Quick diagnosis without proper examination

Extremely disappointing experience at this practice. I attended with symptoms that were concerning to me, and after a brief informal conversation, I was given a diagnosis without any clinical investigations being carried out. I felt that the assessment was rushed and didn't adequately address my situation, particularly given that my symptoms had been ongoing and were continuing to worsen. When I requested medication, I was advised to wait several days before returning, which I found frustrating given the circumstances. I was troubled by what felt like a willingness to reach conclusions without proper examination, and the delay in addressing my request for treatment.

Attempting to secure an appointment proved challenging due to reception staff offering preliminary assessments. Following multiple visits seeking specific medication, my child developed a respiratory condition that required hospital admission. This outcome was disappointing given the delays experienced in the consultation process.

Hard to reach by phone for appointment booking

I've been attending this practice since lockdown as the location suits me better. When I've had face to face appointments, the care has been excellent. However, booking appointments has been quite challenging. I spent two weeks attempting to contact the practice to arrange an appointment, only to be informed that slots were unavailable. Today I eventually managed to get through after multiple attempts, but I learned that the clinician I need to see is only available on two specific days of the week. I had tried calling on one of those days previously, making numerous attempts within a short timeframe, but was unable to connect. I've also noticed that if you manage to reach the practice after a certain time in the morning, there tend to be no remaining appointments available for that day.

Morning phone lines impossible to get through

Getting through to someone in the morning is extremely difficult. I spent 45 minutes trying repeatedly to reach someone. When I finally connected with someone, the call was disconnected while I was speaking. I requested a repeat prescription on Thursday morning and was informed it would be available by Saturday. However, it wasn't prepared, and the surgery had closed for the weekend. When I followed up on Monday, I was told it still hadn't been authorised and therefore wasn't ready. The service fell short of expectations. Additionally, I received information from a clinician regarding my medication that I felt was inaccurate, which resulted in several weeks of discomfort.

Long-term patient with consistently helpful staff
