Patient feedback reveals a practice with significant operational challenges, particularly around appointment access and reception experience. Booking appointments emerges as a persistent difficulty, with patients reporting lengthy telephone waiting times, limited availability, and cancelled appointments without notice. Reception staff responsiveness is frequently cited as problematic, with accounts of discourtesy, dismissiveness, and poor communication between front desk and clinical teams.
Positive feedback, though less frequent, highlights instances of helpful and courteous reception staff, professional medical care from doctors and nurses, and supportive communication when patients do connect with staff. Some patients report smooth registration processes and prompt access to specialist referrals. However, these positive experiences appear inconsistent across the practice.
Broader service concerns include prescription processing delays, inadequate care coordination, and challenges with communication about test results and medical decisions. Patients express frustration with waiting experiences, both for appointments and on telephone lines, alongside difficulties navigating the booking system. While clinical staff competence is occasionally praised, systemic issues with appointment availability, reception accessibility, and overall responsiveness to patient needs dominate the feedback pattern.

Bad!
Terrible service and zero communication with patients
I would give this Practice the lowest possible rating if I could. I'm utterly appalled by their operational standards. I scheduled my son's preschool immunizations in early July 2021, with the appointment set for three weeks later on July 27th. Upon arrival, we were directed to the waiting room as usual. After just a few minutes, we were abruptly informed that the appointment had been cancelled without any prior notification! The receptionist then instructed me to call back and reschedule, rather than offering a new appointment time. I wasted an entire hour on hold attempting to book him in, only to be told they currently lack a Nurse to administer his vaccination! When I inquired about potentially using an alternative medical center like Moredon, I was flatly refused. I am completely outraged by this experience and am already in the process of transferring my entire family's medical care to a different practice.

Terrible gp practice with endless booking frustrations
Terrible experience with this medical practice. I initially thought it might be a one-off issue, but two weeks ago, my partner encountered the exact same problems. We're definitely switching our GP practice. - Endured 2 hours on hold just to schedule an appointment. - When finally booked, had to wait 2 days due to no available slots. - You must constantly monitor your phone; miss their single call and forget about rescheduling - you'll need to start the entire frustrating appointment booking process again. My previous encounter with this practice in 2020 was so disastrous that I opted for private healthcare (the full story would take hours to explain - suffice to say, it was completely unacceptable). We were understanding at first about staff shortages, COVID challenges, etc., but after a year and a half, absolutely nothing has improved. I sincerely hope other patients don't face these same difficulties and can find the medical support they require.

Bad!
Worst medical practice ever disappointing service
One star feels generous... Utterly useless, I endured a two-month wait for someone at the practice to even glance at a straightforward two-paragraph letter from Southmead's Immunology department, which only served to muddy the waters further. The receptionist displayed total apathy, dismissing me with a casual "call next week" when I sought to speak with my GP, claiming he was unavailable and they were clueless about his whereabouts or schedule. I've been registered with this practice since March 2020, and this initial interaction has completely soured my perception, making me want to give up on the NHS altogether... Absolutely typical.

Excellent!
Quick and compassionate healthcare experience
Exceptional support with a highly competent team. I was impressed when I contacted them and quickly connected with a physician, who then scheduled an in-person consultation for the very next morning.

Terrible service and zero customer support
Absolutely terrible service. Their support team is completely unhelpful and disrespectful, and it's clear they lack any real competence or understanding of their work.

Terrible service and endless prescription frustration
I've been stuck waiting on a prescription for nearly four weeks. They're falsely claiming they've already dispatched it to the pharmacy, but when the pharmacists verify, they confirm the prescription hasn't even been processed yet.

Wonderful service from caring receptionist Katherine
I recently received a call from the practice, and a wonderful staff member named Katherine assisted me in resolving my 3-month repeat prescription needs. Everything has been taken care of smoothly. Typically, I don't experience any problems with the practice, and this interaction was particularly excellent. I've consistently received great service from them. I apologize for the poorly written email I previously sent.

Bad!
Unprofessional nurse traumatized my innocent baby
I visited the clinic today for my toddler's immunization shots with nurse Lindall, who displayed a complete lack of compassion. She administered the first vaccine in one arm, then moved to the other, leaving the initial injection site with blood, without cleaning or applying a bandage. She proceeded to give three more vaccines in the thigh, totaling four shots, again neglecting to clean the blood or cover the injection sites. Moreover, she provided no information about potential vaccine side effects or any aftercare guidance.

Worst healthcare experience of my miserable life
If you're considering Park Lane surgery as your healthcare provider, especially with a chronic condition needing consistent medical attention, steer clear. You'll likely face life-threatening delays in receiving care - this medical practice is utterly incompetent and potentially dangerous.

Exceptional customer support saves the day
Absolutely stellar customer support just now. The representative was incredibly helpful and made every effort to help me track down my lost medication, and I cannot thank her enough for her dedication!

Disappointing decline from previous medical excellence
During Chris and Elizabeth's leadership, the practice was exceptional. Currently, the quality of care is inconsistent and unpredictable. A specific staff member, who claims to be a nurse, demonstrates an abrasive and condescending attitude, offering minimal assistance when contacted. On a positive note, the front desk staff remain friendly and welcoming.

Unprofessional doctor destroyed my medical experience
Sought guidance for a minor dermatological issue but was met with humiliation when the physician disparaged my professional path. Ultimately reduced to tears, I discovered this doctor had conveniently "retired early" - likely after numerous formal complaints about his conduct. The practice suffers from systemic issues: scarce appointment availability, extensive waiting times, and minimal reception accessibility, including complete closure on Wednesday afternoons and entire weekends. This medical practice represents a fundamentally substandard healthcare experience with incompetent personnel and abysmal patient support.

Helpful staff made my medical concern less stressful
I reached out to the office near the end of the workweek, anticipating difficulty connecting with anyone. To my surprise, a helpful representative took my call. She attentively heard my concerns, provided a comprehensive breakdown of potential solutions, and gave clear guidance on next steps if my situation were to escalate. The conversation left me feeling calm and supported. Sincere appreciation goes to the staff member who assisted me that day.

Terrible customer service that needs serious improvement
Completely dysfunctional customer service. I spent ages trying to reach someone on the phone, and when I finally got through, they immediately disconnected the call without even acknowledging me.

I've made multiple attempts to reach out over the past 72 hours, and each time I'm greeted by the same automated message with zero human interaction - this situation is absolutely unbelievable

Terrible service and unprofessional reception staff
Park Lane practice desperately needs to enhance their front desk team's customer service abilities. The receptionists are incredibly inefficient and discourteous, while the doctors are genuinely trying their best. However, the communication breakdown between reception and medical staff is critically poor. Scheduling an appointment is utterly ridiculous. Calling typically results in endless waiting, and on the rare occasion you actually connect with someone, they invariably claim to be completely booked. Visiting the practice in person is equally frustrating, as staff immediately redirect you to phone booking, citing they're too overwhelmed to assist you directly. After experiencing unprofessional treatment and receiving unhelpful responses from reception staff, I'm definitively done with this practice. I'll be transferring my medical registration to a different GP surgery without hesitation.

Worst purchase ever zero stars would not recommend
I'm awarding the lowest possible rating because a zero-star option doesn't exist... I'm utterly let down and frustrated.
