Hard to book appointments but staff are kind

Have not been with this practice for very long, but securing appointments appears to be quite challenging, and when one does become available it tends to be with a nurse practitioner rather than a doctor. Additionally, the waiting times for blood test results seem to take quite a while. That said, all of the staff members I have encountered have been very pleasant and helpful.

Long phone wait, then turned away at reception

After waiting a considerable time to reach the practice with a vision-related concern, I was informed by reception staff that I would not be able to see a clinician and was instead directed to the pharmacy as per practice procedure. I was experiencing facial swelling but uncertain of the cause, and felt frustrated that administrative staff were making decisions about whether clinical assessment was necessary without any medical knowledge. I have concerns that patients are increasingly attempting to self-diagnose due to difficulties accessing appointments with clinicians. This situation was particularly disappointing given how infrequently I am able to see my regular doctor. I am dissatisfied with this experience.

Reception friendly but privacy concerns in waiting area

The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, I overheard a confidential conversation at the desk regarding someone's medication while I was in the waiting area, which made me uncomfortable about the privacy of patient information in that space. The appointment itself was excellent. The clinician took time to listen carefully to my concerns and fully understood what I needed before discussing treatment options with me. Unfortunately, I experienced another lengthy wait before being seen, which was frustrating.

There seemed to be gaps in their training, and when I encountered a junior member of staff, they did not communicate that they were uncertain about my query or seek guidance from colleagues. A letter from a private healthcare provider took considerably longer than expected to be processed. Only after I indicated I would lodge a formal complaint was the matter resolved promptly. During visits, the clinical team typically consists of a single practitioner, often a locum who is unfamiliar with my medical history. The reception and clinical teams appear to be operating with insufficient staffing levels and training resources.
