Patient feedback reveals a practice with significant operational challenges that overshadow clinical strengths. Appointment access remains the dominant concern, with patients reporting difficulty reaching the practice by phone, lengthy waiting times, and limited availability of same-day or advance booking options. The phone system experiences frequent congestion, with callers reporting waits exceeding an hour, and some describe being disconnected after extended holds. Reception experience is mixed, with some patients praising courteous and helpful staff, whilst others report dismissive or discourteous interactions. Communication failures appear systemic, including unresponsive follow-up, prescription delays, and difficulty obtaining test result information.
Where patients successfully access care, clinical expertise and responsiveness receive consistent praise. Doctors are frequently described as knowledgeable, supportive, and efficient. The practice's digital booking platform is appreciated by those who can use it, though some report the system shows no available appointments. Continuity of care is valued when patients see the same clinician. However, these positive clinical experiences are substantially undermined by access barriers and administrative dysfunction, leaving many patients frustrated and considering switching providers.
The practice appears to struggle with capacity management and communication systems rather than clinical quality. Patients acknowledge that once seen, care is generally good, but the difficulty in securing appointments and reaching staff by phone creates significant barriers to accessing that care. This gap between clinical capability and service accessibility represents the core challenge affecting patient satisfaction.

ExcellentExtremely grateful
I saw Dr Schofield last Tuesday and it was a fabulous experience. I find I can always get an appointment when I need one, the receptionists are without exception helpful and will go the extra mile. I am nearly 80 and IT literate, but whenever I get stuck on the Digital Front Door I can just ring up and the receptionist will talk me through the problem. The GPs always treat me with dignity and respect, always go to a lot of trouble and obviously care very much. The nurses and HCAs are superb, I am often there for B12 injections and routine vaccinations and they are always on time and efficient. The whole practice feels like a family and I feel welcome there, where I have been accessing NHS services for 33 years. I was born before the NHS existed and I am extremely grateful for the treatment I receive. We should not take it for granted.

Terrible medical experience with dangerous prescription errors
Total chaos! Scheduling an appointment is a nightmare, and the physicians carelessly prescribed drugs that clash with my current medication, showing zero interest in addressing the issue - it's downright hazardous! Completely disorganized healthcare with general practitioners who display zero empathy for their patients. Steer clear at all costs.

Frustrating scheduling but awesome service when available
Scheduling a consultation here is an exercise in futility. The actual services are top-notch, but getting through their booking process is incredibly challenging, and opportunities to receive care are frustratingly infrequent.

Frustrating booking but great doctor overall
Swapped out the early morning battle for a booking. The updated scheduling approach is acceptable, but the front desk staff created significant friction during the process. One would hope they could hire personnel with better interpersonal abilities? The doctor, however, was excellent.

Longtime patient frustrated with clinic's scheduling
Disappointing situation. I've been with this practice since '94, and Dr. Blacklock was always exceptional. I rarely needed visits, only for occasional seasonal allergies. This year, my pollen allergy has affected my skin, causing issues on my arms and legs. I've tried the pharmacy, but getting a same-day or even a 14-day appointment seems impossible. I'm left dealing with the uncomfortable and visible symptoms. Looks like I'll be searching for a new healthcare provider.

Frustrating and inefficient healthcare scheduling nightmare
The recently implemented scheduling process is absolutely terrible and those who require medical consultation are likely to be overlooked. The system now demands inputting numerous details, obtaining a verification code, completing extensive paperwork, and then waiting endlessly for a reply. There's continuous repetition of entering identical information multiple times. Ultimately, you discover your medical appointment is scheduled weeks in the future. A completely senseless and frustrating ordeal.

Confusing form needs clear contact information now
I'm aiming to provide constructive feedback: I strongly believe the 'IMPORTANT INFORMATION' sections would be more user-friendly if they were replaced with standard web form labels that users instantly recognize: EMAIL ADDRESS PHONE NUMBER IMPORTANT INFORMATION We'll send you a booking link for your appointment via email. Please provide your email address to receive this invitation. Monitor your device closely to access and confirm your appointment. If the doctor requires immediate communication, they will call you. It's crucial that you provide the most reliable contact number for reaching you.

Compassionate and efficient care at park medical centre
From the moment I registered with Park as my primary healthcare provider, the service has been nothing short of exceptional. Initially, when I was struggling with mental health challenges affecting my work, the GP was incredibly supportive, promptly providing a FIT note to help me recover. Subsequently, I needed stitches removed following a minor surgical procedure. Using their convenient online booking system, I received a callback within minutes to schedule an appointment. The procedure with Janet was swift and straightforward, taking barely five minutes. Furthermore, when I required a health assessment for a Private Hire License, the staff (I believe his name was Aeden) were incredibly accommodating, guiding me through the payment process, next steps, and appointment scheduling with remarkable efficiency. I'm perplexed by any negative feedback about this practice. Having relocated from the South, where GP services were overwhelmingly busy with extended wait times, my experiences here have been remarkably positive. I genuinely commend the entire team at Park Medical Centre. To those who feel the wait is excessive, I'd suggest considering the challenges faced by healthcare providers in larger service areas before making hasty criticisms. In today's context, Park's turnaround times are entirely reasonable and commendable.

Terrible clinic with terrible service and patient care
the absolute worst medical facility in chester. their phone communication is abysmal, with wait times ranging from half an hour to a full hour for calls. i witnessed three reception staff members gossiping and playing on their personal phones, and even when i entered with an active call, no one bothered to respond. prescription and medication handling is completely incompetent, with doctors and nurses taking anywhere from 4 to 30 days to process prescriptions from specialists. they are seemingly incapable of reading urgent hospital messages, recommendations, or prescribed treatments. waiting for test results or hospital-prescribed information can take anywhere from one to three months. their negligence is directly putting patients' health at risk. this clinic is so dangerously ineffective that it should be shut down immediately to protect patient wellbeing.

Terrible medical centre with zero patient support
This medical centre in Chester is absolutely abysmal. For five consecutive days, I've been attempting to secure an extension for my sick leave, only to be told my case lacks urgency. The potential consequences are severe - I could potentially lose my job simply because obtaining a single medical signature has become an incredibly complicated process. Despite being initially promised that extending my sick leave would be straightforward, the reality has been completely different. Their communication is practically non-existent; reaching them is nearly impossible, and even when contact is made, my concerns are completely disregarded. I was explicitly assured that someone would return my call, yet unsurprisingly, no one has bothered to follow through. The level of unprofessionalism is shocking.

Great care and service at park medical centre
Throughout my experience with Park Medical Centre, I've consistently received exceptional medical support. Over time, I've consulted various physicians and nursing staff for both my personal health and my children's medical needs, and each interaction has been remarkably positive. Additionally, the front desk personnel are consistently friendly and accommodating.

Frustrating healthcare with impossible appointment scheduling
The service is utterly disappointing. While the healthcare professionals are competent, securing an appointment feels nearly impossible—like hitting a rare jackpot just to schedule a basic consultation. Medication delivery is consistently unreliable, leaving my son continuing to suffer. I'll be forced to revisit the pharmacy tomorrow, hoping against hope that the prescription has finally arrived. Communication is equally frustrating, as attempts to call and verify the prescription's status are met with perpetual silence. My recommendation is straightforward: hire staff who can actually manage these fundamental tasks.

Lifesaving care during unexpected medical emergency
During my diabetic consultation on March 11th, I experienced a severe stroke while at the medical facility. The entire healthcare team - from physicians to nursing staff - demonstrated exceptional care and professionalism. Their swift and skilled intervention was truly life-saving, and I am profoundly grateful for their incredible support. My deepest thanks to everyone who helped me during that critical moment.

Compassionate care from aiden makes all the difference
I've been a patient at this medical practice for over three decades and, like many others, have encountered some challenges along the way. However, I've recently been impressed by a young staff member named Aiden, who consistently demonstrates remarkable patience and dedication. It's truly refreshing to find someone so helpful, and I'm always confident that my concerns will be promptly and effectively addressed when he's assisting me.

Great service at local medical practice
We recently relocated to Chester and now reside in close proximity to the medical practice. The reception staff provided us with outstanding service, offering support and comfort during our initial visit. Their welcoming demeanor was greatly appreciated. Our sincere gratitude goes out to them. Eileen and Peter Follows.

Terrible medical centre with unhelpful staff nightmare
Absolutely dreadful healthcare facility in Chester. After recently switching to this practice, I've spent the past fortnight unsuccessfully attempting to secure a medical appointment. The staff are incredibly discourteous and display a complete lack of professionalism. I'm actively seeking to change healthcare providers at the earliest opportunity.

Frustrating healthcare with zero patient convenience
Securing a medical consultation here is an exercise in futility. You're faced with two equally frustrating options: either brave the early morning crowd, lining up at 8am with over 20 people ahead of you, only to be dismissed and told to try again the next day... Alternatively, attempt to book by phone after 10am, where you'll find yourself languishing on hold for 31 minutes, stuck in first position, with no sign of anyone picking up. Their online booking system is a complete fiction, contradicting the pre-recorded message that suggests otherwise. If another medical practice were an option, I'd switch in a heartbeat, though I'm skeptical of finding a significantly improved experience elsewhere!

Terrible service and unhelpful receptionist nightmare
I've been struggling to secure a medical appointment, and it seems there are no slots available. They advised me to call at 8am, but I'm at work during that time and can't make personal calls while on the job, which creates a significant challenge. When I explained my situation to the receptionist, she suggested I visit Eastham walk-in centre, which is approximately 14 miles away, despite my own surgery being just 5 miles from me! She further recommended I contact 111 or go to A&E and potentially wait for 24 hours. When I expressed my frustration with these unhelpful suggestions, she abruptly ended the call. What an absolutely fantastic service - NOT!
