Dangerous delay nearly cost me my health

What an absolute disaster of a medical practice. I requested my recurring prescription to be prepared in advance, only to discover the doctor hadn't approved it. When I visited the surgery, visibly struggling to breathe, the receptionist at least had the decency to forward an urgent note to the physician. Despite this, I ended up waiting five excruciating hours and ultimately had to seek emergency care due to the sheer incompetence of the staff at this clinic.

Frustrating registration mess at local medical practice

Went to the medical center yesterday for my mother's vaccination and was abruptly informed that I'm no longer considered a patient due to a postcode change... Despite being a long-standing patient since the practice's inception. The staff's communication skills are woefully inadequate, seeming more appropriate for a grocery store checkout than a healthcare setting.

Frustrating medical practice with terrible booking system

The only way to secure a same-day appointment is by calling the surgery between 8 and 9 in the morning, with no option to book ahead for other days. Their scheduling process is incredibly frustrating, as you're forced to spend endless time on hold because their phone lines are constantly jammed due to an absurdly inefficient booking system. Despite wanting to provide constructive feedback to the medical staff, I was limited to just a single telephone consultation throughout an entire year.

Rude receptionist crushed my medical care hopes

I was appallingly mistreated by the receptionist, MP, today Who gives her the right to dismiss my concerns about menopause, high blood pressure, and other health issues, claiming it's not urgent and scheduling me for next week?! When I challenged her knowledge, she boldly stated, "Actually, I've experienced menopause too" Her arrogance and nerve are absolutely outrageous!!! Then she abruptly hung up on me!! Just like that!!! The government must address this new GP system where patients are denied in-person consultations. It's unacceptable that we're forced to disclose sensitive medical information to receptionists just to get an appointment or a callback??

Terrible service from rude and unprofessional staff

The single star is dedicated to the receptionist who constantly yells, refuses to listen when I speak, and talks over me even after politely requesting her to lower her volume. It also goes to her supervisor or manager, who appears completely clueless about her responsibilities. Additionally, the male medical professional - I believe his name might be Tony, though I'm not certain - always seems to be in an irritable mood. Despite these issues, there are some excellent staff members who perform their duties professionally and courteously, without displaying a condescending attitude.

Frustrating nhs experience with unhelpful staff

During the pandemic last year, I was informed to use online booking for appointments, seemingly reducing workload for the NHS GP staff. However, when attempting to book online this week, the system showed no available slots and directed me to call the surgery. Upon calling, the receptionist continuously talked over me, explaining they're not offering online appointments due to the pandemic and instructing me to call back at 8am the next day. When I mentioned needing a repeat prescription, the receptionist scheduled me with a nurse for the following day. Had the receptionist simply listened without interrupting, the call would have been much shorter. At my nurse appointment for a blood pressure check, I was kept waiting over 30 minutes. The nurse made no effort to acknowledge me, offer an apology for the delay, or even greet me, instead just staring blankly as if expecting me to intuit her intentions. The inability to communicate with or see a GP is frustratingly ridiculous. If you have a serious medical concern, you're practically forced to resort to visiting A&E for any meaningful medical attention.

Wonderful staff, excellent medical facility. Similar to many healthcare providers currently, they're dealing with high demand, which can lead to occasional oversights. It's important to be proactive and follow up. I experienced a delay when my referral was accidentally overlooked, causing a six-week wait. While this was irritating, all of my other interactions with the practice have been remarkably good.

Exceptional healthcare with a warm and welcoming touch

Like the previous reviewer, I seldom pen reviews but was driven to do so because the Oakfield Surgery is truly exceptional. The front desk personnel are remarkably cordial and supportive. When you contact them, they genuinely sound enthusiastic about your call (despite the immense workload they likely face), and no request seems too challenging. The physician and clinical nurse I consulted were equally impressive, and I deeply value their efficiency in scheduling appointments (such as same-day phone consultations) Additionally, I received my vaccination there - all the support staff were incredibly warm, and the person administering the shot was outstanding!

Whenever Shona, the receptionist, answers the phone, it truly brightens his day. She is incredibly helpful, informative, and maintains such a pleasant demeanor that speaking with her is genuinely enjoyable. The doctors themselves have been remarkably compassionate and meticulous in their approach. Overall, it's an outstanding practice, and their Saturday Covid clinic was impressively well-coordinated and efficient.
