Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment access and booking systems, with patients consistently reporting difficulties securing timely consultations through both phone and online channels. Phone lines remain frequently unavailable or busy during opening hours, while online booking platforms experience capacity issues and technical problems. Reception experience emerges as a major concern, with multiple reports of discourteous, dismissive, or unhelpful interactions, though some patients describe positive encounters with courteous staff. Communication and follow-up present recurring issues, including missed referrals, delayed prescription processing, and inadequate notification of test result problems or appointment cancellations.

In contrast, several patients commend the clinical care provided by medical professionals, praising responsive doctors and nurses who demonstrate genuine concern and competence. Digital services such as online consultations and medication ordering receive positive feedback when functioning effectively. A subset of reviews highlight exceptional reception staff professionalism and compassion, suggesting variable service quality across different interactions.

The practice appears to face systemic organisational challenges affecting service delivery, with patients noting deterioration since the pandemic and frustration with the shift toward digital-only appointment systems. While some recognise resource constraints within the NHS, others express concern about inadequate contingency planning, poor communication protocols, and insufficient staffing to manage patient demand effectively.

The most exceptional surgical experience I've ever had - the staff was incredibly supportive, and the doctors were phenomenal. They were so attentive and caring that I cannot express enough gratitude for their outstanding assistance. Thank you once again.

Frustrating experience with unresponsive medical practice

I've been attempting to schedule a virtual appointment for more than seven days, but the system persistently indicates it's at full capacity. I'm completely baffled about how I can possibly connect with a physician regarding my medical concerns. When I attempt to phone, the line is perpetually busy. This medical practice has seriously deteriorated in its quality of service.

Parkside medical practice truly exceptional and caring

I rarely leave reviews, but after two years with Parkside, I feel compelled to share my experience. Every single time I call, the receptionists are incredibly supportive and kind. Compared to my previous practice at Westcroft surgery, Parkside is leagues ahead. I've noticed some one-star and negative reviews about this practice, and frankly, I'm baffled by them. In my experience, if you approach the staff with genuine respect and politeness, they reciprocate in exactly the same manner. Whenever I've encountered any medical concerns, particularly regarding my children, they respond quickly and efficiently. Without a doubt, this is the most outstanding GP practice I've ever been associated with.

Compassionate doctor who truly cares about patients

I consulted Dr. Flo after enduring 6-7 months of medical challenges that were taking a significant toll on my mental well-being. This physician provided me with dedicated attention, offered precise guidance, and truly appeared committed to helping me overcome my health struggles. During my recent follow-up appointment, when I shared that I was feeling better, the warmth and joy in her smile clearly demonstrated her genuine concern for my recovery. I also want to express my appreciation to the entire staff who were responsive, listened attentively when I described my condition, and displayed authentic compassion throughout my treatment.

Unprofessional staff wasted my time and energy

I was unable to complete my blood test because they claimed uncertainty about the specific type required. Rather than proactively reaching out to me, they allowed me to arrive at the medical facility, check in, and sit in the waiting area. When I was finally called in by the technician responsible for my blood draw, I inquired about my partner accompanying me, only to be abruptly informed that my test could not be performed that day. Her demeanor was completely devoid of empathy or concern. While I recognize the issue may not have been her personal fault, it would have been considerate to communicate this problem beforehand, sparing me the unnecessary trip and subsequent frustration with their indifferent approach.

Frustratingly slow customer service nightmare

I began my wait as the fifth caller in line to reach a caller navigator at 8:00 AM. Now, at 8:30 AM, I'm somehow still "number 4" in the queue. Typically, a consultation with a physician doesn't extend beyond 10 minutes, so why is it taking an eternity for a "Caller navigator" to handle a simple appointment request? It seems like there's a complete absence of staff actually picking up the phone.

Parkside medical practice disappoints with long waits

Been with Parkside since their inception in 2004, back when doctors like Minnie, Cave, and Munro were available. Previously, securing an appointment was quick and easy. Now, it's a frustrating waiting game. Upon arrival, the waiting area appears nearly empty, with only five chairs occupied, yet somehow appointments are supposedly fully booked. The receptionists remain helpful, and I have no complaints about them. However, the appointment scheduling feels impersonal, like a conveyor belt where you're rushed through with barely five minutes of attention. It seems Parkside has significantly deteriorated from its earlier standards. My issue isn't with the staff, but with the system, which feels incredibly inefficient. As an ex-military personnel, I'd prefer seeing a military doctor who genuinely cares about patients, takes time to listen, and provides comprehensive care - qualities that seem absent in civilian medical practices nowadays.

Frustrating medical centre with terrible booking system

Completely pointless service. Why on earth can I solely schedule an appointment at such an early hour? There's no rational explanation. They expect me to verify my identity using a past phone number as if I instantly recall that? Absolutely frustrating. I'm seriously considering switching medical providers.

Incompetent staff fail to deliver critical medical care

The administrative incompetence at this medical facility is absolutely appalling. My husband underwent surgery on 9th December last year, with a follow-up consultation scheduled for 27/04. The consultant's request languished unnoticed in their inbox, and we only discovered this after making a proactive phone call, at which point the receptionist offered a weak apology. The consultant's clear directive was to forward blood test results via the original email request. Today, my husband attended the review only to be told that PARKSIDE had failed to deliver the required results, necessitating a complete rescheduling of the appointment. Unbelievable! We are discussing someone's critical medical journey here - specifically a cancer surgery follow-up. How difficult is it to comprehend and execute straightforward instructions? I am absolutely livid! PARKSIDE urgently needs to address the performance of their staff and implement better communication protocols.

Terrible healthcare service that leaves patients frustrated

Absolutely dreadful general practice in Milton Keynes. They're impossible when it comes to scheduling consultations. The phone system is a nightmare - you'll spend forever trying to get through, only to be told no appointments are available. This medical practice is completely useless! Even if you're in dire need of medical attention, they won't lift a finger to help. Call just two minutes after opening, and they'll claim they're fully booked. Total waste of a healthcare facility - they desperately need to improve their service.

Fantastic medical care with understanding and compassion

I've been a patient at this medical practice for around 4-5 years now. While it can certainly be frustrating at times, I don't think people truly understand how hectic the surgery gets. You can't simply call and expect an immediate appointment. In my personal experience, they have always genuinely tried to help me, which I truly appreciate. The engage consult system is incredibly convenient and user-friendly. The patient navigators must endure so much daily criticism, and I believe most people fail to recognize their challenges. They're just human beings with limited capabilities. If you approach them with rudeness or a bad attitude, why would they go above and beyond to assist you? I'm giving them 5 stars, and I never typically write reviews, but every time I search Google for their contact details, I notice they're stuck at 2 stars - which is absolutely not an accurate reflection of their services. People are always quick to complain about negative experiences but rarely take the time to acknowledge good service.

Terrible booking system leaves patients frustrated and hopeless

Their appointment booking process is incredibly frustrating and ineffective. The system requires you to call precisely at 8 am to secure a slot, but frequently the phone lines are unresponsive, leaving you repeatedly dialing with no success. I'm baffled why they maintain phone services if the staff are completely unhelpful. To make matters worse, their online booking platform becomes non-functional after midday, rendering it essentially useless. The whole experience is incredibly poor - they've definitely declined since the pandemic, and you're genuinely better off using the 111 service instead of dealing with their dysfunctional booking system.
