Obtaining an appointment at this practice is extremely challenging. This surgery ranks among the poorest in the area. I would advise others to consider alternative options.

Dismissed my symptoms without proper examination

I had a negative experience at this practice. I felt my concerns were not taken seriously during my appointment. I was told there was nothing wrong and was directed to seek mental health services instead of receiving further investigation at the GP. This led me to switch to a different practice, where I was promptly referred for imaging and blood tests. These tests revealed abnormalities that required attention. I was unwell for an extended period, and I feel the delay in receiving appropriate investigations and diagnosis at this practice significantly impacted my health and treatment pathway.

Long wait for appointment and referral follow-up

I wish I had checked reviews before registering at this practice. My experience has been quite disappointing. When I attempted to arrange an appointment, I was instructed to call online at 8am. After doing so, I was informed that a clinician would contact me. I waited throughout the day before eventually receiving a call at 7pm. The clinician indicated that I would receive a referral for a scan within 3-4 weeks. I waited patiently for this timeframe to pass, but I have not yet received the referral. When I contacted the practice again, I was told the referral was no longer with them and that I should follow up with the hospital directly. I have made several attempts to contact the hospital without success. Overall, I feel the service provided has been inadequate and I have serious concerns about the practice's ability to manage patient care effectively.

Reception staff dismissed my follow-up appointment request

I had a disappointing experience with the service and found the reception team to be quite unhelpful. I rang to book a follow-up appointment as I had been instructed to do by a clinical staff member, but was told this would not have happened, which made me feel disbelieved. Obtaining an appointment requires calling precisely at 8 a.m. to enter a queue. However, after waiting on hold, calls frequently disconnect and it becomes difficult to reconnect. All available slots for the day tend to be allocated within minutes, and the reception staff are unwilling to assist anyone trying to book after that point. I would suggest that the doctors themselves attempt to secure an appointment at their own practice to understand how challenging and unwelcoming the booking process can feel. The overall experience left me feeling that the staff approach was unhelpful, dismissive and lacking in courtesy.

Turned away at the door without help

I have been in the area for a year and have not visited this practice. I attend another facility for my mental health support, which I find to be a more pleasant environment. There is staff at the entrance who appear to discourage people from entering. Attempting to contact the practice by phone to arrange an appointment is extremely difficult. Based on other feedback I have read, I struggle to understand how they justify being described as particularly busy. The experience has been very poor. I would prefer to avoid using this practice in future.

Reception staff sent me to wrong location

The reception and appointment booking team could benefit from additional training. I have experienced ongoing difficulties with them throughout my time as a patient. I received a text message inviting me to arrange a flu injection appointment, which I did, and an appointment was successfully booked. However, when I arrived at the scheduled time, I was informed that my appointment was actually at a different location, and staff mentioned that several patients had made the same mistake. This was frustrating, and I chose not to rebook and will skip the vaccination this year as a result. The clinical staff have been excellent, and I received prompt and effective care for my health concern.

The communications and booking system could be significantly improved. Appointment slots are available for a very limited window each morning, which makes scheduling difficult. Phone lines experience substantial wait times before anyone becomes available to assist. Reception staff appear stretched and rushed, leaving little opportunity to properly address patient inquiries. Overall, the service experience fell short of expectations.

Unreliable service. Important prescriptions were misplaced on multiple occasions. It requires persistent follow-up with staff to ensure healthcare matters are properly addressed. Repeatedly sent home without proper help

I would rate this practice far below one star if possible. I found the service to be extremely poor and unhelpful. I arranged an appointment for my family member, but on multiple occasions they were sent home and told to return the following week. This happened repeatedly over four separate visits. I am very dissatisfied and am actively seeking to register elsewhere. I believe this practice is not providing value and would suggest that the resources allocated to it could be better utilised elsewhere.

I would advise against registering at this practice. The appointment system appears to operate on a very limited availability basis, with slots filling extremely quickly. On one occasion, I attempted to book during the designated morning window and was unsuccessful, and when I visited in person later in the week, I was informed that no appointments were available at that time either. The reception staff can come across as unwelcoming and tend to decline requests without enquiring about the nature of the concern. While I recognise that a town centre location naturally attracts high demand, it feels unreasonable that obtaining an appointment should feel like an exceptional occurrence rather than a standard service.
