Frustrating healthcare nightmare with zero accessibility

What an utterly frustrating experience! I've been attempting to secure a medical appointment by calling before 8am daily since mid-April, but without success. I completed the PATCHS form and was instructed to book an appointment, so I tried calling repeatedly. However, I was left hanging on the line for nearly an hour without ever reaching a staff member, ultimately forcing me to abandon my efforts. One particularly unwell Tuesday, I was compelled to visit A&E. Before discharging me, the doctor recommended I request a B12 blood test from my GP. When I discussed this with the receptionist, I was told to book a GP appointment to explain the test's necessity. My response was straightforward: How can I schedule an appointment when I've been consistently unable to book one before 8am, especially given my full-time work commitments and occasional work travel? This entire situation feels completely hopeless and incredibly defeating.

Caring doctors but lacking staff recognition

The Newton Practice is managed by the committed Wilks doctors and their team. However, the constant marketing messages requesting feedback are somewhat bothersome. It seems unlikely that patients would remain silent about significant problems. My primary critique is the apparent lack of recognition from management towards their staff and medical professionals. A simple gesture of appreciation would go a long way in acknowledging the hard work and dedication of their team.

Frustrating booking system leaves patients in limbo

I had a phone consultation about test results where the doctor urged me to schedule an urgent examination with the receptionist. Upon calling, I was informed that appointments were completely unavailable until mid-June, with no releases expected until potentially month's end!!!! The proposed solution was for me to call every morning and check for same-day availability. This is incredibly impractical for someone working full-time. I can't randomly call during work hours and suddenly abandon my responsibilities if an appointment becomes open. I specifically called to book something using my pre-planned days off to find a convenient slot. Clearly, this booking system seems designed to exclusively accommodate retired individuals with flexible schedules... When I emphasized the doctor's recommendation for a prompt follow-up, the receptionist explained she was a locum and was unaware of actual availability. I'm not criticizing the individual staff member, but the surgery desperately needs to improve its appointment scheduling process.

Upon verifying with the pharmacy, I discovered the prescription had not been sent, and it took almost three days before I could commence my medication regimen.
