We constantly hear about NHS shortcomings and primary care's inefficiencies, but today was different. I contacted the surgery this morning and, after a brief wait in the call queue (typical for 8am on a Monday), was advised to visit between 9-11, with a heads-up about potential busyness. Prepared, I brought a book to pass the time. I waited approximately 40 minutes, which didn't bother me since I was there for a genuinely important health concern. Dr. Y Kletta was exceptional - he listened carefully as I explained my issue, took a comprehensive medical history, performed a thorough examination, and immediately ordered urgent blood tests. He was incredibly professional, walking me through each step of the process and remaining compassionate even when I became emotional. Absurd delay for obtaining a sick certificate. I was informed today that I'd need to wait 15 days for the note to be issued. The staff are completely indifferent, simply stating "that's how it is" without considering that employers won't provide wages if the documentation isn't submitted promptly. These medical professionals should start working full weeks instead of these fragmented 2-3 half-day shifts.

I underwent a blood test almost three weeks back, and there's been complete radio silence since then. It's been an absolute nightmare trying to contact them by phone - I've attempted calling for two consecutive mornings, only to be met with either busy signals or messages about the queue being at capacity.
