Phone lines actually answer when you call

Honestly a really excellent practice. I relocated and the care I received previously was disappointing. In comparison, this place is outstanding. I can consistently reach the practice by phone, consistently obtain appointments, and the clinical team provided me with a diagnosis and promptly referred me to the appropriate service. The team members are courteous and well-informed. They support patients in staying organised through regular text reminders and updates, and I genuinely feel valued as a patient. Well done, it's not easy working in a GP practice these days.

Hard to book and long waits here

Extremely disappointing overall, it's difficult to know where to begin. Firstly, obtaining an appointment is quite challenging, and even when you manage to secure one, you can expect to wait at least an hour before being seen. If your appointment is scheduled for a particular time, you may find yourself waiting significantly longer than that before your turn arrives.

Remote consultations instead of proper examinations

I have been assessing medical centres for quite some time now. This practice represents what I consider to be the poorest standard in the local area. In my view, the lead clinician appears unengaged with patients and tends to conduct remote consultations rather than conducting in-person examinations that would allow for a thorough assessment of presenting concerns. I was prompted to investigate this matter personally as the reports seemed difficult to believe. Following observation of this surgery over an extended period, I have witnessed what I regard as consistently inadequate outcomes. A particularly concerning example involves a patient who presented with chest discomfort and breathing difficulties. The patient was assessed by a clinical staff member who concluded the symptoms were minor, attributing them to a common cold with mild respiratory sounds. That same evening, the patient required emergency hospital admission via ambulance with a serious respiratory infection. The patient's recovery was attributed to the prompt intervention of the emergency response team. I was subsequently informed by medical professionals involved in the emergency care that the patient's serious condition may have been better managed had more comprehensive assessment occurred at the initial consultation. I would encourage anyone who feels their care has fallen short of expected standards to share their experiences. Raising awareness of concerns regarding medical practice is important to help prevent others from experiencing similarly difficult situations.

The practice did not meet my expectations. The nursing staff seemed reluctant to take action on behalf of my partner, requiring constant prompting to address concerns. There was also an upsetting interaction involving a family matter that left us distressed. Overall, this has been the poorest healthcare experience I have encountered.

My mother has been a patient at this practice for three years and manages multiple health conditions. I have concerns about the prescribing of certain medications that specialists at the hospital have recommended she takes. There have also been ongoing issues with the reception team not processing prescriptions promptly or providing accurate information about their status, which has resulted in unnecessary trips to the surgery only to find it closed. This has caused significant disruption, particularly regarding essential medications including cardiac medication. My mother was admitted to hospital during one of these periods without her regular medications. I have found my experience with this practice to be unsatisfactory and would have reservations about recommending it to others.

The staff at this surgery are generally helpful, however I have had concerning experiences with some clinicians. In my view, I felt dismissed during consultations when experiencing significant symptoms, with reassurance given that appeared inconsistent with my subsequent medical needs. I also had an experience where a diagnosis provided did not align with my health situation, as I required hospital care shortly afterwards. Based on these personal experiences, I have reservations about recommending this practice. I do sympathize with the support staff who work hard to assist patients. There are alternative practices available in the same building that may be worth considering.
