I'm not one to typically write reviews, but I'm fed up with the abysmal customer service from the reception staff. During one call, I was greeted with a curt "yes?" and an incredibly dismissive attitude when seeking assistance. On one occasion, I dropped off a sample, was instructed by the doctor to follow up the next day, and when I called after lunch, I was informed it would take 48 hours for results. Upon calling back the following day, I was suddenly told it would be a week-long wait (this was particularly distressing as I was severely dehydrated, and these results would determine whether I needed hospitalization). Another time, I rushed to drop off a sample after getting off work early, arriving at 5pm. To my surprise, I was met by someone in a school uniform at the desk. When I questioned the timing, they flatly stated they don't accept samples. Despite explaining my urgency, they reluctantly took it and promised 48-hour turnaround. Two days later, I discovered the sample hadn't even been tested, and as of now, months later, I'm still waiting for results. Earlier this year, I received an unexpected call without an appointment. The doctor asked about my needs, which confused me since I hadn't scheduled anything. They proceeded to read out my full personal details and inquired about a throat infection, which I denied. Apparently, I had inadvertently been connected to someone else's medical consultation - a potentially serious privacy breach. This morning, I called for a nurse and was met with an abrupt staff member who interrogated me about my purpose. After confirming I'd completed necessary preparations, she demanded my postcode. Due to poor reception, our communication became frustratingly fragmented. She hung up on me mid-conversation, seemingly impatient and unhelpful. For instance, a physician might specify a test is needed within 5 days, yet no appointments are available for a fortnight. Perhaps in such scenarios, they could offer a referral to Harrogate hospital's blood testing facility? Nonetheless, my overall assessment is of a responsive and compassionate healthcare provider.
