Appointment availability emerges as the dominant concern across feedback, with patients consistently reporting severe difficulty securing consultations through the standard booking system. Callers attempting to reach the practice at 8 AM as instructed frequently encounter fully booked schedules within minutes, unresponsive phone lines, and dropped calls after extended waits. Reception experience represents a secondary major theme, with reports of discourteous, dismissive, and unprofessional interactions, alongside instances of calls being ignored or terminated without explanation. Communication gaps are evident, including inconsistent information provision and limited clarity about booking procedures or alternative access methods.
Positive feedback, though less frequent, highlights supportive reception staff in in-person interactions, compassionate clinical care from medical professionals, and helpful coordination of services. Some patients report satisfactory telephone consultations and appreciation for professional communication. However, these positive experiences are substantially outweighed by accounts of organisational dysfunction, with concerns about understaffing, staff absences, and systemic responsiveness failures affecting the overall service delivery.
The practice appears to face significant operational challenges in managing patient access and maintaining consistent courtesy standards, though individual staff members and clinical care receive occasional praise. Patients seeking alternative providers and those experiencing accessibility barriers, including those with disabilities, represent a notable pattern in the feedback.

Missed cancer diagnosis with rude staff
The customer service is absolutely terrible. When my dad had cancer, they dismissively told him he was fine, and if he hadn't insisted on further testing, he could have died. The receptionists act like they're medical experts and are extremely discourteous. After leaving the hospital, I couldn't secure an appointment for three whole months. They deliberately withheld information about a self-scheduling option available through an online portal. I discovered on the government website that patients can actually book their own appointments. When I called to request login credentials, they were visibly unhappy - seemingly because if patients managed their own scheduling, the staff would become unnecessary. These doctors are shockingly unprofessional and rude. I eventually obtained my login details, and I recommend everyone request their own access to bypass the frustrating administrative staff.

Nightmare booking at this local clinic
Terrible customer experience, unfriendly staff at the front desk, extremely difficult to schedule a consultation. I strongly advise against choosing this medical practice.

Awful service at 8am every single day
I'd have rated this zero if possible. For nearly a fortnight, I've been dialing precisely at 8am to schedule an appointment, only to be met with the same tired excuse about "experiencing an unusually high call volume" day after day.

Endless calls for a doctor's slot
Completely frustrating experience! Scheduling a doctor's visit here is an absolute nightmare. Every time we try to book an appointment by phone, we're constantly redirected to call back the following morning at 8am, only to be told no slots are open and to try calling again later. Why can't they simply provide a straightforward answer about available appointment times instead of this endless runaround? Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Terrible referral service with unhelpful staff
Recommended for the incorrect item, how dense can you be? Irritation is beyond belief, the administrative staff is perpetually occupied.

Endless waiting on the phone again
Let me be clear: this medical practice has consistently struggled with scheduling for an extended period. This isn't merely a widespread issue; this GP surgery is exploiting the current circumstances as a convenient justification. It has perpetually been ineffective, and using the national context as a pretext doesn't surprise me in the least. This morning, I attempted to contact them at 8am and was left holding the line for half an hour, yet still received no response.

Impossible to reach a doctor at 8am
Absolutely dreadful service that defies belief. Attempting to connect with a physician is like hitting a brick wall. For an entire month, I've dialed precisely at 8 AM, only to encounter endless roadblocks: a prescription nurse, no doctor in sight, zero appointment slots, or a perpetually busy phone line. How is it possible that at the precise moment of opening, you're incapable of handling a patient's call? If your practice cannot provide basic communication and patient care, you might as well shut down operations entirely.

Stacey solved my medical problem quickly
Stacey at new street surgery has been exceptional in addressing my concern. She has truly gone the extra mile to ensure my issue was handled efficiently and professionally. I would gladly recommend this medical practice to other patients, as they consistently demonstrate a commitment to providing the best possible care. The entire team at this surgery is outstanding, and I am deeply appreciative of their support.

Rude receptionist made me feel terrible
Unacceptable conduct displayed by a front desk employee, completely contrary to the standards expected from an NHS facility. It is crucial to provide fundamental training to staff regarding patient interaction, emphasizing compassion and empathy, particularly when dealing with vulnerable individuals who rely on your professional care and support.

Terrible customer service at the clinic
Absolutely dreadful customer service. Their information is consistently inconsistent, and they hang up on you whenever you seek clarification. If you're experiencing similar treatment, I recommend escalating your concerns to NHS England and the CQC, who will thoroughly investigate these unprofessional practices.

Poor!
Tough time booking a face-to-face GP visit
Securing a medical consultation has proven to be incredibly challenging. Due to my hearing disability, I've been avoiding GP appointments since the pandemic, as telephone consultations are not practical for me. Now that my partner can accompany me to in-person visits, I'm still encountering significant obstacles. The current system requires calling precisely at 8am daily to potentially schedule an appointment, which is highly restrictive. I strongly feel that healthcare providers should implement more inclusive strategies to support individuals with disabilities or ongoing health challenges.

Doctor sreekanta's dismissive attitude hurts
My spouse received a call from Dr. Sreekanta, seeking clarity on her condition since all test results appear normal, yet she still feels something is amiss. The doctor was incredibly discourteous, dismissively stating, "Come back when you're ready to figure out your problem" with a condescending tone, then abruptly ended the call without allowing her to provide any additional details. This marks the 5th instance of unprofessional behavior from this physician, and I'm now prepared to escalate the matter to management.

Rude receptionist ruined my morning call
The staff member who handled my call this morning on 9/12/22 at 8:11 am should seriously reconsider their career path. It's evident that you are dissatisfied with your current role and are inappropriately projecting that frustration onto customers. There was absolutely no need for you to abruptly terminate our call in the manner you did. I called precisely at 8 am as instructed, waited patiently in the queue, and was met with an incredibly patronizing and uncooperative attitude. Do you genuinely embody the core principles of the NHS? Are you aware of your fundamental professional responsibility to provide compassionate care? Truly disheartening

Friendly staff at new street surgery
I've consistently experienced top-notch care from this medical center. The reception team has consistently been incredibly helpful, and the doctors have been equally excellent. I have absolutely no complaints about New Street Surgery and find them to be extremely supportive. Fantastic service, and sincere thanks to all the staff members.

Rude receptionists who won't pick up
The front desk staff consistently ignore incoming calls, and you can distinctly hear them hanging up, irrespective of the call's urgency. I've documented these instances multiple times and intend to escalate my complaint. I strongly advise seeking medical care elsewhere, as this practice is completely unacceptable and the personnel demonstrate a total absence of compassion. You'll have an incredibly difficult time getting anyone to pick up the phone.

Long wait for a simple appointment
Unable to secure a timeslot without enduring a 3-4 month wait... The service is utterly appalling. Despite having numerous front desk staff, the waiting area remains completely vacant...

Impossible to book an ultrasound appointment
Scheduling an appointment here is extremely challenging. You have to make countless phone calls, only to be told no slots are open. The receptionist was unhelpful and dismissive. When I urgently needed an ultrasound, they simply passed me a midwife's contact number. I was left uncertain about my pregnancy's status and felt like they were trying to quickly dismiss me. Ultimately, I had to arrange a private ultrasound - thankfully, some professionals still care about patient needs. I absolutely cannot recommend this medical practice to anyone seeking genuine medical support.
