Patient Experience Summary

Feedback reveals significant challenges with appointment access and booking experience. Patients consistently report difficulties reaching the practice by phone, with extended waiting times and frequent disconnections. The 8:30 AM booking window creates barriers for employed patients, and advance appointment availability is frequently unavailable. Online booking systems have been removed, forcing reliance on phone contact during congested morning periods.

Reception experience emerges as a major concern, with multiple reports of discourteous and unhelpful staff behaviour. Patients describe receiving incorrect information, abrupt call terminations, and dismissive responses to requests. Communication issues extend to medication processing delays and unresponsiveness to complaints. However, medical professionals themselves are consistently described as competent and courteous, with nursing and clinical staff receiving praise for their professionalism and care.

While some patients report positive experiences with supportive and responsive service, the predominant pattern indicates systemic organisational difficulties affecting appointment availability, booking processes, and reception interactions. Several patients note the practice has deteriorated over time, with staffing constraints and insufficient resources appearing to underpin operational challenges.

The customer service team I reached out to early in the day was absolutely exceptional. Heather and her colleagues at the front desk were incredibly supportive and went above and beyond to assist me.

Great service with minor online booking hiccup

I've been a patient at this clinic for four years now, and the staff consistently demonstrates exceptional kindness. They are thoroughly professional, well-prepared, and impressively responsive during critical situations. However, I miss their previous online booking system, which was more efficient and helped avoid lengthy telephone wait times.

Terrible medical practice that fails mental health patients

The entire medical facility seems to rely solely on two physicians. The front desk personnel (specifically staff member A) display discourteous and dismissive behavior, frequently terminating phone conversations abruptly. Individuals struggling with mental health should absolutely steer clear of this practice. Despite repeatedly seeking assistance, I was left feeling suicidal. Dr. Oni's response was to dispatch a letter claiming I was offensive, and then suddenly discontinue my long-term pain medication (morphine/tramadol) simply because she disliked my demeanor. This abrupt cessation caused me severe medical complications - essentially serving as punishment for experiencing a mental health crisis. I am genuinely astonished they have maintained a seemingly positive professional rating. I am currently pursuing an official review with the Care Quality Commission to reassess their standing. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND

Terrible service left me without critical medication

Absolutely terrible service. I desperately needed an urgent prescription, and they misplaced the midwife's referral letter. Despite the document clearly indicating the urgency, I was unable to obtain my medication on time.

Terrible service that will make you run away

The front desk staff is completely incompetent and has no business interacting with customers. I submitted an online request for an urgent appointment, only to receive a response indicating availability from March to April 2025!!! I'm absolutely determined to seek out an alternative medical practice and will thoroughly research their reputation beforehand. OUTRAGED

Terrible healthcare with zero patient consideration

Despite its contemporary facade, this practice lacks substance and competence. Securing a GP appointment is virtually impossible. Telephone consultations are the sole option, and if your work prevents you from answering the phone, you're out of luck. Their staff will flatly reject assistance, leaving you stranded while a smug receptionist speaks with patronizing sarcasm, essentially blaming you and seeming delighted that they can dodge providing help. Scan through the other reviews for this medical center. Not a single negative review has received a response from them - this silence speaks volumes about their indifference and total disregard for patient experience. Steer clear and seek healthcare elsewhere.

Inconsistent service puts patients at serious risk

Some employees demonstrate excellent efficiency, but recently, staff performance has significantly declined. Repeat prescription requests are consistently being ignored, requiring patients to follow up multiple times, with medications still not being issued. This leaves patients without critical treatments. The staff appear brusque and unhelpful, and securing a general practitioner appointment has become extremely challenging. This medical practice urgently requires comprehensive staff retraining.

Frustrating healthcare experience with my son's cough

Absolutely no proper diagnosis, just wild speculation... My child struggles with a persistent cough, and they've conducted zero comprehensive examinations. Their dismissive responses range from "it's typical" to "must be asthma," yet after a dedicated asthma screening, the results were negative. He endured wearing an asthma mask for three weeks unnecessarily. Now I'm left questioning my son's actual condition, and heaven forbid I propose any insights to the medical professionals. Their approach is so incompetent that calling them doctors feels like an insult to the profession.

Impossible to get a gp appointment nightmare

I'm struggling to secure a GP appointment following QMC Emergency's urgent recommendation for medical investigations. It seems impossible to book a slot, leaving me with no choice but to pay for private healthcare or jeopardize my well-being by waiting endlessly for a GP consultation. I've already missed two workdays, and the receptionist has instructed me to call back on Monday, meaning another three-day delay. This isn't my first negative encounter. When I urgently needed life-critical medication for a repeat prescription, I was told to request a refill 10 days before my current supply expires. After misplacing my medication, I found myself in an extremely precarious and potentially life-threatening situation. I intend to file a complaint with the Integrated Care Board, as a taxpaying citizen, I find it unacceptable that I cannot even schedule a doctor's appointment for a serious health concern. The entire situation is utterly absurd.

Frustrating healthcare with impossible morning appointments

Good doctors, that's the only positive thing I can say. ESCALATE TO ICB Trying to reach them in the morning is an absolute nightmare - it's been 1 hour and 17 minutes since they opened, and I've already made 21 call attempts!! Utterly ridiculous when you're trying to get medical attention for yourself or your children. What a complete farce. Initially transferred from St Albans and had a decent experience for the first few months, but now I totally understand why they're stuck with a measly 2-star rating. If you genuinely want to see improvements, file a formal complaint with the local Integrated Care Board (ICB) so we can collectively push for changes that benefit all patients.

Worst customer service ever at this place

The staff were incredibly discourteous. Upon arriving to check in for my appointment, I found the employees engrossed in a phone call, and when finished, all three avoided making any eye contact. A gentleman they apparently knew was allowed to bypass the queue after showing some sort of pin badge, prompting a lengthy conversation about his workplace relocation. After their chat, they resumed their previous activities, continuing to ignore my presence. Eventually, I spoke up: Me: Hello, I'm here for a 12:30 appointment. How do I check in? Her: Do you want to use the self-service machine? Me: Oh, is that where I check in? Thanks. As I walked towards the kiosk, she loudly proclaimed: Her: I'm in the middle of something... Me: I understand, but there's no clear signage about this. The service was hostile and confrontational, clearly demonstrating the staff's complete contempt for customers. Their unprofessional behavior was appalling and made me feel entirely unwelcome.

Worst medical receptionist ever unprofessional and disrespectful

I recognize the challenging nature of working at a medical practice, particularly when handling patient inquiries. I always approach interactions with courtesy and understanding. Today, I only reached out because 111 recommended I do so, yet the receptionist was hands-down the most discourteous staff member I've ever encountered. Their demeanor was entirely unhelpful, patronizing, and unnecessarily harsh. I'm now seriously considering switching to a different general practice after this awful experience. I spent considerable time mustering the courage to make this call, only to be confronted with such disrespectful treatment right at the start of my day.

Terrible healthcare experience at local gp practice

Absolutely terrible general practice in Nottingham. Securing an appointment is incredibly challenging, and when you try calling at 8 AM, they're seemingly more interested in having tea than helping patients. These arrogant doctors appear more focused on prolonging your suffering and prescribing numerous medications rather than actually providing effective treatment.

Frustrating healthcare experience for disabled patient

After a recent road traffic collision, paramedics advised me to follow up with my GP. I spent days attempting to contact the practice, repeatedly trapped in the queuing system and disconnected. Eventually, I was informed no appointments were available, but a medication review was scheduled for a week later. I awaited the review call and discovered through the app that an attempt had been made, but my phone was apparently busy, resulting in an automated voicemail. When I contacted the surgery, they explained the doctor was calling from a private number. I clarified that my phone blocks withheld numbers, a setting recommended by police due to previous harassment. The staff offered another appointment, likely still from a blocked number, or a face-to-face meeting. I explained my disability and lack of transport post-accident prevented me from visiting the surgery or using alternative transportation. I requested a home visit, but the receptionist bizarrely asked if I was housebound, despite my earlier explanation. She then accused me of creating obstacles by refusing in-surgery or blocked number consultations. How can a disabled person be blamed for such limitations? In my past role as a GP receptionist, such unprofessional communication would have warranted disciplinary action. Consequently, I'm left without proper pain management, medical assessment, or PTSD support!

Worst medical service ever experienced by patient

Absolutely dreadful service, I've been waiting a full twelve months for my referral to be processed, and every single time I reach out to the surgery to follow up, they promise to investigate and get back to me, but I'm consistently left in the dark. This medical practice is completely incompetent and should be shut down—they demonstrate zero concern for patient care or well-being.
