Appointment access remains the dominant concern across feedback, with patients reporting persistent difficulties reaching the practice by phone, encountering full queues immediately at opening time, and facing long waiting periods when calls do connect. The booking experience is characterised by same-day-only availability with no advance scheduling options, leaving many unable to secure consultations despite repeated attempts. Reception experience emerges as a significant issue, with multiple reports of staff displaying discourtesy, dismissiveness, and poor communication skills, though some individual staff members receive praise for professionalism and helpfulness.
Care experience feedback is mixed. While several patients commend specific doctors for compassionate, attentive listening and professional medical expertise, others describe dismissive consultations, rushed appointments, and inadequate clinical assessment. Communication gaps appear throughout, including delayed responses to requests, unavailable test results, and poor follow-up on promised actions. Long waiting times in reception areas and for callback appointments add to patient frustration.
Patients report organisational failures affecting service delivery, including medication prescription errors, unavailable treatments, and inadequate coordination between departments. Several long-term patients note significant deterioration in service quality over recent years. A small number of reviews highlight positive experiences with particular doctors and reception staff, suggesting that service quality varies considerably depending on individual staff members and circumstances.

Frustrating medical practice with terrible phone service
A complete misuse of public funds and resources. My spouse and I are consistently advised to call early morning for same-day appointments, but the phone line is perpetually engaged. On Friday, I was unable to secure an appointment for a medical certificate. Today, Monday, at 8am, I've been attempting to connect for 20 minutes straight. The system prevents queuing, forcing repeated disconnections and redialing. I've already attempted 23 calls. I'm seriously considering switching to another general practice, as their service has dramatically deteriorated since the pandemic. Prior to COVID, their operations were significantly more efficient, but now the experience is utterly frustrating.

Frustrating medical practice with zero patient care
I'm baffled by their claim of being a medical practice when securing an appointment or communicating with healthcare professionals seems utterly impossible. My husband has been attempting all week to obtain results from investigations conducted weeks ago... trying to call at 8am, encountering a full queue that disconnects the call, and when someone finally answers, all daily appointments are already gone, with instructions to attempt again the next day!!!!!!! An email to the surgery suggested logging into SystmOnline for results, but that service is currently 'unavailable' This situation is completely unacceptable. What purpose is there in conducting medical investigations if you have no intention of sharing the outcomes with the patient?

Worst product ever avoid at all costs
Absolutely worthless product - if I could rate it lower than the minimum, I would in a heartbeat. Complete waste of money and time.

Terrible service with zero customer care attitude
Impossible to reach anyone by phone, and the staff's demeanor is consistently unwelcoming. The team desperately requires training in basic customer interaction and interpersonal communication, with a particular emphasis on learning how to present a friendly, approachable attitude.

Unprofessional doctor with poor communication skills
Medical staff at this facility display a shocking lack of professionalism and empathy. When I sought clarification from Doctor Tamil about a medical query, her response was dismissive and condescending. Instead of patiently explaining the information when I initially struggled to understand her accent, she criticized me by claiming my healthcare expectations were unreasonable. Her attitude was completely inappropriate and unhelpful. I have no intention of consulting her again, and her behavior is detrimental to the entire medical team at Osmaston. The practice desperately needs to recruit healthcare professionals with better communication skills and a more compassionate approach to patient interactions.

Worst medical service ever experienced in derby
The service here is completely laughable, and their phone support is beyond terrible. I'm certain I'm not alone in this opinion, as many others would undoubtedly concur. You people are incapable of performing your basic duties and consistently mistreat patients. There's zero sense of hospitality, and you seriously expect me to return? Not a chance. I hope you're proud of being the most poorly rated surgical facility in Derby.

Frustrating medical appointment nightmare at local surgery
I rarely seek medical assistance, but this time I needed help. On Monday, I called precisely at 8:00 when they open, only to be greeted by an automated message stating the queue was full. I persistently redialed—37 times, meticulously counting each attempt—until I finally got through and was 16th in line. Eventually, I spoke with someone who scheduled a phone consultation between 10:00 and 11:15 the following day. By 12:30, no call had come, and I've since given up. This surgery used to be excellent; I've been a patient here my entire life. However, over recent years, it has progressively deteriorated. While COVID has certainly complicated matters, the decline predates the pandemic. My assessment is that they've overextended themselves, taking on more patients than they can effectively manage, coupled with subpar administrative leadership. I sincerely hope they address these issues, but I'm prepared to seek care elsewhere and wish them success in improving their services.

Terrible doctor dismisses patient's genuine foot pain
I've been enduring intense foot discomfort, and my physician suggested the healing process might span a full year. He recommended paracetamol and ibuprofen, but when I explained these medications provided no relief, he dismissed my concerns. His demeanor was incredibly discourteous. Since I'm someone who only seeks medical attention for critical issues, this initial consultation was deeply disappointing, leaving me feeling helpless and continuing to suffer.
