good luck getting through. I understand trying to secure a same-day appointment, but the weekly booking system is utterly nonsensical. If you need a doctor on Wednesday, you're essentially stuck - either endlessly calling each morning with minimal success or waiting until the following Monday and hoping you're not too late. After spending 11 exhausting hours in A&E, with no sleep and constant monitoring, I was discharged and told to see my doctor about heart medications. This morning, I called at 8 am and by 9:30 walked to the surgery (which is challenging for me). I inquired about the hospital report and requested an appointment to discuss my medication. The response? No appointments available. Try again tomorrow at 8 am - this ridiculous circus continues. The receptionist confirmed the hospital report was received but claimed they could do nothing. I pleaded for any available doctor, but was again told to call tomorrow morning. This system is incredibly stressful. I'm not blaming the staff, who are constrained by guidelines seemingly created by someone completely disconnected from patient needs. At 84, I've never experienced such a frustrating medical practice. I typically avoid doctors unless absolutely necessary, but this surgery has consistently disappointed me. I've resorted to self-treatment or private consultations, but my heart condition requires proper medical attention. I've even had appointments where I wasn't checked in, waiting an hour before discovering the issue. The 10-minute consultation format is terrible - meeting a new doctor means 3 minutes of discussion and 7 minutes of typing. You feel completely insignificant, with the doctor clearly eager to end the appointment by the 9-minute mark.

Excellent surgical care and personnel. Previously, scheduling consultations was challenging, but there's been a significant enhancement in accessibility lately.

Great service and helpful staff at surgery
The reception staff consistently greet patients with warmth and provide exceptional assistance. It's important to remember that they can't conjure up appointments by sheer willpower! Throughout my interactions with this medical practice, I've only encountered positive experiences across all departments. I wholeheartedly endorse this surgery to anyone seeking reliable healthcare services!

Bad!
Terrible service and unhelpful medical staff
Completely frustrated with this medical practice every single time I contact them about scheduling an appointment, they have no availability and just keep telling me to call back tomorrow. I'm experiencing intense pain, yet they insist I should go to the emergency room, but all I want is to see my general practitioner. I rarely seek their services, and on the few occasions I've reached out, they've been completely unable to provide me with an appointment, not even for the following day.

Bad!
Frustrating healthcare with little patient compassion
Medical staff are competent during actual consultations, but patient care is entirely overlooked. I depend on a recurring prescription, and the practice abruptly cancelled it without notification, citing a required medication review. I only discovered this through the NHS App when attempting to reorder, and I was already running low on essential medication. Upon contacting the surgery, they were unable to arrange a doctor's call for an entire week. After waiting seven days, I was promised a morning consultation, yet at 7:30 PM, no call has materialized despite my twice-daily follow-ups with reception staff. The lack of communication and patient support is utterly unacceptable.

Frustrating medical service with endless waiting times
Scheduling a medical consultation has been incredibly frustrating. When I requested a simple sick note, the clinic informed me it would take seven days to obtain one, and I'd have to book a separate appointment just to get it.

Worst reception experience ever at this place
The customer service at the reception was shockingly unprofessional and disrespectful. The primary purpose of a receptionist is to assist and accommodate guests, yet one elderly staff member demonstrated a complete lack of courtesy. When informing about unavailable appointments, there are tactful ways to communicate such information, but her approach was entirely unacceptable and left a terrible impression.

Heartless staff ignore struggling elderly patient
Utterly disgraceful treatment by the front desk staff. A senior gentleman using a walking aid, who explicitly mentioned struggling to breathe during movement, was coldly informed that the soonest available appointment was 16 April or he could return the next day. Witnessing this callous response, I advised him to reach out to 111 for more compassionate and responsive assistance.

Frustrating healthcare experience with unhelpful staff
The service here is incredibly frustrating. As someone with a standard work schedule, it's impossible to spend my mornings constantly calling to secure an appointment. When I actually need medical attention, which is infrequent, the reception staff seem completely disinterested in assisting me. Their booking system is ridiculous - why are appointments limited to just one week ahead? To make matters worse, there's no online booking option, which would make scheduling so much easier for busy professionals like myself.

Rude staff ruined my medical experience
I'm at a loss for words about the front desk staff's lack of professionalism. Battling a severe chest infection, I consulted Dr. Gonsalves, who prescribed antibiotics with instructions to return if they didn't work. Now, with the medication ineffective and my condition worsening, I'm desperate for a new prescription. However, the receptionist—both in person and on the phone—acts like I'm making an unreasonable request, with an attitude that suggests she knows everything. Their advice? Call at 8am to book an appointment, or else dial 111. This isn't my first rodeo; previously, I ended up hospitalized with double viral pneumonia. Clearly, they couldn't care less about patient well-being. 😡😡😡

Misleading website with confusing holiday hours
On this day, December 26th, the website claims to be operational, albeit with potentially altered hours. However, when I called, the recorded message revealed they are shut down for the bank holiday period, with plans to resume business on August 30th. This inconsistency speaks volumes about their communication and reliability!

Fantastic service from a caring receptionist
Sharon at the front desk was incredibly supportive. I was experiencing a problem with my prescription, and she resolved it for me with remarkable efficiency, for which I'm truly appreciative. Despite the issue being caused by my own oversight, she maintained a positive demeanor and even provided additional guidance on handling similar situations in the future.

Frustrating healthcare with impossible appointment booking
The medical professionals here have been excellent in my past interactions. However, their administrative setup is utterly perplexing. Attempting to schedule an appointment is a nightmare, with receptionists consistently deflecting you by saying 'call back tomorrow at 8am'. Try calling at that time when half of Wootton Bassett is also trying to secure an appointment, and you'll find it impossible to get through with just 1 or 2 staff answering phones! Even if you miraculously connect, you're met with 'sorry, all appointments this week are gone, try calling back tomorrow at 8am'. What possible logic is there in restricting appointment bookings to a specific time? I start work at 8am and cannot afford to make 21 futile calls just to secure a brief consultation. I'm paying £220 monthly in National Insurance and can't even book a simple 5-minute appointment. It's an absolutely ridiculous service. If I could opt out of NI and go private, I'd do so without hesitation!

Frustrating experience with unhelpful medical staff
The medical staff are commendable once you manage to see them, but getting an appointment is incredibly challenging. The receptionist I just spoke with suggested going private if I'm dissatisfied, displaying a complete lack of compassion. I was instructed to call back the next morning at 8am, yet even after doing so, I remain without an appointment! They claim prompt treatment is crucial, but how can that be achieved when accessing care is nearly impossible? While a few receptionists are excellent, others are shockingly unprofessional and seem entirely unsuited to a healthcare environment. As a final note, if appointments aren't available before 8am, they shouldn't have a lengthy voicemail message (lasting 1½ minutes!) prompting patients to press 1 for appointments or call back later, supposedly when it's quieter at 3pm!
