Terrible healthcare experience with unhelpful local surgery

The National Health Service is completely overwhelmed, and this medical practice has regressed to antiquated standards... You're experiencing severe discomfort, yet they schedule you an appointment a week and a half from now!!!!! It's no surprise emergency rooms are swamped when general practitioners have lost all sense of community responsibility! I've been battling this condition for five months, shuttling between hospital visits, and the situation is absolutely unacceptable!!!

Oakfield health fails patients with terrible service

My frustration with Oakfield Health continues unabated! Their booking system is an absolute nightmare. You're restricted to calling within a narrow 3-hour window, endure endless phone queues, and then must await a gatekeeper's decision on whether you're "worthy" of an appointment. I've been trapped in this bureaucratic maze for nearly a year, with my medical issue remaining undiagnosed and unresolved. The process requires calling at 2pm for results, then making another call the next working day just to secure a follow-up appointment. The receptionists' attitude is nothing short of abysmal. For someone with ADHD, this system is virtually insurmountable - it's fundamentally inaccessible. Their complete disregard for neurodiversity, patient experience, and women's health is glaringly apparent. I am actively seeking alternative medical care. _____________________________________________________ This represents the most appalling medical service I've ever encountered. Attempting to contact Oakfield Health is an exercise in frustration. The receptionists display zero compassion or professional courtesy... and frankly, that's where any semblance of service terminates, as securing a doctor's appointment seems impossible, even in dire circumstances. At best, they'll offer a telehealth consultation scheduled two weeks in the future.

Terrible service leaves disabled patient without care

The latest scheduling setup is completely ineffective! The front desk staff outright denied my disabled child and me any booking opportunity! It seems like you must be on death's doorstep to even be considered. They demand to interrogate every detail of your personal circumstances before entertaining the idea of an appointment! 😡

Overworked surgery fails to provide adequate medical care

Since registering with this surgery in 2017, I have always found them responsive to our family's needs. However, recently, it seems they are struggling with insufficient qualified GPs to provide adequate patient care. I've consulted the same 'clinical practitioner' three times within a fortnight about an identical issue. The problem was clearly infection-related, evident even to a layperson. After persistently advocating for treatment, I was referred under the cancer pathway due to my initial symptoms, despite it being obvious I had an infection. Instead of prescribing antibiotics, despite my repeated phone and in-person pleas, I was referred to ENT, with an expected two-week wait before being seen. The pain and swelling significantly impacted my ability to swallow, eat, sleep, and maintain general wellbeing. Due to the lack of a qualified doctor's review, I risked developing sepsis. NHS 111 advised me to visit A&E - essentially just to obtain antibiotics. Fortunately, I had some previously prescribed penicillin, which improved my condition dramatically within 36 hours. Similarly, my adult daughter's autism assessment appointment with a 'senior clinical practitioner' resulted in a referral under the children's pathway, unnecessarily extending her wait for an accurate assessment. Dr Minhas, the only qualified GP who genuinely listens and acts based on patient input rather than bureaucratic processes, is frustratingly difficult to schedule with - his appointments are extremely rare.

Unprofessional gp practice with terrible customer service

I've encountered the most disappointing general practice clinic to date. Upon filing a complaint about a receptionist's demeanor, I received a response today suggesting that the receptionist was composed and implying that my own conduct was problematic. This response feels like an unprecedented act of deflection and blame-shifting. After reviewing other Google reviews, I realize this experience aligns with numerous similar accounts. I will definitely be seeking out an alternative healthcare provider. Compassion should come at no additional cost.

Terrible reception ruined my healthcare experience

The reception staff provide an absolutely abysmal level of service - truly the lowest of the low. They demonstrate zero compassion for patients' requirements. I even witnessed them casually discussing sensitive personal medical information about someone I'm acquainted with, which is completely unacceptable. While the medical professionals - including doctors, nurses, and physician associates - are excellent, scheduling an appointment has become increasingly challenging. The booking process seems to be deteriorating progressively with each passing day.

Unhelpful receptionist destroys patient's mental health

I received a text message prompting me to schedule an appointment to review test results. The next available slot is a staggering MONTH away. After being told the surgery would only contact me "if there's an issue," I'm now understandably consumed with worry about the findings. When I inquired about the meaning of "routine appointment," she dismissively responded with "routine is routine" in a chirpy, seemingly mocking tone. Visibly distressed, I explained my anxiety and requested a brief summary from the Doctor to provide some peace of mind. Her response was a flat-out refusal. She suggested I collect the printed results and, when I asked if I'd comprehend them, she callously advised me to GOOGLE the information!!!! It's appalling that this receptionist shows zero consideration for my mental well-being and has managed to make me feel utterly insignificant during a single, brief phone conversation. My only recourse now is to call again tomorrow and pray I encounter a receptionist who might treat me with a shred of HUMAN COMPASSION!!!

Frustrating app fails to deliver medical appointment

When attempting to schedule a consultation by phone, the voicemail endlessly drones on about booking through their mobile application. Upon accessing the app, you're greeted with a message stating no appointments are currently available from the medical practice! What an absolutely brilliant demonstration of technological efficiency!

Terrible healthcare experience with unhelpful staff

The service here is absolutely terrible. They show no consideration for seriously ill patients. When you visit, you get examined, diagnosed with infections, and prescribed antibiotics, but then you're left waiting 6-8 hours before the medication is even available. This means wasting an entire day feeling sick and getting worse, simply because they fail to streamline their processes and ensure timely treatment when you're seen by a healthcare professional. It's completely absurd! When I contacted the front desk, the receptionist Erica was completely unhelpful. She demonstrated zero initiative to assist me, immediately declaring she couldn't help and that I would need to wait even longer for my prescription. Her attitude was dismissive and indifferent to my urgent medical needs. Absolutely dreadful service!!

Upgraded from a single star to a perfect score. During the pandemic, things were challenging, but in the past year, everything has been smooth sailing. Scheduling has been effortless, and the staff has been consistently supportive. Hoping they maintain this excellent standard of service.

Terrible healthcare experience with dismissive staff

The front desk staff demonstrate a dismissive demeanor, with audible exasperation whenever they deign to pick up the telephone. Medical professionals appear disengaged and uninterested in delivering genuine care, routinely defaulting to prescribing medication or referencing online search results instead of conducting a thorough examination of patients' health concerns.

Terrible service for urgent ear pain nightmare

I'm suffering from an excruciating ear infection and desperately seeking medical help. When I reached out for an appointment, their response was to tell me to repeatedly call back at 8 am daily, hoping to secure an emergency slot. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable! I'm shocked by their lack of compassion and inefficient system.

Compassionate care that truly makes a difference

Recently, I became a patient at this practice after relocating, and my godmother also joined due to her unaddressed menopause concerns. They've provided her with more support than she's received anywhere else. Similarly, they've been incredibly compassionate towards me, helping me address medical issues I'd neglected since childhood. The reception staff are particularly empathetic and accommodating, always patient despite my frequent calls and occasional forgetfulness.

Frustrating healthcare experience with unhelpful staff

I attempted to contact the surgery at 8:30 AM and was informed that no appointments were available, either for pharmacy services or walk-in consultations. Given my arthritis and COPD, even minimal outings are challenging for me. My husband went directly to the surgery to secure the next possible appointment, but was instructed to call back at 8 AM, with staff claiming they do not pre-book appointments.

Unprofessional receptionist ruins medical office experience

Called the medical practice on February 19th at 10:55 to schedule two appointments, and the receptionist's demeanor was shockingly unprofessional. In my view, she requires significant customer service training to learn how to communicate with basic courtesy. Despite being a long-standing patient since the clinic's opening, I have never been addressed in such a disrespectful manner before.
