Patient Experience Summary

Patient feedback reveals a markedly divided experience at this practice, with significant disparities between clinical and administrative service quality. Medical staff, including doctors and nursing teams, consistently receive praise for professionalism, competence, and supportive care. However, reception experience emerges as a major concern, with patients reporting difficulties accessing appointments, lengthy phone wait times, and inconsistent courtesy from front desk personnel. Communication barriers and responsiveness problems are frequently cited, including issues with prescription processing, appointment confirmation, and callback protocols.

Appointment access and booking present substantial challenges for many patients, with reports of lengthy waits, difficulty reaching staff by phone, and obstacles when attempting to schedule consultations. Some patients describe efficient scheduling experiences, yet others encounter significant friction at the reception stage. Waiting times for appointments vary considerably, with occasional delays noted even during busy periods, though some patients report minimal wait times.

The practice environment and continuity of care are valued by long-standing patients who report feeling supported and valued. However, concerns about respect, courtesy, and responsiveness from reception staff create friction that contrasts sharply with positive feedback about clinical interactions. This inconsistency suggests administrative processes and staff training may require attention to align service quality across all patient touchpoints.

Unprofessional staff made me feel completely disrespected

I reached out to the medical practice yesterday morning seeking a consultation with a physician. The receptionist I interacted with was incredibly unhelpful and disrespectful. As our conversation concluded, I overheard her mockingly discussing my call with her colleagues. Unsurprisingly, no doctor ever contacted me back.

Terrible service and impossible to see a doctor

Getting an in-person consultation at this practice seems to be a major challenge, echoing the experiences of many others. The phone wait is consistently lengthy, with around 20 or more people in the queue, resulting in roughly 40-minute hold times. Once you finally connect, you're expected to disclose personal medical information over the phone, only to be informed that the doctor will contact you later, with no specific timeframe provided.

Disappointing medical care from unhelpful gp

Disappointing experience. Encountered a couple of health concerns recently, and on both occasions, the general practitioner dismissed my symptoms, neither offering medication nor providing specialist referral options.

Compassionate doctor who truly listens and cares

Dr Greenhow at the Orchard Medical Practice in Ipswich stands out as the most remarkable general practitioner I've ever had the opportunity to work with on my healthcare journey. His ability to engage in substantive conversations about diagnostic approaches, treatment pathways, and holistic wellness strategies is truly outstanding. He seamlessly integrates rigorous medical knowledge with a deep respect for my personal perspective, all while maintaining an incredibly down-to-earth, practical, and compassionate professional demeanor. His grassroots approach to medicine is genuinely inspiring, and he thoroughly merits widespread recognition for his exceptional medical practice. I continue to feel profound appreciation for his remarkable care.

Terrible service and complete disregard for patient health

Honestly, if I could give negative stars, I absolutely would! First off, the reception staff at this practice or whoever answers their phones urgently needs a customer service training course because the way they communicate with patients is absolutely appalling!!! My local pharmacy has been requesting my routine prescription for years, but recently, the practice either doesn't care about their patients or is blatantly lying because they are not releasing the prescriptions. For 2 weeks now, I've been going back and forth between the pharmacy and the GP, and now the inevitable has happened: I have no medication left. Medication, might I add, that I need to survive, and yet the only response I got from the GP is "there is nothing I can do." I guess if a person collapses and dies in the middle of the street, that's perfectly fine with them. Get your act together because if my condition worsens due to your incompetence, rest assured I will make certain everyone knows about this!

Terrible service and unhelpful medical staff

Orchestra medical practice has seriously deteriorated. Several of their front desk staff are incredibly discourteous and provide zero assistance. Despite coronavirus restrictions being largely over and lockdowns long past, they're still maintaining excessive precautions and seemingly avoiding patient interactions. When I called to request help with my medication, the receptionist was completely unhelpful. I explained I needed to speak with a doctor about my prescription, as I'm unable to function without my tablets due to significant health impacts. I openly shared that I struggle with mental health and memory issues, which caused me to forget ordering my medication, but she was utterly indifferent. She coldly stated it was my responsibility to order and refused to connect me with a doctor, essentially dismissing my urgent situation and abruptly ending the call.

Frustrated patient reveals broken healthcare system nightmare

Still overly anxious about Covid, struggling to secure an in-person consultation, communication is extremely poor, essentially complicating their own work and delivering substandard service to their customers. The government is investing substantial funds, and it's high time they return to normalcy - we should be witnessing improvements by now, tired of hearing endless excuses. Got referred to ENT after a severe car accident head injury when I should have been sent to neurology, endured a 10-month wait for this ENT appointment and will likely face additional months waiting to see neurology while suffering persistent headaches - even the ENT doctor was astonished. The consistent response from doctors is that the NHS is too overwhelmed to treat patients, reluctant to make referrals, showing zero empathy while happily collecting substantial salaries. This approach is unacceptable - patients don't seek medical attention without legitimate reasons, yet the system makes you feel entirely invalidated!

Frustrating medical experience with unhelpful doctor

Painfully sluggish assistance and bureaucratic medical staff. I suspect this isn't representative of the entire clinic, but I've been struggling for weeks to obtain a prescription from my general practitioner. After jumping through countless administrative hoops, I was ultimately informed that they couldn't locate the prescription.

Terrible service destroying patient's health and trust

Hands down, this is the most terrible medical practice I've ever encountered! Consistently, every single month, they manage to bungle my recurring prescription orders, even though I've been on the exact same medication and dosage for years. Without fail, for approximately the past twelve months, they've either routed my prescription to an incorrect pharmacy or omitted one or more of the four medications I require. If you have any alternative options, I strongly advise selecting ANY other medical facility! I am absolutely determined to switch providers as soon as humanly possible... The constant frustration is profoundly impacting my psychological well-being, and the medication disruptions are causing genuine physical distress when I'm forced to go without critical prescriptions for even a short period.

Terrible service with no care for patient experience

A phone service that completely fails to deliver on its promises. I called at 8 AM and was assured of a callback, but when I rang again at 11:30, I was supposedly next in line. Eventually, around 12:30, I received a call from a nurse who seemed utterly disconnected, rambling about irrelevant matters. My sole objective was to secure a doctor's appointment, yet I was stuck dealing with a receptionist and nurse who enforce a dysfunctional protocol. The eventual doctor's appointment was abysmal. There's a total absence of human understanding, care, discretion, or respect for patient privacy. I find it unacceptable that I'm compelled to divulge my entire personal and medical background to administrative staff just to see a physician. The fundamental issue isn't the system itself, but the individuals managing it who consistently generate patient frustration.
