Feedback reveals a practice with significant operational challenges that substantially impact patient access to care. Appointment booking remains the most pressing concern, with patients reporting difficulty reaching the practice by phone, inability to secure advance appointments, and same-day slots filling within minutes of opening. Phone system failures, including disconnections and prolonged waiting times, are consistently cited across reviews. Reception experience is mixed, with some patients describing courteous and accommodating staff, whilst others report discourteous interactions and unhelpfulness when attempting to book or communicate.
When patients successfully access care, clinical outcomes are generally positive, with doctors described as competent and responsive. However, access barriers create significant frustration and have reportedly led some patients to seek emergency care unnecessarily. Several reviews highlight concerns about communication breakdowns, insufficient staffing, and poor organisation affecting service delivery. The practice appears to struggle with managing demand relative to available capacity, creating a bottleneck that prevents many patients from obtaining timely appointments.
Positive feedback acknowledges the efforts of supportive staff members and the quality of medical care provided once accessed. However, the overwhelming pattern across reviews indicates that appointment availability and booking experience remain critical barriers to service, overshadowing positive aspects of clinical care and limiting the practice's ability to meet patient needs effectively.

Have made a complaint as nurse showed little respect, care and courtesy. Felt part of a very inconvenient and irritating process. Nurse couldn't even be bothered to walk into reception area but bellowed my name from the treatment room.

BadAbsolutely awful
Absolutely discussed with this surgery. The system they have is awful. Why is it so difficult to get an appointment for my daughter. Told to go to a&e for hours just for tablets. Such a waste of time and money.

Overcrowded and inefficient medical practice struggles daily
Typical medical practice with standard challenges. The waiting area tends to get quite crowded, and it's common to see just a single staff member handling multiple patients despite long lines. Although there's a self-check-in kiosk available, I've found it frequently malfunctions or fails to register me properly. While I'm aware these healthcare facilities consistently discuss financial constraints and staffing shortages, the situation seems perpetually unchanged.

Terrible app causing more stress than relief
Overwhelming anxiety coupled with an incredibly poorly designed mobile application that lacks any semblance of intuitive navigation. Complete disappointment with the entire user experience.

Smooth online triage leads to quick doctor visit
I was seeking medical consultation, so I initiated the online triage process, which felt slightly uncomfortable initially. It appeared that all available time slots were occupied. However, I received an email indicating they would reach out within 48 hours. Surprisingly, just an hour later, I got a phone call asking if I could come in at 5 pm to meet with Dr. Fenojo. Naturally, I immediately agreed.

Unhelpful doctor dismisses serious medical concern
Followed my gut instinct and consulted a physician about persistent left-side pain. The doctor's dismissive response was essentially to suck it up and be grateful I'm not in a more dire situation, essentially telling me to just cope with my discomfort.

Frustrating online system fails patients completely
The digital platform is completely ineffective, with no option to consult a physician about medication review—a critically flawed system that fails to meet basic patient needs.

Worst medical experience ever horrible service
Fresh system and it's absolutely dreadful. After completing the digital questionnaire, it advised me to head to the emergency department. What's become of this medical practice? The front desk personnel are discourteous, with childish seating for adult patients, and securing an appointment with a physician is practically unachievable.

Terrible healthcare leaving patients desperate and suffering
I'm completely abandoned at every turn. Suffering from bowel bleeding, I requested a faecal test kit only to be told an appointment was necessary - yet no appointment was offered. Attempting to book online revealed zero available slots. Additionally, I've run out of hospital medication (another complicated story) - 111 advised requesting an emergency prescription from my GP until tomorrow's availability, but they flatly refused. Now I'm without critical medication they claim isn't their responsibility, citing lack of knowledge. I'm experiencing multiple physical and mental health challenges. They've dismissed serious infections, claiming no appointments are available - fortunately my husband brought me in, and the doctors themselves warned me not to delay again. Attempting to schedule another appointment after another infection, I received a dismissive message about no availability. (Apparently infections aren't significant, even when you're corpse-like, pale as paper, burning with fever.) Rest assured, the receptionist apparently knows your health better than you do. I desperately hope no patients suffer consequences from this negligent system. Here I sit, experiencing medication withdrawal, approaching a mental breakdown, wearing feminine hygiene products due to uncontrollable leakage - all because of a surgery completely disinterested in patient care. I apologize if this disturbs anyone, but it's time to expose their practices. I hope others will find courage to speak out. Meaningful change is urgently needed.

Terrible service pushed me to private healthcare
Absolutely subpar, forcing me to invest in private medical treatment. Likely no different from other general practitioner offices within the struggling National Health Service.

Helpful online booking system saves time and stress
I called to schedule an appointment using their new online booking system, with the receptionist helping me complete the form. The system suggested going to the emergency room based on my symptoms and questionnaire, but I opted to book a next-day appointment since I didn't feel critically ill. During my consultation, the doctor suspected IBS and ordered blood tests to eliminate other possibilities. I could have wasted hours in the emergency department for a non-urgent condition that a GP could handle, potentially burdening already overwhelmed A&E staff with unnecessary cases. The automated system seems flawed, as it might direct patients to emergency services inappropriately. In contrast, speaking directly with a person allows for a more nuanced assessment of whether A&E is truly necessary. I'm concerned about how many people might be unnecessarily redirected to emergency services through this impersonal online screening process.

Every time I attempt to organize my parents' medication, the system is consistently inaccurate. Additionally, I've received text notifications claiming they've missed appointments that never actually existed.

Terrible service puts family's health at serious risk
My daughter is regrettably associated with this medical practice following its merger with Bull Farm. On February 10th, she accompanied her seriously unwell Grandmother and her sick infant to an appointment. Dr Sidway was completely unhelpful, dismissing the baby's condition as viral and providing no treatment, while seeming clueless about her Grandmother's critically low oxygen levels. The outcome was an emergency room visit where she was forced to leave her Grandmother due to her baby's severe illness. Her Grandmother was subsequently hospitalized for over a week with pneumonia, and the baby also ended up back in A&E with a throat and ear infection. This medical practice is utterly incompetent, and my daughter is determined to switch healthcare providers as soon as possible.

Terrible service with impossible appointment booking system
Absolute waste of time. Impossible to schedule a consultation. Ring at 8:30 and every single slot is already taken. This is precisely why healthcare services are falling apart. They desperately need to fix their pathetic booking process and stop running two doctors' practices on a single phone line. I'm definitely switching to another medical practice - this one is completely incompetent.

Frustrating phone system with poor customer service
Upgraded the phone system, yet scheduling an appointment remains a challenge. How is it possible to call at 8:30 in the morning and find no one available to help? The waiting line is unbearable, and the whole experience is just terrible.

Great care and understanding from start to finish

Impossible to get medical help when desperately needed
Securing a medical consultation has been an absolute nightmare! I've been attempting to book an appointment daily at 8:30 for three consecutive weeks without success. Desperate for help, I consulted a private online doctor who strongly recommended an urgent in-person examination with my GP, potentially requiring diagnostic scans. When I approached the receptionist, their response was frustratingly unhelpful - suggesting I continue calling at 8:30 or wait an entire month for an appointment. They even insisted the NHS app was functional, despite my clear indication that it isn't working. So now I'm facing another four weeks of suffering, unable to eat or drink properly. The healthcare system's lack of responsiveness is incredibly distressing!

Frustrating healthcare experience with zero availability
It's impossible to secure an appointment after 8:35am - I've been attempting to book for two consecutive days with a severely painful sinus infection. Since I'm starting backlogged work tomorrow, I have absolutely no opportunity to be seen. I can't even get a simple callback from the GP. They claim there's an appointment on January 11th, but that's useless. Getting medical attention in this area is incredibly frustrating - it's a complete nightmare trying to see a doctor when you're unwell.

Terrible scheduling and customer service nightmare
How is it possible that there are ZERO time slots at 8:31am... you're forced to navigate the entire phone menu just to press 2 for scheduling, only to be abruptly disconnected and told no staff can assist you????? Then they declare all appointment slots have been filled for the day. I've been attempting to book for three weeks and I'm absolutely furious with this terrible service... absolute trash 🗑️

Heartless surgery abandons loyal patients without care
We recently relocated, placing us just beyond the doctor's service area. Our desire was to remain with Oakwood Surgery, where we've been patients for over two decades and are familiar with their procedures. My husband, dealing with Parkinson's and Melanoma, had several pre-scheduled appointments, including a critical follow-up after a minor melanoma procedure at the hospital. Initially, we were assured we could maintain these appointments. However, upon multiple attempts to discuss staying with the practice, we encountered zero support or compassion from the staff. The process of finding a new medical practice has caused us significant anxiety and stress, with no apparent concern from Oakwood Surgery. I requested a manager's callback, which was promised within 48 hours but never materialized. This situation is particularly challenging for my husband, as stress can exacerbate Parkinson's symptoms. Contrary to their initial assurances, they mandated we change practices and cancelled his existing appointments. They even refused to provide extra medication to ensure continuous treatment during this transition. The handling of our situation has been remarkably unprofessional and callous. We feel profoundly disappointed and let down by their complete lack of empathy and support.
