Patient feedback reveals significant challenges across appointment access and booking systems, with extended waiting times for consultations and difficulties securing timely slots. Communication gaps emerge as a recurring concern, including inadequate notification of policy changes, delayed responses to patient inquiries, and insufficient follow-up regarding medication dispensing and test results. Reception experience is inconsistent, with some patients reporting courteous and compassionate staff whilst others describe unhelpful interactions and lack of responsiveness to basic requests.
Where clinical care is delivered, patients acknowledge professional expertise and compassionate approaches from medical professionals and screening staff. However, continuity of care is undermined by staffing shortages and limited practitioner availability, affecting the consistency of service. Administrative inefficiencies, including delayed medication processing and booking system problems, create additional frustration and leave patients without timely access to necessary treatment.
The practice demonstrates capability in clinical delivery but requires substantial improvements in operational efficiency, communication protocols, and reception desk consistency to provide a reliable and responsive service across all patient touchpoints.

BadAbsolutely appalling service
Impossible to get an appointment. When calling in I was told to use the patches system. The doctor saw this and just closed it down without anyone speaking to me. I explained my symptoms and asked to be seen, no contact from the surgery at all. I tried to get seen at a walk in centre at Dewsbury hospital but was told it could take all night to get seen, so I had to give up. I work full time so couldn't do that. I ended up in Huddersfield A&E this weekend do to my symptoms getting far worse. I feel I should complain officially but I doubt it would change anything. The service from this surgery isn't just bad, it's putting patients in danger. I have requested a change in GP. Avoid this surgery if you possibly can.

Understaffed GP surgery raises serious concerns
A medical practice devoid of a proper physician! The surgery only has a general practitioner present on Monday and Tuesday mornings, leaving the staff without professional consultation for the remainder of the week. This establishment is severely understaffed, resulting in a deplorable standard of care. The situation is so dire that it could potentially lead to a fatality or grave illness due to the subpar level of service provided. It's advisable to steer clear of this place at all costs!

Unavailable doctors plague unhelpful clinic
The medical facility consistently fails to provide adequate care. It's nearly impossible to secure an appointment with a physician, leaving patients frustrated and without proper medical attention. The chronic unavailability of doctors raises serious concerns about the clinic's commitment to patient well-being and its overall quality of service.

Caring nurse eases anxiety during screening
I had a truly remarkable experience during my recent cervical screening. The nurse who performed the procedure was exceptional, displaying a level of care and professionalism that put me at ease, especially given my apprehension due to a less-than-ideal encounter elsewhere. Her gentle approach and reassuring demeanor were incredibly comforting, and the screening was completed with such efficiency that I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly it was over. While there was an unfortunate delay of about 50 minutes due to an unforeseen emergency, the staff's sincere apologies and understanding attitude helped alleviate any frustration. I must note that booking appointments can be somewhat inconsistent – occasionally, it's a breeze, while other times, the wait on the phone can be rather lengthy. Nevertheless, the reception team consistently demonstrates friendliness and a willingness to accommodate, which greatly enhances the overall experience at the clinic.

Disappointing staff and false promises at clinic
The front desk personnel and entire team consistently deceive guests, falsely promising to address concerns. Visitors waste entire days anticipating phone calls that never materialize. While the staff demands understanding from patients, they fail to reciprocate with empathy. A complete overhaul of the workforce is necessary, as the current employees behave with an unwarranted sense of superiority, acting as if they're bestowing favors upon those seeking their services. Their attitude reeks of a god complex, treating every interaction as if they're doing clients a tremendous kindness simply by acknowledging their presence.

Frustrating doctor visit: Time mismanagement
I visited the clinic last week due to a respiratory ailment and a couple of other concerns. It was incredibly exasperating that during my brief ten-minute slot, I was only allowed to address a single issue. The physician spent merely sixty seconds on my primary reason for the visit, then proceeded to consume the majority of our time lecturing me about how my weight was the root cause of my chest infection. They went on about weight loss strategies and insisted on ordering blood tests for diabetes, as apparently no one at the practice had conducted a review or bothered to do so in the past four years. Essentially, MY allocated appointment time was hijacked to address their own incompetence and clinical negligence, which they attributed to a shortage of nursing staff. It felt like my health concerns were sidelined in favor of their administrative shortcomings.

Rude receptionist denies baby diaper change
Passing through town with my newborn, barely a fortnight old, I found myself in desperate need of a nappy change for the little one. Approaching the reception desk, I encountered a staff member who seemed to have embraced their inner Karen with gusto. Despite my plea for a smidgen of compassion, they flatly refused access to the patients' facilities for a simple diaper swap. Their reasoning? My infant wasn't on their books. It's truly disheartening to witness such a lack of basic human kindness, especially when it comes to the needs of a helpless babe. One would think that a modicum of decency wouldn't be too much to ask, but apparently, it's a bridge too far for some. The experience left me pondering: since when did a touch of empathy become such a rare commodity?

Nook Surgery: Disappointing care and service
The online presence of this medical practice creates a deceptive facade of exceptional care. In reality, Nook Surgery often delivers subpar service that falls short of expectations. Their management systems and customer service approach require a thorough overhaul. It's crucial for them to pinpoint areas of improvement and address patient grievances to enhance overall outcomes. The mere thought of scheduling an appointment induces heightened anxiety. It's perplexing why they continue to accept new patients when existing ones struggle to secure appointments within a reasonable timeframe, often waiting upwards of two weeks. Furthermore, the extended processing times for repeat prescriptions leave patients in a precarious position, potentially without necessary medication. This establishment would benefit from a comprehensive reassessment of their operational practices to better serve their patient base and fulfill their healthcare responsibilities.

Disastrous healthcare experience: Avoid at all costs
I had an utterly disappointing experience with this healthcare provider. Their service was abysmal, and I strongly advise against using them. Upon seeking medical help, I was shuffled around endlessly, only to be told "no further action needed" after receiving test results. Two months have passed, and I'm still without relief. The doctor seemed more interested in browsing Google throughout the consultation than actually practicing medicine. If that's the case, perhaps a career change is in order. This ordeal was incredibly frustrating and a complete waste of time. I urge you to steer clear of this establishment.

Endless wait for prescription: Policy change
I attempted to contact the establishment at 11:30 AM, yet found myself still waiting on hold after an excruciating 36 minutes. For the initial 20 minutes, I was informed that I held the position of "second caller in the queue." As time dragged on, I eventually advanced to become the "first caller in the queue," where I remained for what felt like an eternity. To my utter dismay, after enduring a mind-numbing 47-minute wait, I was finally connected to a representative. However, the information I received was far from satisfactory. They nonchalantly informed me that they had recently altered their policies and no longer process repeat prescriptions via telephone. Apparently, I was expected to have physically visited the surgery and noticed a sign detailing this significant change in procedure. The entire experience left me feeling frustrated, inconvenienced, and questioning the establishment's commitment to patient care and effective communication.

Disastrous surgery: Avoid for your health's sake
This medical practice is an absolute disaster. The level of incompetence and mismanagement is staggering. It's a revolving door for GPs, with none sticking around long enough to provide consistent care. Patients are left at the mercy of a single senior nurse making crucial decisions, which is deeply concerning when you're in genuine need of medical expertise. The whole setup is incredibly distressing, especially when you're seeking urgent care. For the sake of your well-being, steer clear of this place entirely. Remember, your health is far too precious to risk with such subpar service.

Stress relief through exceptional support
Absolutely incredible. After enduring a particularly taxing and nerve-wracking period, I found the guidance and assistance provided to be nothing short of exceptional. The level of support offered was truly outstanding, proving to be a beacon of relief during my challenging time.

Disastrous medical care: Pain and neglect
I experienced an appalling visit to this medical facility. In dire need of medication and writhing in pain, I encountered staff who seemed utterly incompetent and devoid of compassion. The reception desk is a revolving door of clueless individuals, incapable of addressing even basic inquiries. The sole exception is a courteous Asian lady who actually provides assistance. Despite being examined by a physician who acknowledged my agonizing infection and the necessity for antibiotics, I was left in limbo. No communication, no medicine. Hours dragged by until 18:05, during which I repeatedly called and twice physically returned to the surgery, desperate for relief. Even then, there was a baffling lack of urgency in dispensing the required medication. This level of negligence and indifference is truly alarming for a healthcare provider.

Mixed experiences: Great doctors, inconsistent admin
The medical professionals and their clinical team consistently deliver exceptional care and service. Their expertise and dedication shine through in every interaction. However, the administrative side of the practice presents a mixed bag, with experiences ranging from satisfactory to somewhat disappointing. While the healthcare providers excel in their roles, the support staff's performance can be unpredictable, occasionally falling short of expectations.

Exceptional care and respect at NHS surgery
I cannot recommend this surgery highly enough. It seems some of the older reviews may not reflect the current state of affairs. The reception staff are exceptionally compassionate, thoughtful, and profoundly respectful - a stark contrast to my previous practice, where the front desk team's behavior was frankly unacceptable and prompted my decision to switch. My experience here has been exemplary; I was attended to promptly and professionally, with necessary tests and scans at HRI arranged within a fortnight. I implore this surgery to maintain their current approach, continuing to treat patients with the utmost care and respect. They're doing an outstanding job and are truly a credit to the NHS. This practice could certainly educate other surgeries on the art of genuine patient care and treating individuals with dignity. Their performance is nothing short of remarkable.

Medication mishap: Surgery's dosage blunder
My spouse received inaccurate dosage instructions for a prescription from our local pharmacy. Upon seeking clarification at the surgery, we endured a prolonged wait and persistent follow-ups, only to be informed that the surgery's dosage was correct and the pharmacy was mistaken. Adhering to their guidance, my partner experienced the very symptoms the pharmacy had cautioned about due to excessive intake. Returning to the surgery, our concerns were initially dismissed. Fortunately, a passing doctor overheard and confirmed that the dosage advice was indeed incorrect, finally providing the proper instructions. This isn't our first encounter with issues at this surgery, unfortunately. We're now actively seeking an alternative healthcare provider as soon as possible.
