Frustrating and unhelpful gender identity clinic experience

Why was I removed from the Porterbrook Gender Identity Clinic waiting list when they could retrieve my medical records at any time? Disclosing any mental health concerns would immediately suspend my position on that list until fully addressed. I'm awarding a single star because their service offers minimal assistance, with responses limited to "no", "sorry", or referrals to external organizations that remain inaccessible. I found their attempt to extract an apology from me for expressing legitimate frustrations deeply inappropriate. I'm exhausted by repeated apologies and now understand exactly which questions to avoid to prevent experiencing yet another traumatic interaction with medical professionals who admit their own lack of expertise in providing appropriate prescriptions.

The digital medical consultation platform from my general practitioner's app has streamlined obtaining healthcare guidance, providing much-needed reassurance during a challenging period for both myself and my infant. I consider this app and its messaging service among the most positive developments emerging from pandemic-related restrictions, and I'm truly appreciative. Additionally, my eight-week postpartum consultation with Dr. Hashim was exceptional. Despite this being our first encounter, I found her simultaneously approachable and professionally competent. She created a comfortable environment where I could candidly discuss my and my baby's health concerns. Her medical expertise allowed her to offer explanations and comfort that significantly alleviated my worries. She was remarkably attentive, never seeming rushed, and conducted a comprehensive examination. My sincere gratitude goes to her, and I genuinely hope Dr. Hashim might become our designated healthcare provider. Lastly, I'm thoroughly impressed by the new medical facility's environment—it's both spacious and immaculately maintained. Negligent care destroyed my health and trust

Throughout my 21-year relationship with this general practitioner, they repeatedly blocked my attempts to consult a specialist and obtain an MRI by administering injections that ultimately deteriorated my condition. These treatments progressively weakened my health until they were compelled to refer me for surgery. The initial surgical intervention was unsuccessful and actually intensified my pain, necessitating a second procedure. Even after this, my condition remains largely unimproved. Their misguided approach to treating my medical issue has left me in continuous discomfort. Instead of providing proper care, they have now requested that I no longer seek treatment from their practice. This conduct is completely unacceptable and falls far short of the standard expected from a genuine healthcare professional who should prioritize patient well-being. In retrospect, I should have sought alternative medical care much earlier and found a more competent and compassionate GP who genuinely understands patient care.

Terrible medical practice with frustrating scheduling system

We genuinely attempted to give this practice a fair shot. With a fresh location, new staff, and a pristine facility, we hoped the previous negative reviews were outdated. Unfortunately, our experience has been nothing short of disastrous. Contacting anyone seems virtually impossible on any given day. Scheduling an appointment, even just one day ahead, is completely unattainable. You would expect an online system to handle advance bookings, but no. The so-called "app" (which is merely a webpage icon on your smartphone, clearly designed by amateur college students) perpetually displays "unavailable". After countless login attempts, I've only managed to secure two appointments out of approximately 15 tries. The system essentially collapses after 9:30 a.m., explicitly stating: "Site closed due to daily capacity". Effectively, you have a mere 90-minute window to schedule your GP appointments, with zero option for advance booking. It's absolutely absurd. To further compound the frustration, the staff have repeatedly committed errors during our two appointments and follow-ups. During a routine blood test, they incorrectly scheduled the appointment, forcing me to waste hours at the hospital while the GP resolved the issue. The lab staff even explained the scheduling mistake, and when I requested they document this procedural error, I was either completely ignored via email or met with defensive phone responses. Every interaction with the office felt like we were an unwelcome nuisance, constantly being urged to "just use the app" - which isn't even a real app and is monumentally ineffective. Sigh. I sincerely hope others fare better than we did.

Disappointing healthcare experience with poor communication

With a sense of deep disappointment, I share my experience. I've always had positive interactions with the medical staff and physicians. Despite having COPD, I developed a chest cough before Christmas that progressively worsened over the holiday period. I underwent two x-rays but never received any results. It was only through my chest consultant's direct communication that I learned I had contracted COVID, which he revealed during a clinic appointment by showing me the x-ray. Frustratingly, my GP never reached out to inform me. Recently, I received an unexpected call from a practice pharmacist - a role I wasn't even aware existed - who began attempting to adjust my medication regimen, suggesting reductions. Thankfully, I have access to the internet to verify and research these proposed changes.

Dangerous medical negligence threatens patient health

This medical practice has seriously deteriorated in recent times. Their administrative errors are numerous and consistent, spanning prescription mistakes, consultant communication breakdowns, incomplete medical records, and mishandled referrals. The problems seem endless. My husband's kidney condition has been critically impacted because an urgent referral Dr. Guest requested on September 7th was never processed, despite us following up twice over a four-week period. While Dr. Guest himself appears competent, the breakdown occurs once the paperwork is handed to the clerical staff. The entire system is a complete disorganized mess. I'm not someone who typically writes reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others about the serious administrative failures at this surgery.

Terrible service at medical practice avoid at all costs

Used to be a quality medical practice, but now it's gone downhill. Waited in line today on 30.9.19 as caller number 1 for over 15 minutes, only to be informed that my blood tests hadn't been processed, despite giving an extra day and calling after 2pm. They're constantly short-staffed with doctors and personnel. The practice manager needs to take control - this is a healthcare facility dealing with people's wellbeing, not a struggling convenience store with communication problems. Currently, the whole experience is incredibly frustrating...
