Outstanding healthcare for seniors at norwood medical centre

Since returning to Sheffield 14 months ago, my wife and I have consistently experienced outstanding care at Norwood Medical Centre. Throughout our visits, the medical staff—including doctors, nurses, and receptionists—have been exceptionally helpful and responsive to our every request. Without a doubt, this practice stands out as the most impressive healthcare facility we've encountered during our 79 and 77 years. The quality of service has been truly remarkable.

I had my initial consultation with a new healthcare professional today, as I typically receive care at home. The staff were welcoming and supportive. My assigned worker seems genuinely committed to helping me, though I believe I'm challenging to work with and feel there's little possibility of improvement. She's encouraging me to trust her and collaborate on enhancing my situation, but I'm struggling to see any hope. I'm overwhelmed with feelings of despair and suicide, feeling like I can't continue. I'm deeply sorry to everyone I've disappointed.

Quick and smooth medical scheduling experience

I rang up yesterday to schedule a consultation, and while it took some time to connect, the receptionist informed me that all morning slots were fully booked. When I inquired about booking ahead for the next morning, she offered me an 8am slot 👍 I recognize that certain individuals might require immediate medical attention. However, securing an appointment so effortlessly was impressively convenient, and the physician was absolutely exceptional. Some of the comments posted here are truly appalling 👎

Terrible reception staff destroying patient care experience

The receptionists are appalling, completely disregarding person-centered care principles. They consistently demonstrate a lack of knowledge about de-escalation techniques, appear untrained in mental health first aid, and seem incapable of effective workplace communication. They've repeatedly caused significant disruptions in my medication access, with medications that can trigger neurological symptoms if discontinued abruptly. I've experienced numerous instances of prescription delays, forcing me to repeatedly travel between pharmacies, even when prescriptions are meant to be on repeat. I absolutely cannot recommend this practice to anyone, especially those with mental health challenges. The staff consistently fail to support patients, often gaslighting emotional responses after creating situations that trigger distress through their inefficiency and disregard for agreed care arrangements. While some doctors are exceptional, others tend to stereotype patients, lag behind current medical research, and struggle to maintain professional composure when interacting with individuals experiencing emotional dysregulation, often appearing dismissive and unprofessional. The inconsistent doctor assignments are particularly problematic, with patient confidentiality frequently compromised. Constantly changing medical professionals means repeatedly rebuilding trust and medical understanding, resulting in fragmented and ineffective care plans.

Heroic nurse braves snow to help patients

Absolutely amazed by the exceptional service from start to finish. Despite severe weather conditions with an amber snow warning causing road closures and halting public transport, the dedicated nurse (the wonderful Gary) still made the journey to check on my mum. He was so committed that he mentioned he would have walked if necessary - what a remarkable individual. He even went above and beyond by personally delivering medical samples to the hospital to ensure they weren't delayed by the challenging weather. I'm deeply thankful for the consistent compassionate care, professionalism, and kindness shown by the doctors, nurses, and reception staff towards both of my elderly parents, not just today but consistently. Norwood medical centre, your team is truly exceptional and deeply valued.

Skilled doctors but terrible front desk service

The doctors at this clinic are truly exceptional. However, the front desk employees are incredibly unprofessional and seem to overstep their boundaries by offering unsolicited medical advice. It's no surprise that scheduling an appointment takes over half an hour, as they appear more interested in diagnosing patients than actually listening to their concerns. During my first interaction, I was redirected from the pharmacy to the GP and back again. Moreover, these staff members even attempt to provide parenting guidance, which is completely inappropriate. I'm utterly bewildered by their conduct.
