Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment access and reception experience, with patients consistently reporting difficulties reaching the practice by phone, lengthy waiting periods for consultations, and discourteous interactions at the front desk. The booking system presents a major barrier, with callers unable to connect during stated operational hours and available slots frequently unavailable. Communication barriers extend beyond phone access, with some patients experiencing unresponsive staff and unclear guidance on appointment procedures.

Despite these systemic issues, several patients report positive experiences with individual physicians who demonstrate attentive care, compassion, and professional competence. Some staff members are described as welcoming and supportive, and a minority of patients note improvements in service quality over time. However, these positive encounters are substantially outweighed by widespread complaints about reception courtesy, responsiveness, and the overall accessibility of the service.

The practice appears to face operational challenges that impact patient confidence and satisfaction, particularly around appointment availability and initial contact experience. While clinical care receives occasional praise, the barriers to accessing that care and the inconsistency in reception experience remain significant concerns reflected across the feedback.

Terrible service during my medical emergency

Completely worthless. I was struck by a vehicle just 48 hours ago and am suffering from multiple wounds, yet I'm unable to secure a medical consultation. The front desk staff member was incredibly unhelpful and dismissive, outright rejecting my request for assistance.

Worst medical experience ever terrible service

I regretfully must award a single star, which is far too generous for the abysmal services and incredibly discourteous employees. This establishment is so substandard that it should be shut down immediately, as it fails to offer patients even the most basic human compassion or care.

Terrible medical practice with zero patient care

This medical practice is absolutely terrible. The physicians exclusively provide remote consultations, requiring patients to endure a 2-3 week waiting period before receiving a phone call. The staff appears unmotivated and demonstrates a complete lack of concern for patient care.

Terrible service from unhelpful and rude reception staff

The front desk personnel are incredibly discourteous and off-putting. They display absolute disinterest in providing any assistance, adopting a rigid, dismissive stance towards every single inquiry. It's deeply troubling that despite the abundance of scathing feedback, there appears to be no oversight or accountability for such unprofessional conduct. I'd rate this experience 1 star, and only because the rating system won't allow zero. Absolutely disgraceful!

Terrible healthcare experience at local nhs centre

A disgrace to the National Health Service. Discourteous, inept front desk personnel. Complete absence of patient care. I'm constantly forced to seek treatment at an Urgent Care facility to get genuine medical attention. During a past visit, the reception staff mistook me for a physician... unsettling, but at least that might have guaranteed me a timely consultation!

Absolutely avoid this place, Getting an initial booking is a nightmare with endless wait times on the phone. Once you finally arrive, the front desk staff are incredibly unprofessional - they're dismissive, offensive, and completely uninterested in addressing your concerns. Their attitude is shockingly bad and they make zero effort to provide any semblance of customer service.

Frustrating medical records transfer nightmare

I've been in limbo for half a year, trying to get my medical documents transferred to my new registered practice. During the COVID-19 period, I unsuccessfully tried to locate my NHS number. Their communication has been non-existent. I filed a complaint through their internal system, only to be met with silence. Even my current healthcare provider has been unable to extract my records from Parkside. Despite the fact that the actual medical treatment isn't the issue, I strongly recommend steering clear of this practice due to their complete lack of responsiveness.

Terrible service from rude parkside medical centre staff

I've just finished reading the reviews about Parkside Medical Centre, which is also my GP, and sadly, I experienced the exact same poor treatment from their receptionist. These staff members seem completely unprepared to provide professional service in a public health setting. The most frustrating aspect is that there's no effective way to lodge a complaint since the manager is one of the doctors. Regrettably, I'm forced to give a single star to ensure my review gets published.

Worst medical experience ever terrible service

Giving this the lowest possible rating because anything lower would be impossible. Every single staff member, from the front desk to the doctor, is utterly terrible. Unless you're prepared to aggressively demand assistance, you'll be completely ignored. And even when you do push, you'll receive the most minimal, grudging response imaginable.

Worst customer service ever avoid at all costs

Absolutely dreadful customer service, the front desk staff provide contradictory information and display complete incompetence when handling requests. Their rudeness is astounding, and I'm utterly dismayed that some of these employees continue to work there. It's no surprise they have such poor online ratings. They seem to selectively decide which customers deserve decent treatment and which do not, creating an unprofessional and inconsistent experience.

Unhelpful gp left me in unbearable pain

I underwent a surgical procedure and am experiencing intense pain. I contacted the Parkside medical practice seeking pain medication, but the receptionist was extremely unhelpful. She rudely informed me they had no available appointments and suggested I go to the Emergency Department just to obtain pain relief. This practice of redirecting patients to A&E for basic medical needs is precisely why emergency rooms are constantly overcrowded.

Terrible service that fails patients in need

Absolutely dreadful experience! When you're facing critical medical concerns, they dismiss you without a second thought! Even after obtaining treatment recommendations from an alternative physician, their indifference is stunning. You're forced to repeatedly dial their number at the crack of dawn, only to be met with constant busy signals. When you finally connect around 9am, you're informed that all available slots have vanished, and you must restart this exhausting cycle the next day. It's a nightmarish, repetitive ordeal! They demonstrate zero empathy for individuals struggling with significant health challenges!

Worst medical service ever experienced by a patient

The phone line remains constantly engaged, and scheduling a prompt appointment seems impossible. The staff comes across as discourteous, and the physicians occasionally appear incompetent. The overall service quality is simply abysmal. Currently, they're leveraging the pandemic as a justification for their consistently subpar service (despite the return to normalcy), and they're experiencing a shortage of medical professionals. Nevertheless, the reception staff continue to bungle appointment schedules and dates, neglect to read email communications in a timely manner, and mishandle medication requests. When errors occur, they deflect blame instead of acknowledging their mistakes. Their operational competence is fundamentally lacking!

Terrible service and impossible to book appointments

ABSOLUTE WORST MEDICAL PRACTICE. To schedule an appointment, you must call at 8am, but their phone line is perpetually BUSY. After exhausting 40 minutes attempting to contact them, they inform you no appointments are available and instruct you to retry the following day at the same time. Not only are they deceitful, but the administrative staff are also INCREDIBLY DISRESPECTFUL and COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE. The Nurse Practitioner demonstrates remarkable incompetence and appears clueless about addressing medical issues (she once ludicrously suggested antibiotics for a candidiasis infection????) I've had no complaints about the actual medical team. Ultimately, switching GP surgeries was unquestionably the best decision I've ever made, and I strongly recommend everyone do the same.

Frustrating phone system ruins potential great healthcare experience

Scheduling an appointment is an absolute nightmare with their phone system. It's a constant cycle of dialing, hearing a busy tone, hanging up, and repeating the process endlessly. I've had to redial over 80 times just to get through! They desperately need to implement a proper call waiting queue. Despite the frustrating booking process, the actual medical care is commendable. When I finally see a general practitioner, the service is excellent, and hospital referrals have been processed quickly and smoothly without any complications.
